This case solved all of my problems. I am about to order another backup one as this is the perfect solution if you are hiking. I have tryed different sets but the problem, as i am climbing and shaking the camera, something gets loose, special the audio cabel that fits into the audio adapter. This case solved that problem. It took 3 weeks until i ordered it to i had it but god, this is a revolution thing:)
Been using the same cage for just over a week now and loving it to be honest, the only difference is I am using the Edutige Dual Microphone ETM -001 for Action Camera and been real impressed with that as well, a lot smaller and more discreet that the Rode mic, which (for me) was a bit too big. Cheers Alan
Good vid, I just got one of these cases and love it, also if u push the red mic wire into one of the notches on the mic tightening mount it’ll keep the mic taught n stop it bouncing,
Rather than plugging the cable straight into the GoPro like you did, flip the cable upside down to make a loop, then plug it into the GoPro. Won’t pop out. 👍
Yes, thats exactly what I was going to say. I did that with mine and the advantage is it tucks the cable in a lot closer to the GoPro. So asthetically it looks a lot neater too. Best designed case out there on the market and about a 1/3’d of the price of them all. Love it.
Got one a couple of weeks back on eBay (UK) for £9...I use the hot shoe for my led light and plug in an edutige mic into the adaptor with a dead cat. Agree with you on the cable stiffness...time will tell. Put a hot shoe adaptor into the hot shoe to raise the videomic an extra inch. Great review as always.
@air photography, give the gopro mic adapter cable a twist and make look like a half bow and it will stay in. upside down works too, but the twist gives it the perfect tension
thanks for the video brothr i just got my rhode mic today and now i know how to set it up thanks to your video, i just wished the adapter wasnt so exspensive
On your recommendation I bought this case and am generally very happy with it. Thank you. However there is one major drawback I am hoping you can help me with. You cannot add an ND filter to the Gopro (Hero 7 for me) when in the case. Do you have a recommendation for a case that will do what this does, but allow for ND filters? I've been unable to source one. Thanks again.
I received mine a few weeks ago. As others have said you need to flip/rotate the cable around in a half loop for better fit. The main downside to this case is the poorly designed and over recessed access to the touch screen. Send is no ability to mount a side cold shoe. Due to these issues I’ve reverted back to the old aluminium cases.
Cool case but needs another shoe mount on the side above the mic input and a cover to stop the lense getting scratched. Also would be good to use filters, I've herd it difficult to use the touch screen on the Gopro whilst using this case.
I noticed your mic has a TRS male connecter. I thought the GoPro mic adapter needed another adapter which is a TRRS Malle to a TRS female adapter. Can I just use a TRS connection straight out of the GoPro mic adapter?
Great review. I have really been enjoying this case. I think it was built really well. I have heard, that we will be able to get a 2nd get version that will allow us to use ND filters on the GoPro in the case.
This would be ideal as I am not using mine because of the inability to mount filters. All they need to do is change the front to round lense adapter with thread, that way screw on filters will work
When i use this mic with my gopro hero 7 black all it does is pop and crackle ive turned off wifi and quick capture and nothing works, do i need to just get a new mic?
This product could be perfect if it was possible to keep the lens protection then be able to fix a hood like on the aluminium version. Great review 💯👌🏼
Now this case has been delivered..perfect! Thank you for your review! Do you know if there are filters that are suitable for this case? I haven't found yet...
Push the red cable into the notches on the video mic screw base and that will keep the mic secured and the windshield / dead cat out of the field of view as it pulls it up
I have the case but I’m waiting for my mic adapter to come in, i ordered it from GoPro over 3 weeks ago and it’s still not shipped. GoPro is slackingggg
I think I had read they were out of stock, I also read another forum that they are now back in stock and starting to ship again. So hopefully you will get your soon 🤞
Air Photography sweeet I was wondering if they maybe discontinued it and re designed a new adapter that is only the cable without the box, idk we’ll see
With the go pro microphone adapter it actually has a microphone jack on it plus a USBC port So you can plug it in to power while you have a microphone connected
Is there any chance you can make a video about the dji osmo pocket mic adapter and whether it is compatible with the gopro? I know it is probably not a good idea but I would really like to know from someone who has access to all these items and can give a responsible answer.
Air Photography Not really. My question is can you use the dji mic adapter with the go pro without causing any damage to each of them. I suspect these adapters are having electronics so they may not work with appliances that were not meant for them. Also when you first presented the adapter I noticed that there were many viewers that were asking the same thing.
i love that! do you think it will be available in Philippines? I am vlogging on my gopro100% and a rig with a microphone would be great for the sound. any chance you'll be giving this away to your subscribers?
@@AirPhotography I've contacted Gopro on Twitter. They replied: it is not discontinued but it is not yet in stock and they don't know when it will be. Smh

