    Conducts the audience and they finish in perfect pitch to rejoin the orchestra. Genius.

    Watch him on solo piano at his home with his version of "Fix You". Hearing the hammers on his upright just adds to the emotion. Never a dry eye.

      I second this request, Jacob solo at the piano is just a whole other type of comfort. And like you said, the rawness of the recording just adds to the effect. I also love his Make Me Cry (Mahogany Session) for this exact reason.

    Every time he begins to conduct the audience as a choir, and I understand that immediate uniting of human spirit, will, and mass communication… I’ve become teary-eyed. Jacob is unwittingly or wittingly, making people work together with ease. He’s doing something that politics can’t achieve and religion has dropped the ball on for millennia. I’m not putting Jacob on a saintly pedestal, but I think that people that want to change the world should take note and find ways that cause people to want to cooperate instead of trying to make them do what you want. When you’re already doing something amazing, people want to participate. ❤❤❤❤❤

    Kudos to Jacob and Jules Buckley for the orchestral arrangement, which he did at his concert at Royal Albert Hall several years ago.

    Jacob's arrangement of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is incredible in a different way from his live performances. It's in his arrangements that you can most fully experience his deep and inventive chord changes. "Bridge Over Troubled Water" is a great showcase for this.

      @Joshsclips 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    • @carcolevan7102
      @carcolevan7102 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I should have clarified, because I see there are actually some 'Bridge Over Troubled Water" live performances from Jacob on TH-cam too, but the version I'm referring to is the studio version released on his Djesse Vol. 4 album. It's the completely opposite end of the spectrum from his live performances in that it is fully composed and constructed from many takes, each phrase recorded separately and layered. It showcases "composer"/"arranger" Jacob much more, and "performer" Jacob a bit less, though he still sings all the backing tracks. The singing from the leads is spectacular, so there will still be plenty to comment on from a vocal perspective.

    Vocal coach John Henny also just reacted to this video and he said a lot of the same things that you are saying - that everybody can sing. He said something very interesting, that before recorded music, everyone sang - at home, at church, wherever - but once recorded music came along we got used to listening to professional singers and it became "they can sing. I can't sing." th-cam.com/video/W34CvrTUGqM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IINs7TOYAebi7yHB&t=715

    Jacob's progressions are often surprising, even in his re-harmonizing of familiar songs. This was relatively simple, but the recurring Sus-2 served to add his trademark uniqueness.
    And why oh why does his audience involvement ALWAYS make me cry??? 🙏

    I saw Jacob live a few days ago and got to experience a crowd of 8,000 people singing with him. It was unbelievable live. One thing about the crowd for context, I'd guess that 80% of them have had some musical training (myself included). I'm not sure that just any musician could do that kind of thing

    If you want to see Jacob in NOT a low register, check out his 8 and a half minute video recording the Tori Kelly's vocal parts for Bridge Over Troubled Water (which you should do a video on anyway just because of how completely insane Tori is), but he sings all the parts to her and she then sings them back in her insane voice, but in singing those parts, he hits an Eb 5. :)

    Greetings, just wanted to bring to your attention, if you see this, that Jacob has recently posted the official video of the the first live performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water with both Tori Kelly and John Legend included. I think you'd enjoy it greatly- however, I'd definitely recommend listening to the album version first on Djesse Vol. 4, since it sets the stage for how impressive the live performance really is...
