There is nothing more satisfying in gaming than a 1000 Vs 1500 battle in bannerlord where you're hopelessly outnumbered but manage to clutch a win by using perfectly timed and well thought out tactics combined with encirclement and brutal mass murder of your frantically retreating enemies. Or even being elected king of a struggling kingdom and leading it towards peace and prosperity. Or even a humble business owner just trying to survive the endless wars. It's one of my all time favourite games.
Asmon, i'm not a twitch follower (i don't pay much attention to twitch in general lately tho), but regarding your reaction about the camels... yes - there's camels, in fact in the base game there's a desert kingdom called the Aserai (their leader is a Sultan) whose cavalry is strongly focused on camels. They still have horses mind you, but their best cav is by far the camels. Only downside is they haven't implemented proper animal behavior - like horses hating camels as in real life, or rather fearing them but i'm not sure which was correct. P.S. 700 ppl all on horseback? that could rly backfire on you depending on the enemy you fight and the Tier of their troops... for example - a Battanian wall of shields and spears can stop your charge dead in its tracks... while a Khuzait skirmisher cav will just run circles bleeding your forces with a thousand small cuts. Also - there's 8 factions total, 3 of which are the broken Calradian empire (you have Northern, Western and Southern empire).
We’ve noticed tons of people surging into the EU server because Na requires a sub mod for it so it’s not showing up for new players that are unaware that there’s a server for NA. The mod is NA crossroads and this will give players access to the server
you can do so many things in bannerlord. recruit heroes, crafting, tournaments, quests, trading, war, terrorist attack, stealing, siege, create siege equipments and operate it and many more
Played this ages ago on Persistent World, joined with the name 'Nazgul' and kept asking people for the shire and baggins. bumped into someone called 'Sauron' dressed in full plate and we decided to start a 'Mordor' faction. 2 hours later we were holing our last castle with what was left of our army as the rest of the server got fed up with the raiding and robbing and ganged up on us. So many fond memories of this game.
Bannerlord is by far the most fun and infuriating/anxiety inducing game to play. Everything is fun and games when you're just playing mercenary or bandit but create your own kingdom and your terrified of playing bc you know it's only a matter of time before it all falls apart 😂
"Your relation with Lord shitposter of the subreddit faction has decreased -3 because you failed to deliver him 10 cattle, and he has now begun a siege on one of your strongholds" fml
The mod came out the end of last year. I've played it since January and have loved it. I never get bored of it but there is a lot of toxicity which ruins that fun sometimes. I haven't been able to relax inside of a faction for a while because everyone takes it so seriously nowadays. The game is grindy, you go out chop down trees with a hatchet, mine ores with a pickaxe, collect wheat, flax, grapes, olives, etc... with a sickle, craft your weapons and armor using resources you gathered. Train your horses so you are able to use them and so much more. I have over 1,500 hours on bannerlord and most of it is playing PE (Persistent Empires)
You should have really seen Life is Feudal: MMO in it's good times, it was basically this but you actually build the castles where you want and how you want, you can change every single place of the map the way you want.
I'd love for Asmon to play this with a group and put it on youtube, but streaming it is going to be tough for him since his own army will probably just kill him over and over and not allow him to have any fun. Unless of course the mod disables damage from allies inherently.
Don't try to do this shit daily! Plan a day a week or month and just play that day... Much easier to have entire armies clash once a week instead of trying to keep shit going throughout multiple days Also, for anyone who is interested, There are already Bannerlord leagues that play on weekends and do giant sieges or open battles. They also worked in a dynamic type "ladder" where winning a previous battle will influence future battles.
3:47 yes I can, you put 5000 people on a server, 3 factions, and call the game Dark age of Camelot in 2001. Relic sieges 1500vs1500vs1000, slideshow for the win but it worked back in the day, and recently (few years ago on a freeshard) had a 500 people fight with 60fps, on a 20+yo game. I'm dumbfunded that in 2023, a whole 22 years later of better technology, most MMOs/MPs caps out at 40 characters/entities on screen, if it can even go that far. And yes, Bannerlord is a great game :)
This reminds me a bit of total war, im not sure if it ever released but I was part of an alpha test for one the games that they made into an MMO, you would choose what kind of units you wanted to command like archers or catapults and then be directly in charge of those units on a huge map with other players. Last team standing won. Guess it was called Total War: Arena and only lasted a year :(
I am reminded, seeing this video, of the gold old days in DAoC, where we would roll up with 200 player alliances that were after the relics of the enemy realm. DAoC was RvRvR. 3 realms at war with each other. You had to gain control of a chain of pvp castle areas to get access to the relic castle. But, once the castle was open, the relic was up for grabs. Any realm could take it. I was part of a battle that had about 150 players from each realm duking it out to gain control of the breached relic keep and steal the relic. The carrier could not fast travel and had to deliver the relic to the border keep of their realm to gain control. The battle was hours of skirmishes as all three realms tried to waylay the carrier and regain control or steal the relic.
