Kids In The Hall was no where near "dumb stupid old work" It was some the most genius comedic sketches ever. The flying pig at the ATM machine was by far my favorite :D

I loved these sketches! In college, I made a Rod Torfelson’s Armada, featuring Herman Menderchuck t-shirt by simply writing it on a white t-shirt with a permanent marker.
I think people don’t bring it up because there was no “star” of those sketches. It wasn’t like Gavin + a straight man. It was a true ensemble piece.

    Did they ever make it?

Armada's version of "The Camera Man" is still an earworm for me to this day. Thanks for giving us more back story, and for that great Black Crowes story!

Thanks for posting these, Bruce. You were my favorite guy on this show. ..just Classic. I graduated high school in 93 and it was perfect timing for my age. My younger wife was homeschooled and as a treat her mom let her and her siblings watch KITH during lunch. Ha

best ever skit ... reminded the time when when i played sax and keyboard in a band which had driven from north york to orangeville to play a pig roast .
but the keyboards lost all sound as the guitarist needed to confiscate the keyboard's patch cord. I made up for it by profuseley shredding all my Charlie Parker jazz alto licks over the metal blues.
The 'showing up having have eaten' to rehearsals' is a lament that still resonates as i enter my 5th decade as a musician.
U guys should do a feature film based on Armada making a grand come back - opening a tour at the Rivoli and get Hysterical Women to open... Long live Armada

You are a true gem Brucie. I used to watch you and the boys on Comedy Central in the 90's when i was a young dad. My wife at the time thought i was an idiot for watching the show and well, we've been divorced for over 26 years now. I dont miss her. BUT I do miss KITH! So I watch the old episodes all the time on YT, and reminisce fondly of my youth. Thank you guys for still being as poignant and true to form. I am forever thankful.

I love that final Armada sketch so much, like the rest of the sketches in that original finale it was such a great note to end the original series on. Now that I've spent some time around the Kids in the Hall (well, just half of you, but I'm sure I'll get the other half soon!) one of my favorite things to observe is this kind of "Do we make it?" energy that never went away. Yes in the sketch it's played as these kids being delusional and yes it can lead to infighting, but the sentiment behind it is the idea that whatever you make next is going to be really worth something and has the potential to reach millions of people. Maybe it's just because I'm a delusional "Do we make it?" creative myself, but I much prefer that attitude to people who assume the answer is no before they even start. Anyway, sorry to philosophize about a sketch in your comments section again. Hope you're having a good day and I look forward to whatever sketch you talk about next!

I was young enough when I watched these sketches, the first time, that I tried to use them to learn life lessons. I didn’t want anyone to take advantage of me and I always wanted to negotiate fair deals ... Then got married. Broad comedy.

Brucio (unknowingly) "trolling" the Black Crowes in their Own hometown no less, then becoming good friends and co-starring with the great rock giants Rod Torfulson's Armada feat. Herman Menderchuk is the most kismet combo in rock history!! #WaitingForSequel 😎

BRUCE help me remeber stuff.... KITH skit. its you or Dave think its you, the skit follows this kid and the whole town is on his ass about everything. skit ends with the kid walking to this biker and hopping on the back ov the bike and saying 'what they dont know is me and G-D are like THIS" then the Harley revs up and the kids in the hall music plays.
i THINK it was a cold open. been watching a lot of your stuff and haven't run into it again.
