Elsa Irshad No, Maria Callas was a soprano; this is a tenor aria. Supposed to be sung by a man. If you want to hear how this was originally conceived, I suggest checking out Jussi Björling, or Luciano Pavarotti. Maria Callas was one of the greatest singers of all time, but sang only arias written for her voice type. And the whole opera is gorgeous; L"Elisir d'amore, by Donizetti.
but I heard it sung by a woman in a movie and I could not find the name of the woman who sung it. And she sung it with emotions, that is why I was wondering which woman singer was the one.
