- We flew to iloilo philippines just to eat batchoy in the la paz market! We got to eat the famous la paz batchoy right from the place the dish came from! We also spend the day exploring Iloilo and eating some more delicious filipino street food on the way! I guess this video counts as our first impressions of Iloilo Philippines video even if that's not what it says in the title! The public markets in Iloilo City are currently under construction, thus the less organized situation. Glad you had the time to explore the City of Love.

@@davidcabrera5811 they went to the market which is currently under construction, the place they ate at is a temporary place while the market is being rebuilt. its 5x more dirty and chaotic because of that. normally its pretty clean.

Enjoy your stay in ILOILO. Public markets around the city are being reconstructed, so chaotic temporary stalls along the streets were made. You have just walk one part of Riverwalk Esplanade, its around 10Km stretch😅 You may visit Festive walk specially at night guys.. Also experience Isla Gigantes 🙌
Piaya (pronounced as pee-ya-ya) is actually my favorite Filipino snack of all time. And I highly recommend you eat it hot or fresh from the bakery. It's good to see you guys visit local markets and eat local food recommended by locals of course. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Looove Iloilo. It's absolutely the best city. Nice people. Great food. Heritage places. Nature. Overall it has a great vibe. Too bad you missed Dinagyang Festival though.

Lapaz batchoy is known for being the original source of batchoy but its so ubiquitous now that every local restaurant sells it. Lots of crushed deep fried garlic makes the soup taste delish. Hi from Indiana. Im born and raised there until after college and then came to the US. Ive been here since then like 40 years ago. But I go home for visits. So youre giving me a memory lane walk of the places Im accustomed to be during my college years. Went to CPU one of the best universities there. My family decided to always stay in hotels at Smallville the new section but I did go a few times to the old downtown to refresh my memorable moments actually the best memories of my college life. Thanks and enjoy being in a city that offers so much to visitors without the stress of Manila or Cebu. And cheap!
Very true, Iloilo is pretty snazzy. La Paz batchoy was my first meal when i got to the city. Enjoyed the walking tour as always and happy to see Ducky enjoying Iloilo as well. It was also nice to see our fellow frackers get to meet you while exploring the streets of Iloilo🥰 They are frackin lucky to meet the TriFate crew haha. Thanks for another epic content 🤘

Please tour Iloilo not just in daytime but also at nighttime when the nighttime lights flood the bldgs, churches, fountains, belfries, mansions, parks and Spanish-era plazas, and malls. The streets are clean and wide and well-maintained, landscaped and flooded with night lights it's like you are strolling at daytime, especially at the beautiful Diversion Road, 10 lanes, with biking lanes and riverside Esplanades for strolling, sightseeing, jogging, exercising, Zumba, fishing and birdwatching at the adjacent riverside Esplanades. What more could you ask for?

The best mangoes are in Guimaras, a boat ride from Iloilo. You should definitely go there next time and have some mango shake and mango pizza at The Pitstop 😋

Wow you've been to 3 of the major Visayas islands, Cebu, Bohol and Panay Islands(where Iloilo is).. What's left is the Negros, Samar and Leyte islands. Also, you better travel to Palawan because its like paradise there

While here, try island hopping in Isla Gigantes or visit Guimaras too. these places offer scenic beaches.
You should go to tatoys next, try the native lechon manok, grilled blue marlin, baked talaba and pork lechon. You should also try pancit molo in Molo and also the kansi...go to Guimaras nezt and try the worls famous mangoes there while enjoying the beaches their..go to the famous giant cross where people go during lent season...

Almost all Iloilo market now is under renovation it is part of beautification of the city, it would be the next world class market in the Philippines also this coming march it will start the underground cable in the area where mostly the tourist spot so expected to be congested in traffic.
Batchoy is pretty tasty. Best food during rainy season.

That white RICE is usually dip in DINUGUAN.
DINUGUAN is a mixture of meat and pork blood. Others cook dinuguan with bladder, intestines, lungs and some meat and pork blood or as foreigners call it as meat in chocolate stew.

It's the city of hacienderos (sugar plantation landlords) during the Spanish colonial era. Those old mansions were the houses of rich and wealthy clans. You were at the sugar capital of the Philippines where sugar exports are coming from.