I remember playing this game(warband) in high school. Some of the most fun I’ve ever had in gaming. It was a lot more fun when the factions were made up of random people instead of massive clans organized via discord who could send 30 guys whenever you tried to rob of of their miners…
Bro finally bannerlord is getting the time in the spotlight. Last year like every 4-6 months I grind a week to own all of calradia, 12 city’s down . The rest of the world to go. Play this game.

Bannerlord: can run 700 people on horseback fighting pvp battles using someone's PC. AAA Server that runs WoW: crashes when 41 people /dance in the same zone at the same time.
A heads up warning. Persisent world has been a mod for warband for decades now. The mod has also showed up in bannerlord ofc. This mod always feels better to watch then to actualy play. The reality is, you either team up or loose. And when you do team up, 90% of the time you will NOT be playing the fun part of the game, but the grind part of the game. RPing is very inconsistent, and most people just spam halt commands and say they are doing RP. Sure buddy. Do not. For the life of you, play this mod outside of a team or a clan.
I've been playing this game for years and it's TONS of fun with just building your own armies/factions and contesting the map with the AI, but having ACTIVE factions full of players all over the map contesting territories constantly so that the map is always evolving? ...next level gaming.
I’m surprised Asmongold hasn’t seen bannerlord yet. Warband and Bannerlord are some of the greatest medieval games out there. Mount & Blade’s multidirectional combat system influenced many other medieval game’s combat systems like kingdom come deliverance, and chivalry, and for honor just to name a few.
@@DivinityOfBLaze No you don't understand. Crpg was a mod for M&B Warband, it had progression where you could level your character on the website for it and clans could have battles. They also made a map. Don't remember all, was a long time ago and it was super popular, so much so that the devs of that mod wanted to make a standalone game out of it.
DAOC was the same way before Frontiers came out. Hundreds of players, all fighting at the same milegate or keep, was amazing to see and participate in. The "Sequel" to that Camelot Unchained is basically vaporware. They are about 10 years into development and there are still Kickstarter backers waiting on refunds, ridculous.
This game is criminally underrated. Just to share for those who are not aware. The mods are currently working on one of the most ambitious mods for this game and its already been years. Everyone's being patient and just wants to make sure its done right. Look up Kingdoms of Arda. I remember when this was a niche thing the mod, Persistent kingdom in the previous m&b:warband , when I was Dustins house, a spanish house, when the polands were the bigger clan and the community was as small as too have some amusing beef against the houses of different countries, goodtimes, now it's getting bigger by time, which is not bad, but I'll miss the small beef between houses, Specially against the Franchias
warband finally gets the praise it deserves, brings a tear to my eye PW , napolenic wars and mercenaries was chefs kiss. the modding community was also amazing.
I've been hooked on the Realm of Thrones (GoT bannerlord mod) for a couple of months, that has rideable dragons, insane amounts of custom armour from the show and Westeros locations. Rebuilding House Reyne and reclaiming Castermere and executing any Lannister was my recent playthrough
As a life long RTS/RPG gamer. Bannerlord is an amazing game! The most crazy part is how taleworlds started and even made this game! Don’t get me wrong it has a lot of room for improvement but the game concept and gameplay is super fun. Such a technical game. I am waiting for a game giant company like rockstar trying to develop a game like this.
Tech like server meshing in star citizen is going to make games like this finally be able to beat the limitations of server cap. I can imagine being able to play games like this with 5k more people at one time.
I LOVED life is feudal for this reason. The faction drama/wars. If there were raiders anywhere near our land, we'd come wreck them and help the victims or invite them to join us. It was so good.
So happy to see Bannerlord getting attention. Amazing game! You should totally check out the Full Invasion 3 mod. Essentially siege defense with hundreds of players holding points against waves of AI.

