    So the takeaway is, Bruce was abusing cocaine , most likely daily, and on the day of his death, again abusing cocaine , resulted in the cerebral edema, that this time left untreated , proved fatal. That makes total sense sadly.

      Ya, he was, but what if he took a big thump on the head, and didn't tell anybody, for fear of it getting out, that he was hittable. Or maybe he fell doing kicks n rocked his head. Just ideas, possibilities. 💯😁

      @@JKDVIPERThen MMA fighters would be dropping dead everywhere if "getting bopped" on the head was so deadly
      And it would also mean that Bruce was incredibly fragile if that's all it took to kill him.

      Linda has no incentive to set the record straight. For one, she would be implicating herself if she ever acknowledged the drugs. Also she is very much financially incentivized to maintain the illusion of the mythic Bruce Lee figure in pop culture - an idol which is so easily monetized to suckers.

    As an ex hardcore drug abuser ( 25+ years ) i can definitely confirm the combination of low body weight with single digit body fat, dehydration and long term cronic cocaine use is the perfect recipe for all Bruces symptoms/death 100%.

      @@TheKungFuGenius more to do with the behaviors involved than specifically a cause, as an appetite suppressant cocaine users also are not really aware of hydration levels until it is a problem, at least that is my experience. When I look at the circumstance and environment around Bruce at that first incident in the recording studio it screamed dehydration, not such a problem for a normal person, mabey uncomfortable, add in some cronic cocaine use with low body fat percentage and wammo perfect storm, hes lucky it wasn't a hemorrhagic stroke, or was it? Hmmm

    • @andym.441
      @andym.441 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheKungFuGeniusBruce was most likely more susceptible to dehydrated due to his sweat glands being removed back in November 1972. This would also explain why his kidneys were not able to function properly or overloaded . They are used for getting rid of toxins and if his sweat glands were removed , then he was not able to cool off and sweat out toxins . Therefore his kidneys also had to work more and also were overloaded from cocaine abuse and then his brain swells because kidneys are failing too during overdosing cocaine. Just an observation. Not a doc

    Thanks for Part 2… I didn’t know Bruce had previously taken equagesic. Got to agree on GoD: It would have needed reshoots. I think Bruce would have realised that the best way to express JKD was through action rather than words, just as he did in his fight with Chuck.
    Looking forward to Part 3. If it’s not already done, it would be really cool to hear your thoughts on the movements and motives of Bruce et al on July 20th. I made the mistake of mapping out the key locations of that night (Bruce’s house, Betty’s apartment, the hospitals and restaurant) and it is absolutely bizarre. In taking Bruce to QE hospital instead of Baptist it is entirely feasible the ambulance passed right past his house… did it? If so, was there a reason? And down the rabbit hole I go…

    "It was the triads..." haha. Bruce probably WAS a triad, or at least an honorary member. I mean really, he was a Hong Kong street punk in his youth and teenage years, ran around with "gangs"'in Kowloon, was friends with people like Chan Wai Man, even Bolo Yeung was a known triad back then, and in his adult years was importing (and possibly distributing) large amounts of hard drugs into Hong Kong. I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce was distributing to some of these individuals. Let's face it, in real life Bruce was less like his character Lee in Enter the Dragon, and more like Han. His biggest mistake was indulging in the product, and since he didn't have the physical constitution for heavy coke use, the drugs are what ultimately brought him down. A sad and cautionary tale! And I'm sure that the triads around Bruce would've preferred him alive, particularly with his American drug connection.

    So good. Always wondered about his final months and days and if all this could have been prevented even since being kid in the late 70's. I wonder how aware Betty was about the cocaine? Though if he done so much cocaine wouldn't he have the cocaine nose? There are the big mysteries of life and what killed Bruce Lee is one. All the countless documentaries, TV Show analysis and nothing really made sense. Hearing these episodes and now knowing the drug letter history we have an exact idea that fits and makes sense.

    Man it all makes sense now as to why Bruce died, but I didn't realize how bad Bruce might have been addicted. It was then only a matter of time and if it hadn't been in July had he taken his Delantin??(if I remember correctly)medication it would have been shortly thereafter. Or if Bruce would have experienced the impact of Enter The Dragon it might have actually gotten worse thereafter. First the immense pressure of making it in the West and then what would have been the Crazy demand across the world for new movies and interviews and talkshows. No mortal human could sustain this no matter how strong you are. The price was too much,too demanding and Bruce might have longed for those early years too, just teaching others and doing some demonstrations from time to time. And having more time with his spouse and children. Too much strife especially in his last year

    Trying to piece together the headache being the sign of cerebral edema makes sense enough…now imagine if the exact same event that happened on May 10th, happened on July 20 (the vomiting and convulsion), and they managed to get him to the hospital “in time”…in any case, it’s a very unfortunate situation…I’d like to to think that had Bruce survived, he would’ve “learned his lesson” and at MINIMUM, cut down on his consumption, and at MAXIMUM, stopped completely…

