We live in Africa and although African bees are not as bad, as they said, they can get pretty aggressive. As a kid my brother was riding his bike behind a huge tractor mower. It hit a beehive and they went for brother. He was some distance from home. He dropped his bike and ran like crazy. My mom heard him screaming from some distance and came to meet him. His head was completely covered in bees. She had the presence of mind to push him in the swimming pool and dunk him over and over. He felt like she was drowning him. He spent some time at the doctor's office having bee stings removed from his head. It was quite frightening! Strange. He doesn't have a huge fear of bees and neither do we. We just took it in our stride. A bit of a freak accident.
I can see at least two areas that need amendment. The hood of the Bee Suits needs a rigid face that extends further from the nose and a more powerful smoker should be used from the start. These guys are way too desensitized to the danger of their work. Take Care Guys
As the bee’s move north they are forced to grow more worker and less warrior bees, due to tougher climate, resulting in more docile killer bee hives. I saw that tidbit in a killer bee study.
While deployed to Ethiopia we would have queen bees fly into our aircraft hangar and for some reason they (the ousted queen) would land where the laser altimeter was. Soon after the entire side of the aircraft would be covered. The only way we could remove the bees was to close the hangar door about an inch. For some reason they didn't like that. I have pictures of me having hundreds of bees swarming around me in blue jeans and a collared shirt. We had a local lady almost die when she got stung and got swarmed. Luckily we were ae to drag her inside quickly.
Of course he got stung on the nose. That mask should have zero give to it, almost like a fencing mask. If a strong gust of wind blew that mask against his face, or he fell face first while it was covered with bees, he'd be screwed.
"Risks his life on his job to keep us safe" That's sensationalism and an exaggeration. In Brazil they use Africanized bees for honey production, in fact, some will insist that they're superior because they produce more honey. The honey production in Brazil thrived with Africanized bees. They replaced the european bee population eventually because they outcompeted them. Brazil adapted to Africanized bees very well and they have managed to benefit from them.
I don't understand how bees like this can live up north where it's cold most of the year ? Also I wonder if the soapy water will work on wasps and carpenter bees
That's awesome! What the heck do you do with them all?? is that your main job? How long does it take to tend to them daily? I was just told to stop asking so many questions....ugh 🙄
@@Philamosity I know that beekeepers in Brazil use Africanized bees, they've replaced the european bees completely. But they'll actually tell you that africanized bees are superior, they produce more honey and they're better pollinators. They actually see it as a blessing lol
Since we are trying to eradicate these bees, why not attack them with a rebreathing suit.and a pesticide fog when we are finding them. ? To find the nest and let them go does not make sense.
I know, that was my first thought when I saw that. Why on earth didn’t they put her/him inside? I would look after my German Shepherd first before any human being!
Who the hell would live in a place like this with so many deadly creatures? I see a spider and I have to kill it. we have no such things up here. I'd be afraid to sit on my front porch or back yard down there damn!!!
Yes, the VAST majority of bees in a colony are female but they do not lay eggs (in the normal course of events) so unless you actually identify a drone (male) bee, please do not use the masculine pronoun when talking about bees!
Between the Boarder of Kenya and Ethiopia, the geography is that of Arizona; in late 2020 they stung to death a 60 year old man then on August 2021 they stung 2 kids herding goats on the hill top! These are killer bees
Beekeepers get stung on a regular basis, like every time they collect honey. In Brazil they use africanized bees for honey production, as crazy as this sounds, they actually benefited them them.
why dont they have solid netted hoods like we do in the UK. Theres no way they can sting your nose or face then. I thought he said he was an expert!! what a rookie mistake!!
a mate of mine has been sorting out bee hives for over 30 years and has only been stung twice ever. This guy in the U.S. has been stung loads in one video. rookie
I really don’t understand why they don’t suit up better, wear multiple thicker suits, hats etc . . his apprentice should NOT have gotten stung 25 times on his first day
Thankfully your likelihood of being killed by africanized bees is virtually zero. Only two people per year die from them, IN THE WORLD. of course safety precautions are important but I feel as though the dangers are a bit exaggerated sometimes. That attack in that little town was insane though

It’s pretty funny that not only does all the migration from africa destroy the west’s economy/safety etc, but also nature because of the bees lol.
I like how he is driving the van calmly while bees are flying everywhere trying to kill everything

Too much smoke can be as bad as too little smoke.
Beehave Chris.
They are becoming more docile, People in some parts of the world swear by them doing an amazing job with pollination, honey production.
I have leant more about you on this video than eny you have done you are fantastic thanks j wolf 🐺

That must be very rewarding.
I can’t believe the man who left his dog on a 4ft rope to fend for himself.
see the cameraman isn't wearing a beesuit because they're a cameraman and we all know they're not only immortal, but they're also invincible
Do removals at night. They are less agressive and you have the full colony.
Baloney not true with these

"killer bees dont respect borders" lmao
I didn't know they were the only bees left in Arizona
Reed sings a totally different tune on his TH-cam channel
Yes. He is a thinking person and has learned and changed as he’s gained more knowledge.
I don't understand how bees like this can live up north where it's cold most of the year ? Also I wonder if the soapy water will work on wasps and carpenter bees
Is there a charge for removing Africanized Honeybees?
Yes
When the bees go we go with them
Not true. Only 40 percent of our food crops depends on pollination by bees. 60 percent are not. You're spreading false information.
I have 17 hives of African killer bees and I love the little basterds

@@lrn_news9171 that's wild!! Bees are so interesting, but I'm deathly allergic so I have to admire them from far far away

Reed's bee suit can't always protect him., his head thing doesn't have any bone to keep the front from touching his nose, that's his choice lol.

Worst spot for me was on my eyebrow..my face was on fireeeeeeeeeee..glad the stinger wasn’t so deep and I found it
they are nuts
What about the DOG!
Not a black widow. They should have a halo cage in the mask to make sure it doesn't touch his face.
I feel like they don’t smoke to make the bees to go into a frenzy
That poor dog
I know, that was my first thought when I saw that. Why on earth didn’t they put her/him inside? I would look after my German Shepherd first before any human being!
they should wear a shield on the nose
Yes
Something so simple and easy. Maybe a piece of tape or something like that …
First of all if you can put your face up against the mesh and get stung. YOUR NOT PROTECTED !!! I cant belive the incompetence

I could fix the sting issue with, let's say... some cigarete filters and duct tape😂🗣
The narrator is wrong. The females sting. Males don't. He keeps saying " the bee leaves his stinger" and so on.

@@derekporter7651 don't tell me what to do. You ain't my dad and the word "bee" is a feminine word in many languages. Polish, Spanish and etc.
After watching a 50 minute video on bees you say this. Acting like it’s gonna change the world.
Give me some honey to Liverpool please bro
You can probably order online, his honey is wonderful.

Sounds like they need to design a new bee suit. Looks like there are plenty of ppl up for it. With all sincerity why don't you take on this challenge?

Bee suits are worthless for real lol has to be better brand or way to keep from getting stung
Why isn't he wearing a mask?
