    Lyrics:
I took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Till the landslide brought me down
Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above?
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?
Can I handle the seasons of my life?
    Oh, I don't know
    Oh, I don't know
Well, I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
    But time makes you bolder
Children get older, I'm getting older too
    So...
    I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I've built my life around you
    But time makes you bolder
Children get older, I'm getting older too
Oh yes, I'm getting older too
    So...
If you take this love, take it down
Oh, if you climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well, the landslide bring it down, down
And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well, the landslide will bring it down
Oh,well, well, the landslide will bring it down
well, well, the landslide will bring it down
well, well, the landslide will bring it down

I have 4th stage pancreatic cancer. I turned around and I wasn't young and beautiful anymore. But I can use this time of my life wisely. I accept these changes. I'm climbing this mountain of cancer. But then that's still a change away. Flow with the landslide and enjoy the ride.

One of Stevie's greatest ever... played at my husband's funeral, don't think there was a dry eye in the house. We chose the songs for his funeral together, prior to his death. Many tears shed between us.

I first heard this as it was the ending credits theme on a wonderful film set in the snowy mountains of Colorado, IIRC. I am 61 now, it must have been 40-odd years ago. I don't remember the name of the film, but I never forgot this song.

When I walk over bridges I often have to stop and look, and contemplate whether it's time to jump or not. When you start to lose everyone who ever got close to you, you see a lot of reflections. Stevie Nicks captures that loss well.

Beautiful scenery. My sister passed away from a meth over dose 2 yrs ago on June 13 the same day our brother died from getting hit by a boat as he was swimming in 1998 My sister Julie made a music tape about 25 yrs ago and she dedicated this song to us her siblings because she said it describes how she had to be a little mom to us. She was the oldest out of 6 children. At age 11 Julie ran away from home and knew that the abuse would continue from our parents she protected so many times. I cry whenever I hear this song. Julie, Corrinne and Bradely are in heaven together. I pray that my other 2 brothers will seek sobriety especially my older brother who is in prison for having too many DWI's

It's amazing how this song was written many years ago and applies to my situation in the 21st century. Years of hard work being put into a relationship of toxicity, but growth and strength were built as a result. It's okay to end an old and start a new. I'm a firm believer that music heals the soul. 🙏🏾👑😍

I fell in love with Stevie Nicks voice in 1973 when I bought the album 'Buckingham Nicks'. And I loved their vocals together and their songwriting on that album. So the natural progression for me was to follow them on as they became a part of Fleetwood Mac. When I heard Landslide in 1975, I was so stunned by the song that it brought me to tears and I could not figure out why. I was just a young woman with no cares. 36 years later after a marriage that continually broke me and broke my heart finally ended, I realized that the song was my story for the sad and disappointing 35 years that I had fully given my heart to a boy who never became a man. I still love the song so much.

Thinking of my Mom, The last year was my first without you. I wonder what if heaven knows how much I miss you. I wish I could have took the hurts you endured from your 3 sons, daughter's in law and your grands! It was just you and I till the last breath. I thank the LORD in heaven I was present every moment. I am the only one living with no regrets. Kinda crazy is it not Mom? All those college grads, the ones who were deemed most likely to succeed and have their stuff together. Mature enough to handle situations were nowhere to be found? Guess college don't teach compassion, unselfish acts of kindness or how to put your life on hold to be there for anyone. It was me your Wild, Wild Child least likely to dance to the beat of life on life's terms who endured. You were the best Mom, I know, I worried you for years. I know, you knew, how wonderful life had turned for me. You saw it with your own eyes, felt it in every touch me, your daughter learned to love with a whole heart in word and deed. I love you like crazy! I started something new. ( I do something I love everyday in your homor.) I volunteer with the elderly, give time to to sick and suffering. I smiled a lot. I cuss as little as possible. I hit golf balls almost every day. I am now hitting that 7 iron 200 yards. Yes I have learned from you life is beautiful. To never take it or others for granted. I have so much to give, so much to be grateful for. The strays and underdogs are still my thing. I am the same but a whole lot different, better to others and me.

