Hello. I have been researching on MIM. Apparently top colleges dont have a very high GMAT cutoff for this. Also, it is specified for top MIM programs that they want an average experience of just 1 year (Mine is 2 years. Engineering Male from India.) A lot of people dont really look very interested in picking up an MIM. This looks too easy to pursue and too advantageous. Is there a catch?
Hello Sir, Thank you so much for the videos! Really helpful. I have a few questions regarding MBA and MIM/MS courses. My background: I was working with KPMG for a year and I have a bachelors in business economics. Additionally, I hold a diploma in banking and finance. 1) Given the visa and immigration conditions, would it be a wise to consider US as a study destination? if not, what should be the top 3 destinations? 2) Should I target MIM rather than MBA? Thank you!
Thanks for the feedback Yamini! To answer your questions, 1. Many MiM/ Ms programs are STEM programs - which means the time they let you stay in the country after you finish your program is longer by 24 months, giving you a longer time frame within which you can sort out the visa scenario. Moreover, if you do your program from leading schools, and get recruited by top firms, visa processing and job opportunities are not much of a hindrance, even in the current scenario. There are good finance programs in Canada, UK, and in Hong Kong as well that you can check out. 2. That decision is entirely yours to make. You will be better off applying to an MBA program with around 3 years of experience. Decide which one works best for you. They are both good career moves though!
Hello Aakriti If you are looking for a career in finance, you should go for Master in Finance. Alternatively, if you are open to options or would like to look at a general management career, MIM would be a better choice.
From an immigration perspective, Canada is a great choice at this point in time. From a pure brand recognition point of view, some of the European MiM programs are among the very best in the world.
Hi, Many programs also accept the GRE score. The number of candidates applying with a GRE score for MIM and MBA programs would be limited and in a class, a maximum of 10 to 15% percentage of the students would have been admitted with a GRE. Of course, this number would vary from school to school, so we recommend that you check the school's website. If you have a GRE score, go ahead and apply with it. If you have not started preparation for the two tests, we recommend that you check out the test pattern and see which one you will be more comfortable preparing for and then make a decision accordingly. If you are indifferent to the two, then go for the GMAT simply because it is the more popular test for these programs,
Hello Pritam You could take the GMAT by December so that you will be able to catch application deadlines for Sep 2020 intake. The time window available to prepare will not be sufficient if you plan to take the GMAT in Aug-Sep.
Hi! I am a Chartered Accountant having around 15 months of work-ex and planning to apply for MIM in some colleges in Europe ( like LBS, HEC,ESSEC etc). I have some doubts regarding the same and it would be really very helpful if you could provide me with some answers or suggestions: 1. Considering the fact that I would be graduating in 2022, what do you think would be the job scenario at the that time. 2. I have heard that it is difficult for an Indian to secure job abroad, especially in countries such as France and England, due to language barrier and visa issues. So is it worth the investment ? 3. And how much value does MIM program from a top institute in comparison with MBA from Indian colleges hold in India ?
Hello Yash ESMT is a very good school. A relatively new school. However, has established a good reputation in these short years. If you are learning German and would like to pursue management education in Germany, you should apply to ESMT.
Hello Sir, I already have an MBA in Tier-3 college in Marketing . I am currently working in a reputed Private Bank of India as Sales Manager with 2 years experience . Which would be the right degree for me considering my experience and already having MBA in India . I am considering to study again because I feel the MBA which I have done is not enough when it comes to skill and I want to get exposure in international markets .
Hello Shreyas An MBA will be a better degree. But I would recommend that you give yourself 4 to 5 years gap between the two MBAs. It will be easier to justify why you are looking at a second MBA better at that point than now.
Since you have an MBA Marketing go for a different subject this time ,if you are aiming for international go for MBA in International Business that would be a good combo with your MBA in Marketing. Now as said by sir Data Analytics is a big thing now ,so if you wish to have a career in say Market Research which uses a lot of data analytics an MBA in Business Analytics would be helpful. But one important thing whatever you do ,do it from a good B-School or University.
