i reckon greece was bigger, people have heard of some leicester players befor like huth inler fuchs. how many of those greek players have u heard of. plus the whole league played poor
That was an 'in game shock'. Liverpool went 3-nil down and came back to win, if Liverpool hadn't gone so far behind it wouldn't have been a shock, the result itself wasn't too unbelievable. A bit like many games with great comebacks Newcastle v Arsenal 4-4, Leicester v Man United 5-3 recently. The shocks in this video were all matches/complete tournaments that the pre occasion predictions were the total opposite to what actually happened. (apart from Brazil v Germany)
The Coupe 15 I think that's what Copa90 were getting at. Haha (Chelsea fan), thought I'd pop that in there for any Arsenal fans reading it. All the best for Sunday :)

defending's part of football, after we were down by 3-0 we could've just gave up and let milan have the win. But instead, we kept our heads up. attacked. had the comeback, and tried to defend the draw from there on. long story short, we won the champions league from 3-0 down.

i'd say; - Holland 5-1 Spain - United 8-2 Arsenal - Chelsea 2-4 Bradford - MK Dons 4-0 UTD - Wigan winning the fa cup against City - Leicester 5-3 United - United 1-6 City - Aberdeen beating Real Madrid in the ECWC (under Sir Alex) - United's whole 1999 season - Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid - Defending world champions Italy finishing last in a group consisting of New Zealand, Paraguay and Slovakia! could all be there, but i think wigan beating city in the FA cup final, bradford beating chelsea at stamford bridge, spain conceding 5, arsenal conceding 8 and ITALY FINISHING BOTTOM of the easiest group in world cup history should definitely be there
Ajax 1 - 5 PEC Zwolle in the KNVB Beker final? Ajax went up 1-0 in 10 minutes by a wondergoal. Their fans threw fireworks on the field after 15 minutes and PEC Zwolle beat them to win the cup with 5-1, a club who just promoted from the Dutch 2nd league.
Middlesbrough getting to the Uefa cup final in 2006 with 2 amazing games against Basel and Steau Bucharest where they had to pull off nearly impossible comebacks in both games. Unlucky to lose in the final but was still brilliant how they got there.
Thedeezy567 i was also strangely glad as a hungarian that they left out the 1954 world cup, which is probably the most historic upset ever. germany lost 3-8 against hungary in the group stages and came back from 0-2 to win the final 3-2 against the same team. it played a huge part is making german football what it is today.

CheerioKeary Okay fair enough, personally I believed that the Liverpool team in 2005 was better than you make out. Milan were still a tough opponent I suppose.
in 1954 Hungary were the best team in the world. with players like Puskas and Kocsis they were favourites to win in the final, especially after being undefeated for 4 years. but in one of the biggest upsets in world cup history, West Germany( as they were known at the time) defeated the 'Magnifecent Magyars' 3-2 from being 2-0 down.

I am Brazilian and believe me, Brasil died after that. Nobody new what happened, if you were in Brasi on the 7-1 you would chose that for the number one.
Westgermany against Hungary in 1954 should be mentioned too. Hungary was the worlds strongest football team without doubt. And Westgermany was a noname in football at that time.
Three months later the champion Greek squad was beated against Albania. Tirana went nuts! Sellers gave free beer to everyone. Celebrations everywhere! We had just defeated the European Champions!
Brazil 1 - 2 Uruguay - 1950 FIFA World Cup Final in Maracana whith 200.000 Brazilians in the stadium. Even more, if the match had finished with a draw, Brazil would have been the Champions
Copa90 you should had put in the number one the "Maracanazo". Brazil lost the World Cup final in the Maracana against Uruguay in front of 220.000 people

Happened in world cup 1998

What about Costa Rica led the group of death in the previous world cup?
wasn't the group of death
The Coupe 15 What was then?
The Coupe 15 Yeah because England, Italy, and Uruguay were shite team, not like the world class group such as group c. Get your head out of your ass!
kelvin oktavianus never said those teams were shite. I just believe that group G was the group of death
Italy, england, and Uruguay were better champion contenders than USA, ghana, and Portugal. Just my opinion tho
Kasierslautern winning the Bundesliga in the first season after their promotion to the first league in 1991.
It 1998 not 1991. But yes this was the best Performance ever. I don't know if this has ever happened in any other league.
Costa Rica deserve a spot on the list in my opinion. Leading up to the tournament people joked about us because of the group we were in and absolutely no one thought we could win a game let alone top the group. Reaching the quarter finals and nearly the semis is a historic feat.

