A stylist I watch recently said that when it comes to dealing with clients, you should never minimize the issue, and always maximize the response. I love that you provided solutions and were willing to work with her to achieve her goal!

Thank you so much for sharing with us. Wow!! This was so needed. When I think about the temperature of the stylist/client relationship in this present day conversations and dialogues like this are so imperative. Your conversation could have gone way left had you led with your emotions and pride. What stuck out for me is that a listening relationship and a desired partnership will take you far. I believe that this intimate and most vulnerable time with the stylist/client is so precious. It's bigger than money, hairstyles, and haircuts. We are making a transaction. Will this deposit be harmful or a vehicle that delivers love and confidence?

I really appreciate you taking the time to share . Yes we are in a very intimate space when doing someone’s hair and it has to be respected.

Historically, Ive been the client that sits in the chair without giving the stylist enough information to go on. I can see now that it was mostly my fault in most cases when I ended up not happy with the results. I really loved the thoughtful and clear communication on both sides. Thanks for sharing.

I love the accountability you bring from a client’s perspective. All is needed in this space.
