Mike trapp is giving quick recall middle school champion
He’s literally me
This is very specific and incredibly correct (as someone who was a middle school quick recall champion)
as someone who did quick recall as a kid including middle school i strongly agree
As a high school quick recall champion, I concur
As a Speech Team champion, I have never heard of this co-curricular activity....
Siobhan went from "me and Ify are disabled in this game" to "Ify, you are my mortal enemy" SO FAST
If someone betrayed me after I specifically pointed out the ducks and offered a team-up, we’d be mortal enemies as well!

That's really how it is with neurotypical nerds. You're like wait where'd it come from then 😂
He do be giving autism though 😂

Born neurotypical, but raised by a nerdy and autistic Dad with ADD - so I tell my D&D group I'm neurodivergent through osmosis 😂
If Mike Trapp had existed 200 years ago, people probably would have thought he was a wizard with supernatural psychic abilities.
They might have even worshipped him and built him an altar.

@@Grimm-Ait’s a reference to the bingo episode
It's just the wrong flavour of ADHD. They need the one where they're supposed to do the laundry, so they end up getting distracted and memorize the periodic table and then every nation's capital city for fun.
Element 72 is Hafnium, named after the latin for Copenhagen, which is the capital of Denmark, but I don't have any clean trousers.
And this is why I love my fellow ADHD nerds. Bless 🥹🫶🏻
Like yeah, I needed to sort out medical papers and ended up learning bears behavior. Do I have the paper I need for my appointment ? No. But black bears can run up to 30mph and that’s really cool
Last night I tried starting a habit tracker and god knows how, I ended up learning that when making his famous painting *Nighthawks,* his wife added notes to his about the painting, and that the original name was “Night Hawk” but someone misspoke, calling it Nighthawks, and it stuck.
So damn mundane, but it was because I saw that painting somewhere all the time growing up, and something triggered me to look it up 💀
This is why you need a big house filled with all kinds of neurospicy flavors. Together, we can be unstoppable. You specifically need the roommate who's avoiding their chemistry project by deep cleaning the entire house.
I cohabitate to some degree with five other people with ADHD and/or who are on the spectrum. We're looking for the procrastinating cleaner, ourselves. Also someone who understands how time works, but that feels less realistic.
@@KingbimmyWhat's the habit tracker you're trying?
My autistic ass knew both answers already the first time because these are the kinds of random facts I store in my brain 😂
Wow this hit hard. My undergrad Chemistry professor was from Burkina Faso. Seriously amazing guy. He refurbished old ambulances and ships them to the villages he grew up in/around that can't afford them.
Damn I love Mike Trapp. What a legend.
I love that this episode eventually just turned into “Bribe everybody and you’ll be okay”
Mike is the "most normal nerd at the table" because as he says, most of his nerdiness comes from reading books.
The players ran through these so quickly when it recursed I forgot these questions existed
the ify and i are disabled in this game line killed me 😭
As soon as you saud 'element' my brain lit up, as I memorized the entire period table in eighth grade, for fun
Same
Same here, paid off later in life
I didn't memorize all of it, only up to Tin, but my slightly-educated-guess was Radon _which is 86 aaaaaa_
@LuneWatcher Hey, you were close. Personally for me, if I don't already know the atomic number of the element or vise versa, I just count up from the first preceding noble gas.
My guess was actinium
Was that the element of '87!?

Mike: **gets quiz wrong**
Mike: and I took that personally...
Sam just has such delight in his eyes, I feel like I would want to go to him with all my good news in life. ❤
One of the tests for adhd is a buzzer clicking like reaction test that ADHD people struggle with.
That’s interesting. How do they struggle? Like are they too fast or too slow? Inconsistent?
@@willtree11I'm too slow generally - that's also why I'm bad at a lot of video games, the time between my reflex being triggered and my actual physical reaction is low. I know I have to move and do ... Something. And I freeze up
Thank you for explaining that because I had no idea what any of this had to do with adhd 😅
That test was a nightmare for me. I almost wanted to throw the buzzer.
@@willtree11I believe it's a test of how long you can stay focused on the task and catch all the signals. Very hard for ADHD people, especially the longer it goes on. I would always click too soon because I'd get impatient and anticipate the signal, and they said the results showed I was impulsive.
Siobhan and Ify about to apply for 504 plans

