I saw this movie in Italian. It's amazing in all ways: Aestetically, cinematrographically, politically, and all the ways you can ask to find in a movie. Absolutely recommended.
And the Italians felt always a particular attraction to the Russian culture and literature: "Le notte bianche" ("White Nights": 1957) by Luchino Visconti, based on Dostoyesvky, "Dark eyes" (1987) by the same Nikita Mikhalkov, based on Chekhov, a Soviet-Italian production, starring Marcello Mastroianni and Elena Safonova, or "Il Cappotto" ("The Overcoat": 1952) by Alberto Lattuada, based on Gogol, who died in Rome in 1852, etc. And other recent Italian movies that play between fiction and reality as "I demoni di San Pietroburgo" (2008) by Giuliano Montaldo or another version of a great Russian novel: "Resurrezione" (2001) by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani, based on Tolstoy. Finally, a beautiful film that depicts the Italian participation in the invasion of Russia in the Second World War, but above all a story of love: "I Girasoli" ("Sunflower": 1970) by Vittorio De Sica, starring Marcello Mastroianni and Sofia Loren. There are some mysteries: why were the Italians so interested in Russia? A possible answer is that the Italian Communist Party was the most important Communist Party in the West during the Cold War. There are many other possible answers.
большое вам спасибо за публикацию этого! Друг из Москвы порекомендовал мне посмотреть его, но найти его в Англии было невероятно трудно… Вы решили мою проблему.. спасибо вам! ))
Nice Soviet movie! Much symbols: the main actress as the symbol of the Revolution, and the thick fog, the unknown future of the revolution, etc. The movie represents a point, where tragedy meets politics, love and the fight for the success of revolution! A nice quality movie! Thank you! 🤗🤩💚
And the play between cinema and reality. The movies can have a happy end, but the life almost always ends very sadly. The name of the movie that they are making inside of the movie is the same name of the film. When there is a "mise en abîme" ("place into abyss") like this case, someone could lose the real frame (the film) that contains the story and the movie inside the movie. The movie inside the movie can have a happy end, but the film (the real frame) ends in a state of uncertainty. The main actress is the symbol of the Russian Revolution, but the train is also the symbol of the Russian Revolution. Nikita Mikhalkov has other symbols in his movies: the burning sun is Stalin in "Burnt by the Sun" (1994), the ship that is sinking is the Old Zarist Régime in "Sunstroke" (2014), etc. In "Come and see" (1985) by Elem Klimov the airplane (the eye that sees everything) is the symbol of Hitler or Mars, the God of War. As always, Mikhalkov tries to reconcile his aristocratic background with the Russian Revolution, but the choral point of view of this movie is from the aristocratic people, who are the followers of the Old Régime. The movies that the director makes inside the movie are bourgeois melodramas. Finally, as always it is present the endless nostalgia of the movies of Mikhalkov.
@@pabloklanian7283 You developed the movie very well! Sorry: English is not my mother tongue, so I could not explain as you did! I never knew anything concerning Mikhaïlov, but you gave me some ideas about him, and I thank you very much! In general, whenever the channel posts a movie, I try to give a brieve analyse, with my poor English! I hope you succeed in understanding my com?!! Thank you for your answer above! It was very instructive for me!
@@ounzarine5487 Thank you, my friend, for your comment! I forgot to say something more about the relation between the movie that the characters are making and the real life: the movie is harmless with regard to the real life. When Olga shoots Fedotov, he remains unhurt. I appreciate your interest in Nikita Mikhalkov: a great director. See you!
@@pabloklanian7283 I agree with you totally! Also i have to add that the train at the end it is yes the Revolution but also is Rev. Russia hershelf alone on her own path after the Revolution. Mihalkov i think, he is critisize that... Generally Mihalkov critisize history through his films!

I watched this film for the first time only today, in Belgrade, in a house built by white officers who lost to the communists. I am 42 years old and have lived in St Petersburg for 39 of those years. Without a deep understanding of the context, it is impossible to fully understand this film.

¡Es una película bellísima!
Шедевр спасибо маэстро ❤
"Эх, Ольга Николаевна, если бы не Вы - шлёпнул бы я всю эту кинобанду...". Как же хорош здесь Григорьев!