I was actually expecting to see this in the video... Disappointed.
yeah that was pretty amazing
GO LIVERPOOL
Jacstar Redman It was pretty lucky I would say. Apart from the six minutes spell, Liverpool defended the whole match. Milan should have won 10-3...
defending's part of football, after we were down by 3-0 we could've just gave up and let milan have the win. But instead, we kept our heads up. attacked. had the comeback, and tried to defend the draw from there on. long story short, we won the champions league from 3-0 down.
bisma mitch Yeah, well, the revenge came two years later for mighty Milan! :)
Top shock in football #11 Liverpool qualifying for 2014 CL
MK DONS 4-0

Spain 1-5 netherlands?!?!

i guess it's not mentioned because netherlands aren't underdogs :-/
Spain are good, it just happens that Spain were not inform. It was also not mentioned because it was expected, and the Netherlands are a pretty good team.
Procrastinator Kakol It wasn`t expected, most of us expected the opposite, that we got beaten by 5-1.
***** but 1-5 and 1-7 at a world cup in the own country with a record breaking klose is just a shock higher i guess...also i guess they dont chose 2 matches of the world cup 2014 so that match was the biggest surprise of the whole tournament :-)
The world cup semi-final Brazil vs Germany 1-7 was my favourite Football game of all time.
Rubin Kazan beating Barcelona at the Nou Camp would have been an honourable mention.
i'd say;
- Holland 5-1 Spain
- United 8-2 Arsenal
- Chelsea 2-4 Bradford
- MK Dons 4-0 UTD
- Wigan winning the fa cup against City
- Leicester 5-3 United
- United 1-6 City
- Aberdeen beating Real Madrid in the ECWC (under Sir Alex)
- United's whole 1999 season
- Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid
- Defending world champions Italy finishing last in a group consisting of New Zealand, Paraguay and Slovakia!
could all be there, but i think wigan beating city in the FA cup final, bradford beating chelsea at stamford bridge, spain conceding 5, arsenal conceding 8 and ITALY FINISHING BOTTOM of the easiest group in world cup history should definitely be there
Come on HELLAS , Sikose to Sikose to. Unbelievable scenes, greatest year of Greek football and also Olympic games on the same year!
In1997 FC Kaiserslautern won the Bundesliga the same year they `ve been promoted. The manager was......Otto Rehhagel
22 years ago.. And the Danish People are still very proud !
1992 just happens to be the year, I was born as well !
A lot of Danish kids must've been born between 92-93.

I don't think they'll include Dutch Cup matches into top 10s like this. It sure was a major shock in Dutch football, but internationally not so much.
LordofLifeable because they only know what is happening in the uk

Greece did it once but as much as i'd want it to happen again, it's not going to happen in a million years.Good job guys. You made us proud in Greece.
In the 1990 World Cup Cameroon were not first time out qualifiers as they had originally participated in 1982, interesting list though.
Uruguay vs Brazil 2-1 World cup 1950?????
a big one for sure
If it is in 2014, im sure dat Luis Suarez is biting Brazilian defenders such as David Luis and maybe Marcelo

Wigan winning the 2013 Fa cup against Manchester City and Leicester winning the Premier league were also good shocks
good list as usual!
CSKA Sofia vs Bayern Munich from 1982, semifinal of European cup was shock. My team leads 3-0 'til the 18 minute but the game finished 4-3 for CSKA.
what about Brazil against Norway. Norway won 1-2 in 1998

Birmingham beating Arsenal in the Carling Cup final 2011
not a shock because they are 1 league difference and birmingham used to be premier league also
leeman401 it was the biggest upset in the history of the carling cup
One of the reasons that Greece won is because they had an awesome goalkeeper, Antonios Nikopolidis (rated one of the best goalkeepers of the decade).
Man City VS QPR last game of the season. Man City were down 2-1 and had to win to win EPL. They scored 2 in extra time winning the EPL.
SO HAPPY TO SEE INVERNESS ON HERE
Only came here to see if Caley v Celtic was on this list

The shock England will never talk about.
The Miracle on Grass.
USA 1-0 England
1950 World Cup.
Copa90 you should had put in the number one the "Maracanazo". Brazil lost the World Cup final in the Maracana against Uruguay in front of 220.000 people

south-korea with guus hiddink world cup 2002?
And where is Hungary's Golden Team that almost won the World Cup and completely humiliated England? Never a central-eastern European country didn't reach that high yet!
Oláh József Botond That's a very, VERY good point.
Oláh József Botond If only we were as good as in the golden years. After all we almost got in last years world cup had it been for The Netherlands... :/
Oláh József Botond That wasn't really that much of a shock tho as Hungary was the best team in the world back then.
joelout well...to reach that as a country little country from the Soviet Union...I think it's quite a huge blast :)
Oláh József Botond Nowhere on the list, that Hungarian team was beast and had tons of respect. Not ever close to shocking.
Nurnberg for being relegated the seaon after winning the bundesliga? Kaiserslautern for winning the Bumdesliga after being promoted that year