Hello Shivanshu Many schools accept both the GMAT and the GRE for admissions to their MiM program. However, a few may insist on a GMAT score. Please check the website of the schools that you are likely to apply to for acceptance of GRE scores. If the schools of interest to you accept both scores, choose the one that you are confident of cracking.
An addendum to the earlier reply - good schools will require either a GMAT or a GRE score. If a school admits without either of these scores, check its ranking in Financial Times before applying to the school.
Hi team Thanks for such great video. I have one question . I have done btech on 2020. After that I have joined mnc and i have 2 years of experience . So should I do mim/msc/mba in business analytics ?💡
Many thanks for the feedback! MIM would be a bit difficult as you would be having 24+ months of work experience while applying for next year's intake. For MBA, this year would be the right time to start your GMAT prep and apply to universities by Sep-Oct so that during the admission process you would be having 3+ years of work experience (which is the requirement for most of the business schools) Feel free to reach out to us for any general discussion on the above topics at 95000 48484. We would be more than happy to help. Best wishes!
Hello Bunny Bhaavan Not all MS in Management will qualify as STEM. Schools will either explicitly list them as STEM courses on their website or will provide an answer if you ask the admissions team. Usually quantitative finance specialisation and analytics specialisation qualify as STEM. It is best to ask the school before deciding to apply.
Hi Bunny Bhaavan The AWA and IR sections are important, not just for admissions to MBA and MIM programs, but also for future internship and career opportunities. Some employers, depending on the industry that they are in, like to look at the scores to determine your ability to process and analyse information and to present your critical analysis.

Hello @Naveenvenakt Achuthan Yes essays and recommendation letters are required for 95% of the schools. Hello Divya In short yes. However, keep this fact in mind - unlike the selection process of many Indian schools in which a cut off is used to screen candidates, the selection process of top schools outside India does not single out one criterion. Hello Paigamber You certainly can do MiM after completing your BCA. Some schools may require you to take the GMAT / GRE. Others might provide you an admit based on language test scores (IELTS / TOEFL). Cheers

Hello Raja. A GMAT is necessary to get an admit from good colleges. In fact, I will not recommend joining colleges that do not ask either for GMAT or GRE. If you are in your final year, you should start your GMAT prep now. You can apply for MS in Accounting without any work experience. Work experience is needed only for an MBA program. Hi, Sir! Thank you so much for the video. I wish to know a little more about the Masters in Business Analytics program. Pls let me know how I can contact you. Thank you!
The proportion of institutes that accept your GMAT score for their admission into their MIM programs is much higher than GRE. In some lower ranked colleges, only ielts is required. But the job oppurtunities are very poor. Best wishes!!!
Yes! It is recognized the world over. However, note that the opportunities for an MBA are likely to reward you better financially than those available for MiM.
Hello sir, I have just completed my bba I was wondering if I am eligible to apply for ms data analytics Or is it essential to have a degree related to IT Is a science degree.
Hello Simranjeet PR process is different from a student visa. You may qualify for PR in a country if you meet the criteria set by that country for PR. And that could happen even without an MIM degree. Having said that, completing a masters degree in a country will improve your chances of getting a PR in that country.
Hello sir, What is the scope of an MIM degree in India? Say i have completed my MIM from UK and worked there for 2 years. Will i get good opportunities in India if i wish to move back?
Hello Shivanshu After about 2 years of experience what will matter in your ability to find good opportunities will be the nature of work experience and the brand name of the organization that you worked for. If the MiM is from a recognizable brand name, it will certainly help with the opportunities. Ideally, one should look at around 5 years of international experience after any degree abroad to leverage the value of having studied outside India. Cheers
Hello sir I’m a final year medical student studying in India . I wanted to go for healthcare management in Germany after doing my bachelors from India . For the same , I was planning on pursuing an MBA from Germany but I have zero work experience (except the internship I will be doing in the hospital ) . Can you help me figure out a decent alternative or a better option ?
Yes! You could get into MIM programs as a fresh graduate. MeM - I suppose you are referring to Masters in Engineering Management. You will be eligible for those programs too. However, note that MeM programs focus on Engineering domain while MIM has both general management and other management specialisations.