howzit bru, are there any other microphone adapters for a gopro hero 7? I want to get into motovlogging but don't want the massive gopro adapter stuck onto my helmet. Thanks
I am curious if you don't plug in the microphone to the adapter would the audio be recorded? I am looking for a way to record without picking up audio. Thanks for your thoughts!
@@nonroadusr I am doing a research project in which we will need to record without audio for confidentiality purposes. Removing it after is not sufficient.
Do you use a gopro? I don't think you can mute it Hero 5 and 6 are terrible in audio, you can always tape the Mic or film from in a glas of water. I would use a DSLR camera ,without attaching the mic or a plain webcam without mic
@@sosteve9113 good suggestions, I am going to try a waterproof case as there are reports of getting no audio with those. A web cam is a great idea but possibly not good enough resolution, also, I thought they were all wired, but I haven't really investigated that.

Yes it pulls off and reattach is very easily. It is designed to come off so you can mount the camera in the frame and still have access to the charging port if needed
GoPro should have a built in mic jack which would solve all the problems!
One can only hope… Maybe with the hero 8
I just got the case delivered and will be vlogging early next week with it! So exciting!
Tip: use the notches on the Rode Videomicro cold shoe screw to clip in the mic cable and secure it!
Damnit why is there no audio test lol

Is their a way around the 60€ microphone adapter? Bit expensive for an adapter and takes 3 months of shipping for me because it´s out of stock..
Maybe a black zip tie to close that loop up from the microphone. It would make the pressure push in instead of out.
Good idea I also found plugging it upside down worked well
Love this setup 🔥
Have you ever tried the movo vxr10?
One thing I don't get is why the microphone adapter is so expensive? Aren't there any knock offs on the market that we can buy?
Very nice I need the whole setup send me the setup information please 👍

Hi, Great video. Just wondering if you would see the deadcat while you are using the gopro with the stabilization running?
Using the external mic adaptor; how can you weatherproof the external power opening of the GoPro?
Just ordered mine, i will use it with the saramonic mic and with a small led panel on top for night shots

Can you give an equivalent case for the go pro 10 or will this fit?
Hey, will the gopro adapter work with the gopro hero 7 white and silver? Or is it just the black?
Turn the cable so it bends at the top. It releases the tension. Nice upload.
Is there any settings in particular that I should program the GoPro with with that Mic
Thanks for the video! I just ordered this case!
Is there any non go pro brands for mic adapter?

Does the Osmo pocket adapter work with the gopro?
Is this only the black for the case
Does it work with the hero 7 white

What is the name of the Mic use for go pro can we use that mic without go pro case

We're can I get the microphone adapter
Are there any gopros that you can connect a microphone to directly, without adapter?
Unfortunately, no, there is not
@@AirPhotography nevermind, ended up buying the Ghost XL. 9hr battery life and really inexpensive external mic was a deal breaker.
Does the Fusion grip fit inside the Casey?
Unfortunately not it’s a little too long. A good alternative would be the Shorty. But it doesn’t give you near the reach
Thanks a lot ❤
Now that GoPro has discontinued the mic adaptor, will the case still work with the new one?
They haven’t discontinued it, they just ran out of stock. I got mine just recently directly from GoPro. Free delivery and arrived same week.
I've got one already, they're brilliant. How it took this long though.
How did you remove the door? Does that attach and detach easily?
Yes it pulls off and reattach is very easily. It is designed to come off so you can mount the camera in the frame and still have access to the charging port if needed
Oh ok, gotcha. Good to know. Thanks for the response.
Nice set up, but while doing that you are missing the waterproof feature.
Im gonna buy one but im always kinda eary if i take off the side caps and it gets wet or something
ND Filters compatible?
BUT are any of these cases able to fit into a gimbal. Like the Feiyutech G6?? Seems like all of them take away your gimbal stabilization.
Do you get a lot of background hiss with that mic? For me it sounds worse than the internal mic
does this not work with a go pro 7 silver?
I love you Are Minimalis you tube creator. I also use my i Phone for shooting video.
How do you transer 4k video from i phone to the i pad?
Ordered 2 yesterday.
Wish you could attach filters to it, otherwise its really nice.
Hows the durability of the material??since its plastic
Is it compatible with isteady gimbal?
Not the casing, just the GoPro itself
good gopro
I want to buy that all Setup but I am here in Saudi Arabia. I dont know where can I buy that please help me I want to use that for my vlogs.
