I feel she is pleased to have so much ease now in the upper fifth octave but I feel she needs to redirect her focus on her pitch and runs, but mainly pitch. Without good pitch, the performance can sound all over the place.
I've always tried to figure out what's the deal, cuz tbh with Demi i've always found that her runs were not as pleasant to hear compared to other singers and I don't have the knowledge to explain what bothers me. It's as if somethings is always off. Sometimes her improvised runs don't fit the music, sometimes they don't sound well or smoothly executed, sometimes it feels as if she's yelling the notes, idk. Is it pitch issues? Is it musicality issues? I see how easy it is for her to hit the notes, but the overall result doesn't sound that good? If somebody with knowledge could analyse, please do.
A lot of people critic her technique but I always when she changes her technique she takes a good amount of time to solidify it and then when she rests and goes back to the higher notes somehow her voice can just nail it. The A5 in Sorry not sorry is a perfect example I never thought she would get the technique perfect but now she does that not like it’s nothing. It’s like we are watching her train her voice in real time
I love her new ease but her musicality has suffered so much lately. Messy runs that don't fit well into the song, pitch issues, and so many extra high notes that they start to lose impact. I feel like if she could use her new technique but go into the upper 5th octave less often she will sound less like she is just screaming in most of the songs. Its odd bc i feel like when she came back with DWTD era after her hiatus she had her best musicality with well placed runs and better control over her falsetto.
I'm 100% with you on this. I feel like all she cares about right now is hitting high notes and showcasing her range. I'm a huge fan of high notes but not at the expanse of other vocal aspects like pitch and control. I don't enjoy listening to her singing live anymore and it makes me sad because I love her.
GREAT Concert highlights . . But STEVE PERRY flies ABOVE, almost by a FULL OCTAVE in some cases of Demi's notes. (And in my "Hey-Day", so could I. But most female singers can grace these notes . .
Don’t come at me but I am somehow not a fan of her tone on those high notes. I‘m impressed how she can hit those notes but it doesn‘t sound pleasant to me anymore like in her 2015-2017 era (even early Holy Fvck era). At this point it kinda sounds like screaming, even those F#5/G5, not mentioning Bb5
her tone was never that pleasant hitting high notes in 2015 - 17 she just mainly chest belted them and mixed sometimes. she learned how to use her mix properly nowadays.
@@i_lovejamarion I know shes using a healthier technique and mixing heavier but Im just not a fan of that tone, high notes are not everything in singing, at this point I feel like she is overdoing/oversinging
@@markowsky_01 eh,actually in this concert she stayed pretty chill with the vocals compared to a year ago, she actually went very easy on us this show. it’s not like last year where she was giving us G#5’s - B5’s every concert she did. i think it’s something you’d just have to get used to at this point cuz demi isn’t going backwards with her technique at this point. plus with a voice demi has you just gotta be patient with her. she’s continuously learning how to improve as a vocalist and she’s already come very far i can’t imagine what she’ll sound like in the next 5 - 10 - 20 years from now
I’m sorry but nobody can “scream” Bb5’s consistently and always hit it every attempt so far. Whether you like the tone or not it’s clearly something consistent
I never thought it was possible after everything she's been through and now being in her 30s, but I feel like she reached a new vocal peak here
You don't decline at 30, it's quite the contrary usually. Did you see Kelly Clarkson, her voice is crazy good and she's 42.
@@KayleJudicator maybe you're right. Both Kelly and Xtina are good examples of this.
@@Julioccribeiro Yes, Demi still has many years to blow the world with her beautiful vocals before declining.

She's pitchy at times but she's also singing all these insane notes live! Queeeeen! ❤
She was rarely pitchy. Most times she's on pitch.
@@moragev2606 That's what I said.
2:27 the exact moment where she change the chest mix to a heady mix, i LOVE this womaaann
U can see shes so into it, so conscious about her singing

Absolutely
Some of the raised high notes don't fit the songs or because of the pitch issues they sound off
I agree. Ease is down pack, now it’s time for mastering control and musicality.
I agree. She should work on more with her pitch and runs, would love also for her to work more on her head voice and vibrato.

@@W19-m2e a few runs ain't gonna counter OP's point about a lack of musicality.
Anyone!!! Is soo good vocals
It seems like her voice is getting higher naturally just as she ages just like Sia and Celine

umm she sounds amazing 😢
Demi’s tone is very unpleasant nowadays. I wish someone would sit her down & tell her there’s more to singing than (screamed) high notes.
THIS.
