It’s actually a very well written and comprehensive book th-cam.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 . I wanted to pair this with an updated book on local codes to start planning a post-retirement dream shop. I think I have just about everything I need between the two. The extra plans available for purchase towards the end are priced almost as much as full home plans, not little sheds however.
Doing it themselves down to the timbers is really amazing. No one can ever take that experience away.
The time and struggle was real, but you're absolutely right, we look back at our experience and memories often and smile proudly
You guys really know how to live! My husband and I have been married 50 years last March and I’m 70 and he’s 73! Believe me-you won’t miss the “stuff!”

Agreed, 31 years happily married - we live in a sweet 400 sq foot cabin .... and we don’t miss any of the stuff ...it’s just stuff

I would never have known that the shingles were made of steel. They’re very well done! This is a beautiful, cozy house. It looks like when it’s finished, it will perfectly meet their needs!

i built a post and beam house with
8 inch timbers so absolutely love the timber frame, also 90 percent done a 16 foot travelling tiny home, every piece of trim and wood hand made it is a lot of work, so i appreciate how much thought and time consuming labour has gone into this build very

This tiny house is amazing, I like the idea with the timber frame .. but what I missed .. the closer look at the countertop in the kitchen. I am jealous. What I have seen so far, these colours. I wish I could afford something like that.

Love Love Love this home and have been a fan of timber frame building for decades. My husband and I have dreamed of building a timber frame home in our fantasy dream home. The only thing I would add to this house is turning the larger deck into a removable sunroom with windows that have screens to keep the bugs out. It would allow you to have friends and family over and to entertain them throughout the year even if it snows. I have recently seen a couple of tiny houses that have added a removable room like that and fell in love with the idea because it gives you so many options for how it can be used while still allowing the house to be movable because it can be easily taken apart and the panels (think like SIPS that are insulated and the deck/floor could fold up and protect that side of the house and especially the large glass doors and windows from any damage while in transit) stored in the house as it’s being moved. You can add more solar panels to increase the amount of available energy throughout the year. Your parking area is gorgeous and adding the extra room would allow you to use it and enjoy your surroundings all year round even in the cold winter months.

YES! My favorite architectural style. Tudor! Well sort of. It's like a more modern version of it, but I am glad also they went that way.
We didn't know what "Tudor" was, so we just looked it up haha! There are a lot of similar aspects! That's a good association!

This is great. Ive seen so many of the "tiny home" videos and you can very often tell its unlivable. This build is really impressive and what really blew my mind is I used to live there! Senders Market and red dirt baby :) So sad when the fire hit, but like the forest we grow from the ashes. Thanks for sharing, hope you guys are still up there doing well.

I moved back East unfortunately, due to the fact I could not afford to live there after I retired plus my lady passed away not the same without her. I miss California and Jan a lot. Take care.

Dog seems happy. That’s all that matters. I love that they have a full sized shower and full sized refrigerator and refused to compromise on those and still stay tiny, huge respect on that.

I was raised in San Andreas, but my family has property right outside Sheep Ranch, CA heading towards Avery, CA. Have lots of friends that did this type of housing back in the 80's. Beautiful job! Enjoy
