I've tell 4 of my siblings. 1 of my sister like to watch BL. They don't react badly, they sometimes ask, "do you really don't have any lust for girl's?" I guess that's a regular question. I didn't take it badly though. As i only replied by "idk". Even so, i still don't have the confidence to tell my parents. first things first , I love u & your dad; he’s literally the best I’m- anyway one other thing I would add about coming out is because I’m gay myself, I know the struggle of having homophobic parents and just having homophobia in the family in general , I’ll say that if you feel that your safety might be jeopardized, like you could risk getting kicked out or being homeless, or because you depend on your parents financially, as much as you want to come out you may have to hold out until you have a place to go, a place of your own bc that can be really hard . I definitely agree with your dad that you shouldn’t come out on social media since it may be better in person, and most importantly, you shouldn’t live your life hiding- u gotta b u , ya know ? and if they can’t accept that, that’s their fucking loss . I will say it’s hella exhausting having to pretend all the time but it does help that you build that outlet of people you can trust- whether that may look like another adult you trust, another family member, or even- especially your friends. because in the end, they become your family. there is a whole community out there who will support you and give you true unconditional love .
