I got into RC 2 years ago. I’m 45yo now! I own a 2wd Slash, a Hoss, and now the Ascent 18. Redcat is really stepping it up. Even the last 2 years. They used to lean more towards a toy. The new releases are real hobby grade giving Traxxas and Axial some competition. This is great
I saw the Red Cat crawler at my local hobby shop in the box. It looked like a kit but then I read rtr on the box then 399.00 hit the TH-cam channel right then and there. Then purchased it right after

Looks like a fun place to play! Curious if you've had any experience with the Vanquish VRD Carbon, Stance RTR, or Axial SCXPro on those same obstacles. Would be great to see a comparison from your perspective!
It’s an incredible spot. A group of local guys have continually built it into an excellent course and all-around RC park. I’ve had the scx10 pro on these same lines and I feel like the fusion did as good, possibly better because of the clearance from the portals (my pro is still on straight axles). I haven’t tried the vanquish although I would love to get one out there some day

I've never owned a Redcat before now! And after watching my sons Ascent Fusion rtr running. I bought three of these rigs, so impressive straight out of the box!!!.
Daaaang. I’ve always had love for Redcat. My first crawler was a gen7 and that’s what started it all for me. Six crawlers later I have to say this is the best looking out of the box I’ve seen from any of the big shot manufacturers out there. Redcat for the win, they’ll be getting my money on this one. 🤙🏻

The very only one thing that I can nitpick that this rig is missing for being an lcg is an angled skid. That is absolutely it. Either way, what an outstanding rtr performer.
And tbh, I'm seeing and hearing that it isn't really holding anything back on this rig...
Cool video, Redcat coming with it! I have a Redcat Gen8 based LCG rig from UGRC that is a blast to drive. This new out of the box stuff is great to see.

Well… it’s nice to have a capable rig out of the box. For seasoned hobbyist, there’s not much left to do except aesthetics to make it look different than all the other red and black ones. For the beginner, you can go straight to competitions and skip the learning curve and if it breaks, it’s cheap enough to just buy a new one. It’s just going to get better as we move ahead.

It’s not a HW fusion pro anyways pretty good looking rig…especially for red cat. Did pretty well for stock unvented tires. Red bits are a nice touch for sure. Thank you for the video

I'd like to see a Vanquish Stance VRD head to head crawl battle with this great Ascent Fusion. Because I am thinking of getting one them, first I wanted to buy the Vanquish VRD then this Ascent Fusion just showed up...oh my goodness we're so spoiled nowadays as RC hobbyist.
I’ve been eyeing the international scout 800a for a while but now I might get the fusion. Good video. Only true cape crawler fans like this comment.
The gen 8 scout is a great trail rig and the Ascent Fusion is excellent on the rocks. Can't go wrong with either one. Redcat will run 30 day deals from time to time and the gen 8 is always in the lineup.

I got the ascent 18 today (March 21) and I love it but wish it had a little more weight down low but for the price I cant complain. Now having the little guy I wanna save for this big guy😂

Metal beadlocks & some Proline tires would make a big difference but overall not much to complain about for that price.
I wouldn’t get this for my first 1/10 crawler because it would set my expectations way too high for everything else 😂

Can i put just the CF rails on my blue ascent, without the CF shock towers
So I have an upgraded 1/24 jlu, and I have been looking to get into the 1/10 scale crawlers. I was going to pull the trigger on an Axial scx10 gladiator, but now I'm not sure if I should consider the Ascent Fusion instead. I enjoy building/testing and tuning as well. I'm not sure what I should pick up now. Suggestions or comments?
thinking about doing a custom build with this thing when i get one. i just have one question that i cant find, which is, what is the length of the fusion body?
What can I do to replace the body clips? Can I change them to magnet?

what are some of the con's to balance out all the pro's you gave?
Plastic transmission gears, mediocre servo, would like to see a servo in axle option but don’t think it’s possible with this lowered motor mount. I really can’t think of much else. It’s a great truck out of the box

Drivers side slider. It's a small spot. I use Ovonic 2200MAH 3S packs and get fit pretty well.

I am a little butt hurt seeing this after I have spent 250$ at this point making my own custom from scratch and it's still missing a body and electronics. I am about to sell what I got built and buy this.
I hear ya brother. Bought my kids some deadbolts. Found myself driving them just as much if not more. Went down the SCX24 rabbit hole. Now I have a frame body axles links and odds and ends all on order. Close to $200 and still lacking electronics, rims, tires, shocks. But in the end. It’s still fun.

Except it’s red it is ok I have four red cats and none of them are my go to trucks. You can say whatever you want about this truck evidently, you have to be getting paid to be bragging this thing up as much. It’s OK.