      That’s a good question and one that I thought about myself. The only thing I can think of is that on July 20 while he was having brain swelling he was not also experiencing the other symptoms he had on May 10 which may have given him the impression that it was just a bad headache. Great podcast/video, as a life long Bruce Lee fan I found this absolutely riveting. However, I must take one issue with your comments about Game of Death in which you state that had it been finished with Bruce it would have been a complete mess, I don’t believe this for one second.
    Bruce had completed 3 successful films at this stage and had just completed shooting Enter The Dragon, there’s no way Bruce would have put out a mess of a film, he knew what worked and what didn’t work for his audience. Game of Death was incomplete as far as ideas go, he had ideas in draft form, the fights were coming together, I’m sure that the reason for the flurry of meetings about Game of Death towards the end of his (Bruce) life was to start putting things together especially now that he (in his mind) had a lot more time to devote to Game Of Death which would have ended up as a coherent well worked out and no doubt successful project

    I'm not sure why the adrenal problem theory has to be thrown out. His drug use could have just made that problem worse. You said it yourself - His muscles had become atrophied from using so much cortisone. There weren't many Dr's notes on it - possibly because Bruce was getting it from Doctors without a prescription. After all, he had more than one Dr, and his main one wasn't aware of his behind-the-back use of cortisone when he was questioned about it after his death

    Great series! It's very well researched and very well put together! Please look into Bruce's use of unrefined Napolese Hashish. The side effects include convulsions, brain adema, brain swelling and death! This is what Bruce had in his pocket, when Dr. Langford asked him about recreational drug use. He warned Bruce not to use it again and that it could result in death. He was also convinced that Bruce would be hospitalized again. Bombshell! Bruce was a genetic female! Both he and Brandon had a female gait (Walk). It would be interesting to hear your take on this. Bruce also hailed from the Li family. They rank number 7, of the 13 Illuminati families. They are also known as the Dragon family and they rule over China. Excellent work! Thanks again!

    great stuff. i agree on all of your points. except, for one. i think Game of Death would have been better than Enter the Dragon. My favorite Bruce Lee film is actually not Enter the Dragon, but Way of the Dragon. And that film also didn't have a script. It's the people involve, steering the ship called movie that will make the movie what it is in the end. So, if Bruce Lee hadn't died and continued Game of Death, there is no doubt in my mind it would have been amazing. It's the people involve that makes a difference.

    To me it’s obvious in photo timeline comparisons that BL lost muscle mass in HK too. But he lost so much body fat too, so that he actually appeared to be more muscular in HK than in the 60s. Imagine if BL had actually been on a baby dose of steroids losing all of that body fat in HK without losing any of the muscle mass he brought with him from the States.

    • @TheKungFuGenius
      @TheKungFuGenius  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The problem is this is an assertion about a baby dose for which there is no evidence, not one letter to Baker mentioning steroids, not one doctors note, not one person claiming even to be the supplier… Nothing. It is a lot easier to keep muscle than it is to gain muscle. If Bruce was just mildly working out, which we know he was actually doing much more than that, maintaining his muscle mass would not be an issue. It’s easier to maintain that gain, that’s just sports physiology.

      Are you talking about Kwok Fu spewing a bunch of made up nonsense? Yeah, I saw that interview.
      When Yip Man left China for Hong Kong in 1949, he never went back. That meant he never saw his “original” students again, and more likely than not did not even communicate with them anymore.
      So with mainland China being a big brother surveillance state starting in the 50s and 60s, how did Kwok Fu manage to get all of these crazy stories when he did not even know the names of any of his teacher students until most likely after they became famous and his teacher died?
      Where was all this “information” coming from? Did he have access to Google in the 1950s and 60s? Was he on 50s era online chat rooms lurking for info?
      Pure nonsense. Claims made without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

In reality, bruce was a hard knock older wiser dude then, he had lots of physical pain as well. I can speak from experience on his kind of training, it really rock the body something fierce. He had a type of punch, and kick, that used the whole body, spine, and it really shakes your guts up a bit. Just an idea. Maybe he bumped his head too i was saying to somebody else. ✨💯

    Alex, have you watched the Autopsy last hours Bruce Lee episode? When I watched it I did some research and found real medical papers that describe the seemingly minor symptoms Bruce experienced in the ETD period to 20th July, through to brain swelling from adrenal crisis which seems to be what happened on May 10th and 20th July. Just wondering if you have have a reason to doubt the (seemingly logical) explanation that the long term cortisone injections and subsequent adrenal issues would explain why the oedema happened. I have just as limited knowledge of medicine as you do, but there’s just so much information online that corroborates the verdict given in the Autopsy tv show. Maybe you can talk about it in a future episode?