I can definitely relate to your story sister. I too was there for my farther when dementia bested him. He worked his whole life, took care of everyone, but when he became ill seems everyone left. All those holliday gatherings we had, I thought the family would stay together forever. He never held his tongue for anyone, was very resentful of foolishness. Dad now I see why you gave some individuals a hard time. You knew that most poeple would go the path of least resistance. You knew....

I can listen to this song for hours. Over and over. It makes me sad, happy, mournful for losses in my life, blessed by all the wonderful things, all at the same time.

Love this song! 💔🤱🏻 I think of my babies when I hear this song and my Angel Baby I lost in my womb. But my children on earth are here with me all growing older and I listen to this song and it makes me remember how fragile our lives here are. I hope that we all keep growing older together. Love to you all and may you experience this blessing in disguise of growing old. 💙

I used to hear this song alot growing up, never have it the time of day. Now that I'm facing what I'm supposed to face as an adult. This song makes so much more sense. I still miss the guy that made me happy, he made me realize how extremely hard this life would be to face alone.

So sorry ... I went thru the same thing in 2002. It took me many years to get over him and the life we shared but I'm still living so he didn't completely break me. God bless you always.

This song makes me think of my dad, who went to Heaven a number of years ago. No matter how much time has passed or how old I get, I will sit down, listen to this song, miss him, and have myself a good cry.

Anita Panzine ....Many people cope with life's frustrations by becoming selfishly self centered versus being kind and opening yourself to more disappointing returns of no appreciation or reciprocity. But then they have nothing good to reflect on in their old age or before the doctor gives them the "terminal illness" news that the end is near. Many so called "grumpy old" people actually were "grumpy" for decades. Loving and caring is hard to keep doing year after year. But it's still the right thing to do. Any fool can be greedy, selfish, and uncaring. We are all flawed humans. But it's even worse to rationalize that it's somehow justifiable. In the end, few will be able to escape their guilty conscience as they rationalize their life's accomplishments in dollars but making no sense. I don't believe in karma but rather would refer to that invisible but real thing called a conscience.

Anita Panzine ....I'm sorry about your recent past. Losing both parents in such a short timespan..definitely a very tough two years. In time, I hope the sadness is slowly replaced with a good feelings by remembering all those simple good times you shared with them. Also the good times they shared together. But again, I think it's always going to have a little sadness mixed in with smiling as (this is what I have experienced) you are able to reflect on all the simplest things that now (for me) are cherished even more. I believe it's good to reflect on the past while still being aware how important it is to balance it out with seeing the present as objectively as possible. I'm sure your parents would want you to carry on and live your life as fully as possible. Talking to a close friend or sibling about our parents has been helpful for me. But a grieving process is where you still might mostly be now, which is certainly understandable. I always choose to look at others who were not as lucky as I was. Many never had a dad or a mom from a very young age. I use this when contemplating all kinds of situations or news stories. I can easily list many unfair things I have experienced but always try hard to apply perspective. I know my parents would be proud to see how I may falter at times, but understand that it's up to me (mindset takes serious objective contemplating and research for me) to get back up and carry on with dignity and determination. Reading comments from others even helps. (Ya, you have to read too many useless or rude comments to find the few comments that can teach you something new and interesting that catches your attention). Life is definitely complicated enough. But many wise sayings by apparently wise people mention that it's so important to find things to be grateful for. Check out Quora.com. It's got all kinds of easy reading teachings about people and life. I think the category I found these teachings is "human behavior" if it asks you to choose a category. I've learned that we should not try and think we have all the answers. Seek out information from sources that have the most accurate wise teachings. The comments also prove the credibility of this website to me. Most comments on that site are so well written too..... Just trying to help. By the way, the very first record me and my mom listened to was by Fleetwood Mac. Many of their songs are always going to be so special also because there is wisdom in some of those song lyrics (to me).
