Man Maliek, I've been searching all morning for this video. I just didn't know that it was called a "Jump Cut" until I searched your library of videos. I've wasted about two hours and all day yesterday trying to figure out the name of the "movement." Your mini tutorial was Dope as with all of your content. Thanks So Much!!!
Glad I subscribed to your channel bro. Now I'm jump cutting my talking head in our upcoming vlog. Your tutorials are easy to.follow and execute. Thanks Maliek.
A simple but very effective effect. In my opinion you had to add a bit of blur to the background just like you use in the fil or in interviews where the focus behind the subject is blurred. Hi Maliek.
It’s a great way to make a smoother video, thank you. What’s an Aspect Ratio and why is it important? I usually just change the zoom in the picture itself, after double clicking, without doing anything about the aspect ratio. What am I missing out on?
Swimming And Living You’re not missing out on anything if the image looks like you want it. Aspect ratio is ratio of width to length. 9:16 is portrait and 16:9 is landscape.
Very nice. Thanks my friend! Do you zoom back out later to maintain the higher quality of the video? And do you just split the clip and reset the zoom after the split?
You split the clip and zoom to whatever parameter you want. The quality of the video depends on the resolution you shoot at. The higher resolution you use you will maintain quality when you zoom in closer.
Understood. Thanks, but my question was about zooming back out or do you stay zoomed in. The video did not show how to restore the zoom but I think I know how to do it. Thanks 🙏
The Blessed Ones You split the clip and zoom in or out to whatever parameter you want. If you need to zoom out or in to improve the quality that is what you should do based on your needs
bukomafriq When you zoom you lose some of the top and bottom of the video. Knowing this, you have to change the y acid to move the video down. I mention that in the video. It is something that is know about zooming in.
You can take a snapshot of a video frame using PowerDirector but you need to use a photo editor to change it from a snap shot/ image to a thumbnail. I don't make photo editor tutorials. There are a bunch of tutorials on how to make thumbnails on TH-cam.
Another great tutorial from the main man! 👍
Thank you.
You make it all easy! Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome.

Yes, it works very well. A tried and true technique.
Slick! Now, I have an idea when someone might have made a mistake during a shoot.

@@StudioDaVeed I think lots of new stuff. Get ready.
I don't know how you knew to choose the change to the Y axis, the width and the lower position. Is it just trial and error?

Heard a other TH-camr say that you should have a jump cut every 2 seconds. Thoughts?
Depend on what type of content you are creating, your pacing, etc. I don’t think there is a certain amount of time you should use for jump cuts.
Hi in my jump-cuts some times the sound becomes un sync. How can i fix this?
I have not experienced that and I'm not sure how to address it. Try asking on the PowerDirector Forum.
Hi please let us know how to make TH-cam Thumbnail. Thanks