Trap is always a joy to see. Much like Brennan.
The confidence is what gets me.
I actually knew Ouagadougou!
(Before Sam gave the answer)
Me too! 😭
Me too.
It feels so good to know that at some point I knew something Mike Trapp didn't. Time to quit while I'm ahead. Purely head empty from here on out.
This episode made me unreasonably happy because that was one of the first world capitals I ever learned :)
(The library in the neighborhood where I grew up had a gigantic globe, and I always looked for Burkina Faso every time I went)
Me too! Really proud of myself for that one! Thanks, Sporcle
Same! It was such a fun city to say!
And then there is me who exhibits adhd traits so strongly that I already knew the chemical with atomic number 87 was francium because I once hyper fixated on researching it for some reason
What does Francium even do? what's it used for? I don't want to have my own ADHD hyper fixation rabbit hole happen but I want to know!
@@rudicornVA Nothing it's useless
i actually knew ouagadogogugupgdd because of martincitopants’ kerbal space program video where he named his rocket that
@@rudicornVAbasically nothing. Its most-stable isotope only lasts 22 minutes before decaying, and it's so naturally rare as a result that only about 1oz of it exists in the entirety of the Earth's crust at any given time...and not in any one specific concentrated place. It was briefly used to get more information about atomic structure and electron energy levels because of its quick decay, but at present, it is believed to hold little further research value.
@@rudicornVAnothing, it’s a stupid element
Funny thing is Ouagadougou is my favorite word so I knew the answer
Me too. I watched a video about it
this is how it feels to be Just Autistic in an ADHD and audhd friend group
Being able to remember things in detail after a pause of a couple minutes is actually part of a typical ADHD evaluation lol
This episode was a damn fever dream, but it was so good
I love it when Trapp gets to actually play the games
I've always found it so delightful how different Presenter!Trapp is from Contestant!Trapp. The former vascillates wildly from Game Show Tropeman to Awkward Party Host constantly, the latter is smooth, collected and witty. I don't know I've ever heard Trapp say "Ummm..." even once when behind a buzzer, but it was almost his catchphrase on his own show (notwithstanding it being in the title).

Oh hey this is the short that made me get a dropout subscription
I’m actually the right kind of neurodivergent for this… I knew both of these because I have spent a lot of time memorizing both elements and political geography
Is there apolitical geography?
@@iankellymorristhink land features like mountains and rivers and such
@@abysmal83 Oh yeah, right. Don't know why I was spacing on that.
@@iankellymorrisThere's political geography (facts about countries, like their names, population, government, economy, culture, etcetera) and physical geography (facts about terrain features, weather, etcetera).
One thing I like about Shiobhan saying Ouagadougou is on the tip of her tongue is that almost none of the word uses the tip of the tongue
There’s no chance mike trapp is neurotypical, my radar is on fire
WHY DOES BURKINA FASO KEEP COMING UP
DONT GET ME STARTED ON FRANCIUM
The periodic table question my beloved
I had to remember half the second to last line of elements all the way to francium and just to be sure I was like "...radon, francium, radium"*repeated over and over*, also for anyone wondering(probably nobody tho) the other answer's given had the numbers 94, 50 and 18 respectively(plutonium, tin, argon)
I wasn’t wondering, but I’m very proud of you
as am I

If you all thought the Bingo game was a mind trip, wait till you see this episode.
Long live the wenis!!!

Siobhan is always so adorable.❤
Francium is one of the rarest naturally occurring elements.
“Who’s ever been built” 😂
Sam Reich trynta tie with Milgrim and Zimbardo in the "cautionary tales of psychological experimentation" category
At least the results of his experiments have value. Milgram and Zimbardo were just hacks, and their work wasn't even funny
Sometimes, I think Game Changer is more of a Skinner box.
@@swiftlymurmurs Whoa, hey. Zimbardo sure, but what did Milgram do.
Also, some of the reactions to being shocked were funny if you had the full context.
@@swiftlymurmursAlways nice to spread the good word about how these two bozos spat in the face of scientific rigor and low-key traumatized people while doing so. I'll never not be surprised how ubiquitously taught their work is.