Sadly I can't afford the hardware to play Bannerlord, but seeing a medieval battle happening with hundreds of players in real time and they chatting with each other is so beautiful. It makes manly nerd tears start rolling uncontrollably
I'm amazed Asmon didn't knew of M&B before, I have 800 hours in Warband, some 200 on Bannerlord. LOVE the Gekokujo and the Game of Thrones mod for Warband, and I can't wait for modders to do ship battle in Bannerlord like they did in Brytenwalda and Viking Conquest.
I quit playing Mount and Blade Warband/ Mount and Blade in general around when Bannerlord released, because it was really bad on release and Warband became quite outdated. I did however spend a decent amount of the Persistent World mod in Warband, and it was a ton of fun. I haven't played Bannerlord much since it came out, and I definitely haven't been part of any groups that play it. Or even being elected king of a struggling kingdom and leading it towards peace and prosperity. Or even a humble business owner just trying to survive the endless wars. It's one of my all time favourite games.
The mindblowing part is having this number of players at the same location with no visible lag and full models. That's INSANE!
3:09 it was hell of a battle we tried to siege same castle 2 times but failed ı was the guy putting rammstein music on mic
We’ve noticed tons of people surging into the EU server because Na requires a sub mod for it so it’s not showing up for new players that are unaware that there’s a server for NA. The mod is NA crossroads and this will give players access to the server
you can do so many things in bannerlord. recruit heroes, crafting, tournaments, quests, trading, war, terrorist attack, stealing, siege, create siege equipments and operate it and many more
500 hours for me on M&B Bannerlord/Warband during the lockdowns. Kept me sane throughout. 👍 Glad it gets the attention it deserves. 👏
Same.
Butter for the butterlord!
I spent so much time on persistent kingdoms/world during my teens, warms my heart to see this getting attention now
persistent world back then was a great time :)
spent all day everyday
You should have really seen Life is Feudal: MMO in it's good times, it was basically this but you actually build the castles where you want and how you want, you can change every single place of the map the way you want.
I'd love for Asmon to play this with a group and put it on youtube, but streaming it is going to be tough for him since his own army will probably just kill him over and over and not allow him to have any fun. Unless of course the mod disables damage from allies inherently.
Don't try to do this shit daily!
Plan a day a week or month and just play that day... Much easier to have entire armies clash once a week instead of trying to keep shit going throughout multiple days
Also, for anyone who is interested, There are already Bannerlord leagues that play on weekends and do giant sieges or open battles. They also worked in a dynamic type "ladder" where winning a previous battle will influence future battles.
I picture Asmon taking his army and conquering each server one by one until he rules them all.
This is a great game even without mods, I think you'd enjoy it.
Bannerlord also has the best GoT mod ever done, called Realm of Thrones. Spent like 200 hours playing it, now it is Persistent empires' turn..
I remember playing this game(warband) in high school. Some of the most fun I’ve ever had in gaming. It was a lot more fun when the factions were made up of random people instead of massive clans organized via discord who could send 30 guys whenever you tried to rob of of their miners…
I am currently imagining Asmon and his viewers playing Full Invasion….
I don’t want to wake up.
It always shocks me how unknowledgeable asmon is about very popular games
But....but....he's a "professional gamer" 😂
Bro finally bannerlord is getting the time in the spotlight. Last year like every 4-6 months I grind a week to own all of calradia, 12 city’s down . The rest of the world to go. Play this game.
Asmon: "600 hours?!"
Me with 1406 hours :|
Okoii is a very based youtuber thanks for featuring him
If you do this that would be amazing for the game studio and mods community. What a great team of dedicated talent.
didn't expect to see this today. just got back into bannerlord last week. I don't do much multiplayer, but I have 430 hrs on singleplayer and if asmon is serious about trying it out with that persistant world mod I want to be there for it.
Such an addictive game! Mods make Bannerlord even better too! Love this game ⚔️
Controlling one character in a battle of 1k troops plus is an epic feeling, I’d recommend this game to everyone
Bannerlord: can run 700 people on horseback fighting pvp battles using someone's PC.
AAA Server that runs WoW: crashes when 41 people /dance in the same zone at the same time.
How did he not know MB! And the mod for game of thrones, so sweet
Awesome, Asmon bringing attention to such a fantastic game.
The overhaul mods are truly something else.
Bannerlord Online is another good one
Bannerlord has always been awesome! To see this many players on one map is legendary!
Mount & Blade’s multidirectional combat system influenced many other medieval game’s combat systems like kingdom come deliverance, and chivalry, and for honor just to name a few.
reminds me of what they tried with crpg back in the day which then prompted the modders to make "Of Kings and men" and then ran away with the money.
