This is the best 18'' sub on the market. At this price point you can not buy something with a better construction or more power. This sub outruns the kw181, jbl prx 618/718, mackie hd1801 and ev etx18sp.The funny part is that the next level subs comes again, from rcf. I mean sub8004as.
I am Dobix I've tried different settings on the new 803 even the H2 and H3, 12 and 14 gauge cables and still limits very early. I asked RCF for support and they advised to keep pushing them until solid red. I'm ok with doing that but I've never had to push my other subs past limit for them to keep up with my tops. In this case ev ekx 15p only 1,000 watts.
Hello. You can push them with no worries. They made those new amplifiers a bit different. The red light is not the limit. It is just a "pre-limit" warning.Only when the light is constantly red, then its time to turn it a bit down.
Another tip: Those subs are meant to be used in pairs. 905, 8003, 8004, 9006, 9007. All the subwoofers from the SUB LINE, they punch really hard but when put in a pair. At least 2 of them.
I am Dobix That's the exact answer I got from rcf.. dosent make too much sense to me Especially because they start to limit when my tops are only at 50% volume.. but they do sound nice at low volumes just not what I was expecting from a $2000 speaker. Thanks
I really don't know what could be the problem there. Mine work just fine. I'm using tt25a ii tops and i have a nice boomy sound. I still need 2 more subs but that's just for bigger gigs with 1000+ people. It really depends on what "loud" means to you.
I couldn't see any phase swtich, button or menu on the new 8003 ASII why RCF company didn't put a phase swicth on it. I'm wondering that, is cardioid presets acts like phase button in any case ?
hello I have the new 745mk4, and I bought a 8003mk2, can you tell me the correct settings of the sub? and also the volume that holds both the 745 and the sub?
Did you like this combo i also want to buy the 745 and the 8003 but im not sure if i need two subs :/ but i have to listen it befor ill order it 😂😅 wich music do you play?
Hey can i use a compressor limiter on it? And other audio processor components like dbx 3 way crossover? Thank you for answering my question at your beloved page.
Mr Jn you can use an external processor on it for extra protection. The only thing you couldn't do is go beyond the preset crossover settings. Example if you wanted to crossover at 140hz for the sub the subs internal crossover would only let it go up to 125 if you had it in the L4 H4 or C4 settings.
Sweet Tree Productions so the things i can do is just set the crossover frequency in 120 hz also. Thank you so much for replying at least if i do it i know it will create a beautiful sounds.
Nice review. I'm curious about how is new RCF 8003 ASII ' s SPL output and frequency response compared to the 8004 AS. I have 4 pieces of Behringer B1800HP which is very heavy for single 18" but nice sub for the money. If there are any chance i want see a comparison video before i change my subwoofer equipment. Please can you ask someone or make a comparison between New 8003-ASII , 8004 AS, and Behringer B1800HP and write to me. Thank you.

Hi Chris, it would be best to have matching cabinets to help with phasing and cone filtering. We have had people do it before to add to what they have. It wouldn't sound bad as long as the boxes were lined up with the 18" subs in the same plane with each other and the crossover settings were the same.
Can someone explain the different settings of this sub please, I just got a pair with the rcfs art735 and have no clue how to set the subs to the best spec to match the tops! Thanks in advance
DJ GUERO depending on what type of music you will be using these for there are a few options. For the 735’s we would recommend the L2 setting and then use the crossover output to go to the top for most situations. This will allow the sub to do most of the hard low frequency work and the top to still produce some down to 80hz. The H settings don’t go down as low so they will be good for rock and country. The C settings are for Cardioid set ups which would involve at least 3 subs per side with one inverted. This mainly reverses the phase of the Speaker while also changing the crossover frequencies. Look at 2:18 for the Key.
Sweet Tree Productions awesome! Thanks for the reply!! One last question I noticed that when I do use the L2 setting the subs sound amazing but I want a little more juice out of the tops, is it bad to change the tops input setting to mic and lower the gain to about 3 lines of volume? When I do that I get an awesome punch from the subs and great clean audio from the 735! I just don’t know if having the 735 in mic mode to produce my music out of my mixer to hurt anything! The 735 never Clíp and they still sound amazing! Thanks
DJ GUERO it is usually not a good idea to put them in mix mode unless you have a microphone plugged directly in to them. We would recommend turning the gain down on the sub which is the first menu function and then turning the tops up as needed in line mode. We usually run all of our gains on our tops at 3 o’ clock or 75% appears to be near unity but 100% wouldn’t hurt either as long as you sent clipping. The only problem with mic mode is with the gain that hot you can introduce a lot of noise from your mixer that way.
Sweet Tree Productions well I was amazed at the system once I set it up like I’m telling you and got no noise from the mixer, other than that will it cause any damage to the speaker? I’m more worried about that, I mean the gain on the 735 is really low and I get 0 clipping, just want to make sure since I really don’t know sorry. Also the first menu is at 0 and then goes up so you lower the volume on the subs by going up in numbers instead of down?
How do 2 of these push compared to one SUB9006? I need some extra subs and I really don't know what to do. Another 4 of these 8003subs or 2 SUB9006... What do you think? Does one 9006 push harder as 2 of those subs?
