They had a crazy, passionate, knock down, insane love affair. Two very beautiful people.
McQueen was the best of the best. He lived life on the edge and took no crap from anyone. Still missed by many to this very day.
And it was said that even tho he and Ali divorced, he still loved her until the day he died.
I do miss him.

What kind of love ? You mean the kind that fizzles out after a few years like Steve McQueen and Ali Macgraws did ? Lol I think most people have been there and done that amigo ( that ain't " love" it's just infatuation love goes the distance ..those two didn't ! not by a long shot !)

@@robingagan6288 life doesn't bear close scrutiny. I just think they were a beautiful couple, lived in extraordinary times and had the opportunities many of us didn't. They had choices and it was obvious (from a distance) that there was real love between them.
@@blackbird5634 any of us can look back at old photos in which we're smiling and having fun with someone. We tend to remember the good times. But she was married when she met him. If we are realistic our good times werent so great, only the few good moments

I just adored this video.... I love to see pictures or photos of ali and Steve together.... Sad that their mariage did not work they had so many personal issues they never resolved..... But anyway the attraction was electryfing ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I second @elvispresleyworldwide recommendation. TKSITP is a great docu about 70's era Hollywood. It's Robert Evans' memoirs to be specific (narrated by the man himself, no less), who, as a Steve & Ali fan, I'm sure you know, was Ali's 1st husband (as well as chief of Paramount pictures), the one she was married to, and consequently left, when she met McQueen. You get an account of the affair from his POV (he wasn't any saint either)...and come to the conclusion that, for a preppie intellectual, Ali sure had a thing for the brash unapologetical, über alpha males. A must-see! 👍
Even her husband knew. He told himself that he was crazy for encouraging her to make the Getaway with McQueen. He said he couldn’t even be mad at her

Nice couple and you see the love and big sexuell appeal between Ali and Steve. You see this by the picture of William Claxton, see the same by Neile and Barbara. I think he loved all this women with every fiber of his heart. Now he's dead, long time gone, but every Movie you watch you can feel the spirit by this man. My favorite movie is the Sand Pebbles and Enemy of people. There is a man he'd picked up troubles and he loose. This is human and not the superstar. I read that it was because Steve didn't want Ali to do anymore movies. He wanted her to be a stay at home wife, which she did do... but in the end, she missed the work and finally told him she had agreed to do a film, and he told her "then get out, I want a divorce." Her career flopped because of the extended absense, and she'd signed a pre-nup that would give her nothing if she left the marriage, so she lost out all the way round. McQueen was difficult with his women, so it was rather sad.