All schools accept GMAT. Quite a few schools accept the GRE as well. If you have already taken the GRE, apply with that score. Writing a GMAT may not be necessary - especially if your GRE score is good. If you have not taken either of these tests, I will recommend GMAT.
Many schools accept both the GMAT and the GRE for their MiM program. Please check the websites of schools that you are interested in to confirm that they accept both scores. Because you have already started your preparation for the GRE, you should go ahead with the GRE if your shortlisted schools accept the GRE.
All schools accept GMAT for their MiM program. Some schools accept the GRE as well. Having said that, please check the credentials of the school if it admits students without either of these tests. The ranking of such programs will be questionable. Best wishes
Hello sir I’m done with bms which is 3 years course. I want to pursue mim should I go ahead with 15 years of education? I’m planning to give gmat n go in 2020.
Hello Aparupa Many schools will accept 15 years of education for the MiM program. Please check the website of each of the schools that you are interested in applying to and then apply. If their website does not mention any information on this fact, please send an email to their admissions office and they will reply with clarifications. Bottom line - apply only after confirming with the school that they admit students with 15 years of education.
Hello sir I am currently a final year bcom student, I have targeted the following college for my MIM(Grande Ecole) in this order HEC Paris > EDHEC >ESSEC I want to improve from profile to be selected for these institute, I have an average academic record 80+/70/7cgpa Please help me as to how can i improve my profile, will be really helpful sir
Sir I am doing my computer science degree but I really I wanted to do MBA but as you said I need uo finish masters in abroad am I eligible sir for doing MIM is that a valuable course do I get work in abroad after finishing MIM
Yes, you are eligible for an MIM. But getting to work there depends on the type of college that you get into. To get into a good college, you need to have a great GMAT score. Best wishes for your GMAT Preparation!!!!
Sir, I have 7 years of experience, but I cannot do an MBA due to the high tuition fee so if I do an MIM, does it mean I will be treated less favouribly while applying for a job and I won't get into better or higher positions? I really need to knkw this please. Thank you.
With 7 years of experience, you do not have a lot of options to do MIM as colleges only prefer candidates with only 0-1 years of experience. And to answer your question, yes, people with an MBA have an edge.
@@Wizako Thank you so much Sir. I have got admission at Birmingham University of UK for MiM. Do you think it will just waste my time and effort and won't get me anywhere?
I am sorry data analytics as no jobs as of now. May be in the future. At present, companies are just asking for phd graduates. Data analytics is risky but might turn out good as the blogs say.
No doubt, there is a lot of uncertainty in the immediate term. However, as we have seen in the way different agencies are handling this situation, data analysis (tracking and tracing, doubling time) etc., will make data analytics play a greater role not just in private business decisions, but also in governance. So, the potential in the medium to long term is bright.
You most certainly can do MIM after B Tech in IT. Work toward a GMAT score of 680+. 700+ will be even better. With a well balanced profile and a GMAT score upward of 680, you will get admits in some of the best business schools for the MIM program.
Hello sir that’s a informative content , but I have a. question,That sir can I get a top business schools from good IELTS score or do I need to clear the GRE and GMAT? And sir, should I do MIM in Canada after Bsc in biotechnology in terms of job perspectives? Ty
Hello Gaurav Usually good business schools will require a GMAT / GRE score for admission to their MiM programs. Schools that accept on the basis of only IELTS / TOEFL score are usually not high on the ranking list. Canada offers a plethora of options both in terms of job prospects and in terms of emigrating there (through their PR policy). What you have to check is whether the schools that you are applying to will admit with a 15-year education. Some schools required 12 + 4. Best wishes

A very safe number is 330+. 325+ should be enough for good schools for the MiM programs.
I would really like to take MBA in luxury management and ur saying dat we need experience like 4 ,5 years .well at dat time I will be aged .I mean I just don't understand

I am from the law background I wanna do mim. Which exam should be more preferable gre or gmat , ielts, toefl
The proportion of institutes that accept your GMAT score for their admission into their MIM programs is much higher than GRE. In some lower ranked colleges, only ielts is required. But the job oppurtunities are very poor. Best wishes!!!
