Really enjoyed this run-through of your memories and favourites - I fully agree with you on the classic series waves of 2008(?), but it made me think too... this was a range that was a complete surprise when Character Options released them, I don't think there was any notice at all that they were producing them. So my own experience at the time is that Woolworths was the big seller for the New Series figures, the 'Go-To' store for them, and these new Classic series releases only turned up in a local independent toy-shop in my town (Blackburn).
They were a real surprise to see. And a little expensive as well. I bought most of them from this shop, but the price scared me off buying all of them, at that time anyway... the question you leave with me by sharing your memories is whether this range ever did appear in big stores like Woolworths? I never saw them anywhere but this local independent Toyshop, and looking back I was blessed by this choice of shops, as both Woolworths and this local toyshop no longer exist... it's a sad sign of how the high streets are declining unfortunatley.
DID the Classic series range appear in Woolworths etc, or am I right in thinking they were actually hard to find at the time...? Character Options did seem to be taking a risk with them, that's my memory of the time. I can see big shops like Woolworths turning them down given their oddness and harking back to a series of television Doctor Who from 40-50 years ago...
Again, Thank-you for the lovely video!

I’m sure the modern stuff was in Woolworths. I believe the classic stuff was primarily in Underground toys & forbidden planet stores
