      Anyone having any connection to Boris Johnson should be cancelled/ rejected from any public occupation. That is a Judas Goat

      They rely on people not requiring them to prove what they say
      So they can technically deny anything without fear of scrutiny even though their obvious lie is obvious. These people would rather argue in defence of the existence of unicorns and pixie's before telling the truth.

    It is blatantly obvious he has absolutely no integrity whatsoever and accordingly takes no self-responsabilty for his scheming, self-serving, underhanded and what should be "illegal" behaviour. He should be removed from his post immediately and fined substantially.

    This story has more holes than a pair of fishnet tights. Why would Johnson's cousin need an intermediary? If he is close enough to call him Al, and to be a guest at Chequers, he doesn't need a go between.

      They know very well that there is nothing to prevent their corruption or will be done about it.

    And we wonder why important news doesn't air on the BBC. So.. do we still think the TV license is appropriate?

    Just think if this was Labour, Lib Dem or any other centre/centre right party who had just done one of these dodgy things if they were in power. We’d still be discussing it today after 13 years and the Tories would still be blaming the woes of this country on that specific incident of corruption. What crazy times we live in.

    Given his experience in governance roles, you’d have expected him to be a bit more curious about the implications of what he alleges Case told him. Instead he “assumes” that, because Case said don’t have any further involvement, it absolves him from being transparent about his involvement up to that point.
    I note he’s at pains to emphasise how proactive he was in consulting Case in the first instance. I’m sceptical that he did not then proactively clarify with Case whether and when he should have disclosed his involvement up to that point. He was clearly involved as a facilitator, despite his attempts to control the narrative with his narrow definition of financial advice, at a time when he was applying for the BBC position.
    Neither he nor Johnson or, indeed, Blyth appear to have been remotely curious about potential conflict of interest. How hard is it to ask if someone has anything in the pipeline in terms of public appointments (Sharp and Blyth - Johnson knew that Sharp was in the running for the BBC job).
    An honest person with their experience of business and politics would have asked whether there was anything pertaining which would compromise their plans; yet all three have claimed to be ignorant of these matters. If they really are that stupid they don’t deserve to be in office.
    They’re like schoolboys caught with their grubby hands in the biscuit barrel. Insulting everyone’s intelligence.

    Why did 'Mr Blyth' want to lend the sitting PM of GB 800 large?

  • @paulthomas8163
    @paulthomas8163 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    So, in summary: Sharp enabled cash from Johnson's relative - Blyth- via the Cabinet Secretary. The Cabinet Secretary is a civil servant, not a fixer for the PM. Blyth is a chum of Sharp's; just because they are (the usual thing: old school tie; wealthy; looking out for their chums). Blyth is shady "businesman" based offshore. Why would Blyth want to give money to Johnson, someone he didn't know? Why didn't Blyth just call Johnson? And let's not forget that Sharp is a Tory party donor. Charles Moore, who conveniently stood aside for Sharp, was Johnson's boss at The Telegraph. Sharp says that he didn't give financial advice to Johnson, yet the Cabinet Secretary told Johnson not to take "further" advice from Sharp.
    Johnson and Sharp are cut from the same cloth: entitled, corrupt liars. Sharp happy to arrange cash for Johnson in exchange for the top job at the BBC. Johnson happy to take cash from a shady businessman for for some favour to be called in later (a peerage/special tax treatment?). The Cabinet Secretary enabling corruption.
    God help the UK.

      @gs8099 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't have any fate, but I reckon God is terribly disappointed that believers keep asking for help without making a conscious effort, try to march for days and stop this endless corruption among these careers politicians, make donations totally illegal, no off shore accounts, no non dom or any other tax evasion and avoidance, and above all dark money from think tanks or warmonger arms manufacturer, etc, etc! That automatically deters any corrupt Oxford graduate thinkers and their owners/handlers/donors from even getting anywhere close to Westminister!

    It started to go off the rails when Lord Bell forced Common Purpose upon them, abandoning the Broad House concept necessary in the Fourth Estate. I saw it while posting on Robert Peston's blog in 2008-9, explaining the inner workings of the crash, building a following which felt committed to action. I put them in contact with my old friend Paul Judge, who was in a similar position to Rory Stewart's, frustrated by political ambition of the incompetent excluding the experienced. They became the Jury Team, which still exists, despite Paul's demise.
    Ever since then, the DG has been biased, and this is completely incompatible with an Organisation receiving most of it's funding from a functionally compulsory public levy (the so-called Licence), as it also infringes rules on State Aid. It should fairly respect the full range of public opinion, neutrally. Of course, this has now come off the rails.