Except in this case its a mod for a really, really good game. Which is hilarious that a mod can do what a game tried.
I want to see the asMONGOLd invasion of these servers.
The AsMONGOLden Horde
This game is criminally underrated. Just to share for those who are not aware. The mods are currently working on one of the most ambitious mods for this game and its already been years. Everyone's being patient and just wants to make sure its done right.
Look up Kingdoms of Arda. They're working on the entire middle earth, like costumes, races, factions, castles, towns, dungeons, etc. It's freaking amazing.
Avalon HCRP (Hardcore Roleplay) server, that's all I'm saying. 🥰
This weekend, right? I will arrange my schedule
Wow I’ve never came this early before
You might be suffering from premature ejaculation
That's what he said
Tell the truth
Yes you have.
For those interested in this game, there is a AAA quality Lord of the Rings full conversion mod that's been worked on since 2018. It's called Last Days of the Third Age.
I remember when this was a niche thing the mod, Persistent kingdom in the previous m&b:warband , when I was Dustins house, a spanish house, when the polands were the bigger clan and the community was as small as too have some amusing beef against the houses of different countries, goodtimes, now it's getting bigger by time, which is not bad, but I'll miss the small beef between houses, Specially against the Franchias
warband finally gets the praise it deserves, brings a tear to my eye
PW , napolenic wars and mercenaries was chefs kiss. the modding community was also amazing.
Indeed this mod is amazing. I remember the good days on Warband PW mod.
0:38 me the 10th time in a row I get mobbed and kidnapped by bandits
I have lost many of my younger years to mount and blade. Years well spent.
I remember playing M&B way back in its original release in 2008. Its always surprising to me to find people whove never heard of it, even after Bannerlord.
Mount and Blade Warband Persistent World was my Childhood 6k hours well spend. The Warband Community was awesome in its own way.
It's like Planetside 2 but with swords :D
This and Bannerlord Online is pretty good. The online uses its own launcher and treats it closer to an mmo.
I played Warband mods a bunch, glad to see the community is going strong in Bannerlord.
The best is when the horses start dropping to ranged weapons and you watch the rider get thrown.
M&B multiplayer mods have been some of the most fun I've had throughout the years I've played the series.
bannerlord online mod. this mod is like this but bigger. it allows players to play in the whole campaign map and each player can control his own detachment .Its huge too
Bannerlord without mods = boring after 10 hours.
Bannerlord with mods = 'looks at hours played... 700... fuck'
I'd like to know what he thinks of an MMO like Wakfu.
I remeber when one of my friends first showed me bannerlord, still one of my favorite games to this day
2:30-2:40 that is somehow so cool scene in all it's simplicity and I assume it wasn't even scripted, which makes it better
Building of pax dei + Battle system bannerlod, oh boy
Bannerlord is a pretty underrated game, I never played Warband(Besides maybe 10 minute testing) but it also never interested me like Bannerlord did, I still play Bannerlord with around 550 hours and I'm currently playing in a Warhammer universe as a Necromancer, 450 ish units strong as this point with an ACTUAL skeleton Army(Along with around 100-150 Human 'Slave' archers).
Sadly I can't afford the hardware to play Bannerlord, but seeing a medieval battle happening with hundreds of players in real time and they chatting with each other is so beautiful. It makes manly nerd tears start rolling uncontrollably
0:50 And that picture is from a mod for the old game Warband, not even the newer Bannerlord.
Bro this mod is so fun. The rivalries and politics are insane.
Asmon only know wow befor 2016 and now only know games that are trending
Bannerlord is the best game ever!!! So much fun!!
Mount and blade is a gem of a game both single player and multiplayer
I quit playing Mount and Blade Warband/ Mount and Blade in general around when Bannerlord released, because it was really bad on release and Warband became quite outdated. I did however spend a decent amount of the Persistent World mod in Warband, and it was a ton of fun. I haven't played Bannerlord much since it came out, and I definitely haven't been part of any groups that play it. I didn't know Persistent Empires existed, so I might have have to return to this game.
Another one to add to his list of "this is so cool I'll say I should play it but never actually touch it in ever again in my life"
Reminds me of daoc, how blessed i was to enjoy that game at it's peak. Best memory of an mmo
this is not the collab i was expecting
I’ve got hundreds of hours in vanilla and lightly modded Mount and Blade. I’ve heard of this mod and it always sounded cool. Great game though truly
The Warband and Bannerlord MP communities are seriously underrated.
