Alright man, I know this is a little old but i can still answer those questions for you. Personnaly,I think decals over clear is the simplest way to go,but you can achieve a magnificent decal job by wet sanding your clear over your decals (CAREFULLY!!!). This is what I do for most race cars for example. After that, you should always paint the trims after your clear coat and polish stage. They are usually painted in flat or semi gloss black so applying clear over them would not be a great idea.
what tamiya primer did you use? Also were can I buy the paint that you used for the finish off the body, and in what other colors can i get them in? lov your videos, u got me into model cars (working of tamiya porsche carrera gt)
nice tutorial mate! I'm from Australia as well and you mentioned an automotive clearcoat? where can I grab some of this stuff and how much does it cost? thanks!
I'm doing that kit now as well. It's my first proper kit, excluding the model airplanes I bodged together as a kid. Do you prime all the parts, or just the body panels/major parts? I couldn't get Tamiya primer so I got generic plastic primer. Will that do? Loving your videos.
I've posted another comment on another one of your vids, but err...after priming the model, you have to wet sand? Can you wet sand with a sanding stick? or can you use a sanding sponge?
Hi I am building same kit as yours and I have couple of question I am going to use all tamiya paint as the instruction manual recommend First I want to place decals under clear coat any tips? or advice? or I better put it over clear coat? second question is should I paint the black strip (x-18) all around the body after or before clear coat? I am going to use Tamiya's TS-13 clear coat. Thanks
When dealing with prominent sink marks that won't be hidden by other parts (such as right now, I'm working on a 1/32 Revell US snap 07 Shelby GT500 - the hood has 4 of them on roughly each corner) what kind of putty do I need to use? The kind with acetone in it that will shrink, epoxy or filling putty, or something else?
I got this same exact kit and the rear part of the body is too big and doesn't line up with the front part of the body or the rear bumper. What do I do?

Please mate, turn off that music, it's very irritating. I wanted to watch your video, but I simply couldn't put up with the noise.

Be kind to the earth, get yourself a paint booth and filters. Especially the 2k is very harmful to others
Worst idea ever painting outdoor...
