so for the electric only trains: any train that is colored blue on Metro North can only run third rail and runs on only the Harlem and Hudson lines? Also electric trains colored red can run both third rail and the caternary and run only on the New Haven line?

Metro north has M7A M3s for the Hudson line which run on the third rail, Harlem line the same case probably, The M9s (red trains) Run on the NH line and run on catenary systems only
The Hudson and Harlem lines have third rails and are color coded Blue and the New Haven line is color coded red, Which the blue lines run third rails while the Red line runs a caternary system