    • @TheKungFuGenius
      @TheKungFuGenius  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The so-called Cortizone injections don’t seem to be in his doctors notes for the last couple years of his life while he was living in Hong Kong. From the initial injections he got after his back injury, cortizone injections are not regularly referenced in these records, nor did they seem to come up as something in his inquest in which every doctor who dealt with him was sworn under oath to discuss these things openly. Also, given that they seemed desperate to try to cover up the source of his cerebral edema, had Cortizone injections been a regular thing that he was engaging in due to an injury I don’t see why they wouldn’t of just blamed that as the smoking gun to take the heat off the more nefarious things. Why weren’t Cortizone injections brought up at his inquest? Why is there seemingly a conspiracy to hide that but discuss the cannabis instead? Because there’s no evidence! A book is written in the 90s with a narrative people accept and then try to shoehorn it every time there’s a discussion about Bruce Lee. That’s the problem.
      It’s not about whether it’s logical or not, there are many logical things one could say Bruce “could have” been doing. His kidneys were clear during the autopsy and had normal function yet everyone screams that he was in massive adrenal crisis. Ok, fine.
      We now have 50 letters corroborating that he had a very intense cocaine habit, especially during the final time of his life. Cocaine when used regularly causes nearly every issue that Bruce Lee was having at the end of his life, from his weight loss, to his erratic, and sometimes violent outbursts, his facial twitches, and ultimately cerebral edema. Tom Bleecker did not know about the cocaine use, therefore had to come up with some other “smoking gun” to explain all of these issues and for him it was diuretics and Cortizone. If we follow Occam‘s razor in which we make the least amount of assumptions given what we know, on balance of evidence, we don’t need to insert things that he might’ve taken for which we don’t know when we know he was taking cocaine.

      Hello Alex, appreciate the long reply to my other comment which I have replied to. I am in no way trying to suggest I know anything and from a medical perspective I definitely have no idea whether the adrenal crisis thing could even be theoretically correct.
      I think some are saying (no clue if there’s a shred of evidence or not) that he would be getting the cortisone from a shady source maybe, since a credible doctor (nowadays at least) would know there a danger in overuse of cortisone and would not supply it for long term use.
      Keep up the great work! 👍

    • @TheKungFuGenius
      @TheKungFuGenius  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If we get a doctor script or note that Bruce was regularly injecting cortisone leading to kidney issues, I will totally add this to a list of factors. Until then it’s a needless assertion without evidence and can at this time be summarily dismissed.

      Definitely not trying to insert any additional theories anywhere. Both my comments were from a point of view of “could the adrenal thing be the cause?” . It’s beyond doubt that Bruce was using the C since at least 1970. I was approaching it from a point of view of “could the medical expert on the TV show be correct + there seems to be lots of evidence that cortisone misuse (yes I understand we haven’t been shown this as evidence, but until your video, nobody knew about the C misuse) can cause things like change of skin colour etc. I’m a massive Bruce Lee fan and couldn’t care less about anything that isn’t the truth but I find it interesting to see if any particular theory might actually point to the truth. Anyway, I can’t let you get away with ignoring the main issue….. when are we getting the Dreison hypotheticals??? Hahaha. Keep up the great work on your channel sir!👍

    My thing is… The repeating things is a huge red flag to me. Those witnesses (Maria Yi Bob Wall Kareem) said he had the amnesia… but yet he had amnesia & wasn’t concerned about it & wasn’t talking to his doc about it? Where are the records from his doctors saying “Bruce came in complaining of amnesia/repeating himself?” I haven’t heard any. And these witnesses to the amnesia say he was repeating himself but don’t seem to say that he mentioned to them “Listen. I’m scared about my mental health. I’m repeating myself & it scares me. Somethings wrong with me…” Or.. “Doc I have to admit, I’ve done all these drugs, could that be the reason i almost died?”… Nope! Instead he just DOESN’T admit to ANY doctor to having a poly-drug addiction that COULD’VE contributed to him almost dying May 10 and then goes “Well turns out I’m fine! Doc says I have the body of an 18 year old. Back to business!” As for the possibility that he OD’d, I’m not sure coke or any of those drug letter drugs will cause cerebral edema when overdosed, not to mention none of those were found in his system at the autopsy. So many puzzle pieces to his death just don’t come together. After the May incident it just seems like he just carries on as though everything’s fine instead of putting his life on pause to care for his health & make change to his lifestyle that could prevent that from happening again.

      The fact that Betty married Charles Heung in the years after her time with Bruce Lee, and that she briefly became a Buddhist nun , are equally irrelevant to the discussion. There are no signs of foul play in his autopsy, nor are there any poisons in his system. Linking the triads to anything related to his death just because some people around him knew or even worse, were later associated with triads is a point not worth making.
