it might seem like an easy song to learn, but it's Eric Clapton. Once you learn your first Clapton song (mine was this) or your first Led Zeppelin song on guitar or something, there's a great sense of accomplishment because these are the greatest songs, and they're really fun to play
@@BlackBlood74 isn't that just the most amazing feeling? Guitar can do so much to help me with mood and accomplishment and fulfillment it's crazy! Music is amazing!
I agree! A lot of Clapton songs are hard. But I learned Layla as my 2nd beginner song and it was so fun to play and really easy but it sounded hard! I'm going to learn a Led Zeppelin song soon.

my wife and I bought guitars to have something to do together. I was getting frustrated and close to quitting cause I couldn't play anything that sounded like a song. found your videos and all that changed. thank you so much for your videos. one request tho.. sweet dreams the remake by Manson would be awesome.
You’re a very talented musician and the tutorial is great. However, having the tablature at the bottom of the screen would be great and would make it much easier to refer to especially for beginners such as myself who struggle to find the right fret instantly (I still have to count sometimes hehe).
Bro you shouldn’t be learning this if you’re a beginner. It will be long for you if you can’t utilise the fret. I’ll wait and play a easier song for now. 👍
keep at it. It took a while for me to catch on too. That was 60years ago and I’ve damned near learned to play! Lmao. Use the fret markers as reference points. That helped tremendously. Good luck and keep on rockin’
Really enjoyed this lesson as I've got home, grabbed the guitar and the common question of... now what just came, so this lesson came and I had a great time. Thanks Marty

Thanks for another great lesson. Whenever I start to feel like I’m always just playing the same old songs I check out your amazing catalog and find something new and fun to play. Have a good one. 🎸
This was the first song I played with my first band at my first ever gig including my first ever breath holding solo. Fall of 67 in the junior high gym. The bass players dad made us two strobe lights using a motor, flood light and a plywood disc with a hole cut in it. The kids all freaked out when we turned those on. We were the talk of the school the next day and broke up the following week. Show business! Great job Marty!
Thanks Marty . I’m 68 and have been noodling on guitar for I’m afraid to say how long . I finally decided I just need to learn to play songs. Gotta start somewhere. Thanks again. Practice, practice and more practice.
After a year of watching your videos and practicing with acoustics, last night I finally got an electric guitar and can now play with the distortion 👍 this was my first riff
There has never been a better time to learn. The resources are amazing. Which ones though? There are so many that are just fantastic! Some maybe not so much. Marty is always just right. Not too hot not too cold. Always just right.
Dude I'm the one who's stoked! Every time I watch and learn from your videos! Been messing with a guitar, trying (maybe not enough) to do it right for many years now. You are so talented and giving, and I'm glad I found your vids. You're so inspiring, you make me want to make my guitar sound good! Thank you for taking time out of your life to make these videos for us! Rock on, brother!
Oh man great amp! I used to own a DC-3! I was broke and had to sell mine years ago. I miss that amp so much the EQ, reverb and ability to switch channels with full controls. It was the a screamer and seriously the feedback I could get with my Les Paul was insane!
Thanks for going slow and explaining in clear easy to understand grammar. So nice you play it slowly at first and repeat several times. This is pretty much the only way I can learn (yeah I'm a little thick). Wish this had been available 20 years ago when I was starting out and couldn't afford lessons. Oh and thanks for showing that d minor pentatonic scale in there and explaining it. You the man Marty!
That helped me out sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!
I just watched Eric Clapton play this live ..and Marty shows you almost exactly as Eric plays it!! Ive been playing it wrong all along!! Now Ive got it right!! Thanks Marty!

Marty I've been following your videos for about 8 years now, so just when I started. You are an amazing teacher and imo the best guitar teacher on TH-cam. Thank you for doing what you do! I've learned a lot from you and I am very grateful!
I was out in the garage doing garage stuff when this song came on the radio and thought to myself "self...you should learn to play that", so here I am at 3am sitting in front of my laptop playing this song. It literally took all of ten minutes for you to teach it to me. You're awesome, thank you very much.
@Daniel May been playing for about 2 months now and I definitely agree with you now, its really satisfying to listen to a song and to say to yourself, " oh thats what hes doing" and then play it spot on, its a great feeling.
