Ah, I love hearing and seeing this song by one of the US folkie greats sung in UK by Brits and the excellent Spanish El Pony Pisador. Pete Seeger would be proud!
I've been watching and rewatching the live countless times waiting for this. The wait is over. I'll still watch the live but at least I'll add this video to my playlist as well :p Thank you for your work guys!
i really love your stuff. I found you guys about 2 months ago now and i gotta say i fell in love. Keep it Going! Cant wait to see more of your work in the future!
You should post a link to the shanties you sing and the speed and rhythm of them too. As me and possibly many others would like to practice singing shanties
No worries! :) we haven’t been able to stream anything for quite a while, but trying to sort out a schedule. We’ll try and post up on FB and Twitter when we get anything planned
I always found it ironic that so many "union songs" were written and popularized by Socialists and Marxists, but their lyrics focus on things like fair weights and measures, and fair wages--both fundamental concepts of Capitalism...
So you'd say that a bunch of people being de facto forced into underpaid mentally grating jobs just so they can live paycheck to paycheck in some tiny single room apartment with paper thin walls is not capitalism? And if so what would you refer to it as? I don't want to start a political arguement by the way, I just think that what you said is interesting so I'd love you to elaborate. God forbid someone brings political arguments to this comment section. Won't be me.
The joy in this video is so obvious and contagious; what a treat.