I think Ify understands the hyper active part of ADHD where you can hyper focus.
My sister has been to Burkina Faso! She was on a mission trip! The people there are so nice and are such determined survivors. Donate to a charity to support them or something!

Game changer has been having a great season.
one of us, one of us, one of us, one of us!
If you're referring to the real Ouagadougou, you have to say "Ouagadougou Ouagadougou"
Thank goodness we’re not going to Baden-Baden.
Exactly what I thought of!
Me: "Isn't that Ouagadougou?"
"Yes, I knew studying Burkina Faso at school would be useful at some point!"
Crazy.
Trapp with the Ken Jennings-like buzzer timing
The way i yelled "WAS THAT THE BITE OF '87" SO FAST-
"Me and Ify are disabled in this game." And also IRL, if you have ADHD.
Watching this makes me want an episode where the contestants are given trivia questions with right answers but the points are awarded to the wrong but creative answers.
Brennan, Trapp, and Adam should be the contestants. 😀
It is possible a similar episode exists already, but I think it would be hella fun. 😊
There's already a show like that, it's called _QI._
Francium genuinely my favourite element so I knew what it was the moment he said the number. It’s simply got one of the goofiest names.
Even more proof of Sam's ableism.
Unbelievable behavior.
I couldn't catch which part is ableist. Can you elaborate?

They could possibly be referencing when Izzy said she had tubes put in her ears as a child so Sam Says was unfair or maybe the Dropout America version of Sam ?
@@kris778 I think it’s a little bit of both lol. They’re taking the Dropout America gag and adding the “ear tubes” and now “ADHD” incidents. Or at least some variation of that I guess

As an ADHD person, this was so fun! ❤❤❤
THIS IS GENIUS
tbh now they'll all know ouagadougou for life - its the type of word that once you've heard it you dont forget it bc its just such a fun word
loop, reverse loop, randomized, mixed questions, unrelated question, unrelated answer only, silent mode, everyone go home!

My phone was on exactly 87% during the first question
"It was on the tip of my tongue"🤣
Although I don't have all the chemical elements memorized, I do have all the national capitals memorized...
I think the funniest thing is that I knew the capitol was Ouagadougou because it was mentioned in one of Martins (weird green frog that plays KSP and silly Finnish drunk driving simulator) yt videos, and I never forgot it
I actually thought "Francium" for the first question. All that time studying the periodic table in high school seems to have engrained certain things in my subconscious.
I love that iffy buzzed in for that lol
i love how i knew the first answer in literally within 0.5 seconds
Oh my goodness I got Francium on the 1st go around!!!!! What in the GCSE double science is happening!!!!

The code for the real Ouagadougou is Ouagadougou-Ouagadougou
I knew this because I had to make a poster on it in middle schoolv😂
Ouagadougou is such an awesome capital; thank you martincitopants

I ACTUALLY KNEW THE CAPITAL OF BURKINA FASO. I saw it on a map in like 6th grade and told myself I’m never gonna forget this

Wait, having ADHD helps in this situation. It hinders in a classroom setting, but in a setting similar to this it has only ever helped me.
"Which element has the number 87?"
My brain: Markiplium.
Not the same without the "VFX Needed" VFX. Really brought the wide-screen version together
At first i tought it actualy ended and looped till i saw the big "loop 2"

I FUCKING CALLED IT ON A GUESS HOLY SHIT. LOVE YOU MRS. WEETHEE, BEST CHEM TEACHER EVER
holy shit i actually knew Ouagadougou! Its surprising how often that one comes up in conversation 😂
I wasn't expecting the last one to make me feel so much better about a genuine crisis of conscience I've been having lately about whether or not my affinity for seeing characters hurt makes me a bad person that romanticizes horrible things that other people struggle with even though I never take the same attitude to these things happening irl, because I'm still enjoying sonething depicting it in private, but I'm so glad it did.
(Also forgive my horrible run-on sentence, I have no excuse and it will happen again)
I can’t believe I randomly guessed francium. Those two dumb rows of elements no one uses somehow have a purpose
