      Thanks for the great recipe! Do you have to shake the jar after you put the cap on, to mix the water salt together?

    Hi Marissa, love this video! Still waiting for your fermented salsa video🤤☺. Do you ever have issue with the gas not being able to escape from the jar during the fermentation process?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! I have it coming soon :) I haven't had an issue with that. I leave them until the lid is taut, and them move them to the fridge before opening :)

    Hi Marissa! I am wondering about adding kefir whey to make fermented carrots. Could I just add kefir whey to your recipe or would it be different?

    Hi, so is this the fermenting method for all veggies on GAPS? I saw another video that used just salt and water. I want to do the GAPS way only. Also, don't fermenting create gases that need released?
    Ps you answered salt question later on in video, sorry 🤣

  • @amanysuleiman

    If you open it when the lid is not clicking up and down, will it explode?

    Thank you for this video, Do you wash the carrots? they seem dry! any issues with dirt ? I heard you don't have to wash veggies before fermenting. How do you wash ur vegetables!

    I was just watching this video again and dang I bought the carrots and I have some hot Korean garlic I will use. Dont have dill but what do you mean by a mineral salt? I have canning salt, regular Morton’s salt, Himalayan Pink salt and kosher salt? Thank you Michele

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Mineral salt is natural, unrefined salt that still has the minerals. Pink Himalayan, Celtic sea salt, and Baja Gold are my favorites :)

    can the liquid it produces be used as a probiotic liquid in gaps stage 2? probably can't eat them until later though..?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! These make wonderful probiotic liquid. The sticks themselves are allowed on GAPS intro stage 5 :)

    Will this make it possible to store the carrots for months in a cool/dark place (but not refrigerator cold) without spoiling?

  • @kimberleygarove1758

    I added dried dill to mine because the dill at the grocery store did not look good. But when I put my dill in it offloaded to the top and is sitting on top of the water. Isn’t it possible for that to cause mold?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It might, you can try adding more water. Once you move it to the fridge it shouldn't mold easily :)

    So I made these one night & the lid stopped popping the morning after. I put it in the fridge and the next time I opened the jar & tried it they didn’t taste any different than raw carrots in salty water
    Did I do something wrong?

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The jar might have been full enough to where the pressure built up sooner. I don't show this accurately in the picture :) but the jar should only be filled to the shoulder. Also, the size of jar might make a difference. I'd let it sit out until you like the taste. Hope that helps!

  • @alecschester1824
    @alecschester1824 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    You don’t have to dissolve the salt in a brine first? I’ve been struggling with my brines... made a large batch of brine and some of my jars of jalapeños got moldy and some didn’t, all filled from the same brine🤔

    • @BumblebeeApothecary
      @BumblebeeApothecary  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that! I haven't had trouble not dissolving the salt first. If you're using the same brine for all the jars, it must be another factor besides the brine. Using a fermentation weight to keep everything submerged might be good. Hope that helps!

    I thought you weren’t supposed to put the lid on tight so as to let the fermentation gasses escape??

      If you have any ideas on how I could do this, I'd love to hear, since it takes days to ferment and I film the video in one afternoon :) Dr. Natasha says to avoid table salt, but recommends mineral salt.
