This is so cool! Randomly had this recommended as the first video of yours that I've seen and the voiceover and whole vibe was really relaxing. I saw some of these magnetic polishes on a certain page and they did some heart designs which sort of expand or reduce in size when you move your nails. Maybe you could do stuff like that towards valentine's. Going to check out some of your other videos now!

This is such a beautiful effect and a nice little twist on the usual cat eye pattern. I was wondering, do you think it's also easily doable with "ordinary" magnetic polishes? I wouldn't mind having a go but I don't use curable polishes.
Thank you so much for watching and for your comment, Jean! I think it's worth a shot! It seems like you'd want to try to work really quickly, so maybe trying the French with just one magnetic color first would be best. You could also try painting the magnetic polish on only the bottom half of the nail, feathering it up, so that the magnetic bits don't have to travel all the way from the cuticle area down to the tip of the nail. Hope that makes sense!

Thank you! These polishes only dry under a UV/LED lamp, so you have plenty of time to manipulate them before curing them in the lamp. Thanks for watching, Lisa!

Love this video! Watching your process with the magnets is very useful! What is a flash cure?
Thank you for watching! A flash is when you put your finger under the lamp for about 10 seconds. This doesn't fully cure the gel, but it cures it enough that it won't run onto your skin or in this case, so they magnetic bits are sealed into place. Hope that answers your question!

I have, quite literally, spent the past few months (off and on, you know-I'm not a fanatic) trying to figure out how to do this look and have spent quite a bit of money on cat eye nail polishes that turned out to not have a very strong magnetic capacity , or wouldn't cure properly or the colors would fade, or they smelled bad, among other things. Anyway thank you for your clear and concise instructions.

I think you're talking about the top coat I used with the blue, green and black. That was the Izemi top coat in low, link below. I mix in top or base gel if I want to sheer out the product.

You don't need that nail oil if you only use nail polish. That's like moisturize your chin when you have dry forehead.. Normal cream does the job btw.. Nail oil is only marketing stuff.