Hello sir
I wanted to know if MIM is recognised world wide..
Yes! It is recognized the world over. However, note that the opportunities for an MBA are likely to reward you better financially than those available for MiM.
@@Wizako thank you sir
Hello sir,
I have just completed my bba
I was wondering if I am eligible to apply for ms data analytics
Or is it essential to have a degree related to IT
Is a science degree.
Sir I am a graduate of 2018 I am planing to do MIM
But which country will provide me PR along with my MIM
Hello Simranjeet
PR process is different from a student visa. You may qualify for PR in a country if you meet the criteria set by that country for PR. And that could happen even without an MIM degree.
Having said that, completing a masters degree in a country will improve your chances of getting a PR in that country.
Wizako if I goes my MIM it will increase my chances ?
@@SimranjeetKaur-tl7zb it depends on the country! If you're mainly looking for pr try the safer countries!
Hello sir,
What is the scope of an MIM degree in India? Say i have completed my MIM from UK and worked there for 2 years. Will i get good opportunities in India if i wish to move back?
Hello Shivanshu
After about 2 years of experience what will matter in your ability to find good opportunities will be the nature of work experience and the brand name of the organization that you worked for. If the MiM is from a recognizable brand name, it will certainly help with the opportunities.
Ideally, one should look at around 5 years of international experience after any degree abroad to leverage the value of having studied outside India.
Cheers
Hello sir
I’m a final year medical student studying in India . I wanted to go for healthcare management in Germany after doing my bachelors from India .
For the same , I was planning on pursuing an MBA from Germany but I have zero work experience (except the internship I will be doing in the hospital ) . Can you help me figure out a decent alternative or a better option ?
Hi im doing my B Tech Biotechnology 3rd year Can i get into MIM programs? and What is the difference between Mim and MeM programs? Thank you
Yes! You could get into MIM programs as a fresh graduate. MeM - I suppose you are referring to Masters in Engineering Management. You will be eligible for those programs too. However, note that MeM programs focus on Engineering domain while MIM has both general management and other management specialisations.
To do MIM in us which exam should I take? GRE or GMAT?
All schools accept GMAT. Quite a few schools accept the GRE as well. If you have already taken the GRE, apply with that score. Writing a GMAT may not be necessary - especially if your GRE score is good. If you have not taken either of these tests, I will recommend GMAT.
I have taken tuitions in GRE and yet to do self study, shall I give GRE or GMAT for MIM ?
Many schools accept both the GMAT and the GRE for their MiM program. Please check the websites of schools that you are interested in to confirm that they accept both scores.
Because you have already started your preparation for the GRE, you should go ahead with the GRE if your shortlisted schools accept the GRE.
Which exam we need to give for MI M ?
All schools accept GMAT for their MiM program. Some schools accept the GRE as well.
Having said that, please check the credentials of the school if it admits students without either of these tests. The ranking of such programs will be questionable.
Best wishes
Hello sir I’m done with bms which is 3 years course. I want to pursue mim should I go ahead with 15 years of education? I’m planning to give gmat n go in 2020.
Hello Aparupa
Many schools will accept 15 years of education for the MiM program. Please check the website of each of the schools that you are interested in applying to and then apply. If their website does not mention any information on this fact, please send an email to their admissions office and they will reply with clarifications.
Bottom line - apply only after confirming with the school that they admit students with 15 years of education.
Hello sir

@@hosnakawusi2165 Hi what was your call at the end ?? You took MiM ?
@@shreeharsha9776 Yes, and it is very good. I confirmed it with so many experts and university professors, they all said it is worth it.
@@hosnakawusi2165 Thank you for insight ... I have 7.5 years of experience and am looking out course in MiM. Can you guide me ?
Sir is mba harder than mim
Hello Ammu
The curriculum is more or less the same. The teaching methodology tends to be different. MBA is not harder than MiM.

Can i do mim after btech in it
You most certainly can do MIM after B Tech in IT.
Ty
Hello Gaurav
Usually good business schools will require a GMAT / GRE score for admission to their MiM programs.
Best wishes
