@@ChezMclegend, you’re thinking about the Challenger disaster in January 1986. This post is referring to the Columbia disaster in February 2003. I remember thinking someone was trying to break through my garage door.
US military has missles like that. I have a video on my channel called test missile in South Korea and I has several colors. Also El Paso has Fort Bliss, one of the biggest US Army bases
It was most likely a space launch. That time window, depending on the time of year, would be just about right for what you describe, depending on your location, the location of the launch, and the targeted insertion point. You would have seen that cloudlike trail of colors as you describe, most likely it would have been whispy and kind of squiggly back and forth, and if it were while the launch vehicle was still ascending, it would have had a bright dot at the tip with an expanding V trailing behind it at the front of the trail of colors. If it were after the launch vehicle had shut down its engine, then the bright point of light at the front wouldn’t be there and the trailing V would be expanding from the tip in something like a \ / instead of a V, or just be missing entirely, because that part of the plume doesn’t last like the whispy colored clouds do. I saw one of those about 15 years ago before I had any idea what they were and it was really hard to find anything on the internet about it because it was so rarely seen back then when all launches were done by NASA or the government and there weren’t dozens of commercial launches every year. I was mesmerized by it, but also not completely sure it wasn’t a sign of world war three or some kind of end-of-world catastrophe. It was beautiful, though, and I’m super glad I got to see it! You should Google “dusk or dawn space launch” and check out some of the images of those - you’d almost immediately recognize some of the photos or videos if that’s what you’d seen. They’re common enough now that you can actually find examples online - particularly from launches from Vandenberg Airforce Base on the coast of California.
Every time we see this it reminds to prideful human beings who think to be so intelligent that there more evoluted beings exist and that evolving is a Neverending search

@@boldenbey6607 it's traveling sideways at orbital speed, just skimming the top of the atmoshpere. By the time it slows enough to "fall" downward, it will probably be not on fire anymore.
@@boldenbey6607 It's similar to dropping a bullet and firing one at the same time. If the gun is parallel to the ground, both the dropped bullet and the fired bullet will fall at the same rate. The bullet wouldn't look like it was falling to the observer because they would be too focused on the sideways motion, but it really does fall as though you just dropped it. A satellite will do the same thing when falling to earth, but the sideways motion is even faster than a bullet. All satellites have a high speed parallel to the surface of the earth, that's how they stay in orbit. If they drop below this speed they begin falling, but even when they do they will still be moving many times faster than a bullet.
I remember seeing a meteor in 2013 that eventually exploded in Russia. It was so fast that you didn’t even have to say something, it was a huge fireball. That there was no meteor shower. Too slow. What a great video 🎉
Really nice catch! Quite rare to see the fireballs breaking up like that. It's very distant hence the slow speed, probably only just scraping our atmosphere. On August the 11th there will be about 100 of these per hour because we'll be going through the Perseid meteor storm, but most won't be as spectacular as what you've filmed, thanks for sharing :)
@@thatsgasgarage9843 I think one of your other commenters may be right when they say it's a piece of space junk, it looks to slow to me now to be a fireball. But keep an eye out for the Perseids on the 11th this month :)
Man. I’ve been lucky enough to catch meteors enter the atmosphere 3 times so far in my life. All have been in the middle of the day. The ones I have seen look like they’re coming in almost vertical and burn up pretty damn quick. Quick enough if I wasn’t looking in that direction I wouldn’t have known it happened. One time was pretty spectacular. My GF and I in the car waiting at the traffic lights when one came in and broke apart with some spectacular colours that burned bright even in the blue sky. If my memory serves me correctly we saw green and pink flames. But still this has nothing on what this lucky bloke was able to capture. In the evening too! Coming in at that angle to skim across the sky like a stone on a pond. Man. Beautiful stuff.
I was at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan in 2003 and saw a red streak across the sky going from west to east. In the newspaper about two days later, a meteor had struck in India. Mystery solved. ☄️
It's not falling if it's going sideways? Ive seen shooting stars, falling stars, and meteorites. Always at an angle! This was a great and very unusual catch. I hope all your wishes come true always. I'm so glad you caught this, thank you!!😊
It could still be falling, but on a shallow or very shallow trajectory. Also, Meteors only become Meteorites if they survive the journey through the atmosphere & the impact with the ground.
I saw this happen back in 1997, it was space junk that fell from space and broke up when it re entered the atmosphere, it was seen throughout the central and western US. It was extremely beautiful.
I doubt that. We have billions more space junk now allegedly and this is non seen ever. This is rare as hell. I do not even think there are Satelights in our orbit. All our internet and cable TV is landline. Has always been.
@@WeveGotBush my understanding is the debris will continue “falling” in an orbit-like path until gravity eventually wins out over centrifugal force and the debris then falls to the ground/ocean if there is anything left that hasn’t burned up.
@@WeveGotBushwhen you launch a satellite or what have you to orbit you give it tremendous sideways velocity in order for the centripetal force to counteract that of gravity. When the orbit eventually decays due to trace amounts of gas in the way of the satellite the lowest point in the orbit will enter the atmosphere. The satellite still has tremendous sideways velocity, just slightly less. When in the atmosphere the satellite will compress the gas in its way causing the gas to heat up. The hot gas turns into plasma, the plasma glows, hence, streaks in the sky.

A couple of years ago, I witnessed something unusual in the sky-a vibrant, cloud-like trail of colors. It would be amazing to capture it!
Cloaked alien craft
US military has missles like that. I have a video on my channel called test missile in South Korea and I has several colors. Also El Paso has Fort Bliss, one of the biggest US Army bases
@@JustinThisWorld777 The trail was very low. It was like 3 something in the morning lol
A rainbow perhaps?? 🤣 I’m just messing with ya!
Looks like meteors or falling space debris or falling rocket debris. Thanks for posting ! That's a spectacular display.

@@boldenbey6607 it's traveling sideways at orbital speed, just skimming the top of the atmoshpere. By the time it slows enough to "fall" downward, it will probably be not on fire anymore.
What if it was three slow? :)
JK....
Too slow.

What you metion should be falling not traveling across the sky.
