I hate how they made Kie incapable of having a platonic friendship throughout the entire series. They literally passed her around the group and it was sooo unnecessary and distasteful. Especially when there was no chemistry with any of them to begin with so it was really just weird.

exactly i get the writers said they were gonna focus on relationships this szn but the friendships is the core thing if they didn’t love eachother that much they wouldn’t have went to those extremes for eachother. I thought Big John was awful, I thought they ruined Sarah’s character, the Topper plot was stupid, Ward’s ending was disappointing, Rafe’s arc was disappointing, and literally the only thing I liked was JJ and Kie 🥲 really sad since I loved s2 so much
Biggest letdown was not having Rafe as the main antagonist. He's easily one of the most complex characters & has history with everyone (+ great actor!!). Interesting dynamic with Ward too -could've had him turn against his dad & go against the Pogues his own way. S3 set up was very much Camerons: 2 - Pogues: 0, we need to get a win. But they just tossed those unfinished storylines & the Camerons to the side for a random new guy & treasure.
frr 😫 i expected Ward to be incapacitated this season from his coma and its effects and for Rafe to take over as the new big bad guy. it felt like the first two seasons were setting Rafe up to take over after Ward, but then they just didn’t do it. With Ward out of the picture and Rafe finally freed from his need to please his dad, he could’ve gone full psycho and used all his family‘s resources and money to hunt down the Pogues. But then he wasn’t even in the finale!!!!!! wtf were the writers thinking???! and don’t even get me started on the whole el dorado crap. also all the unfinished storylines like the shroud inside the cross and Limbrey. obx is one of my favourite shows but this season made me so mad
Not sure if I'm in the minority here but...I think Topper should've had a redemption arc and then just been a side character. But for some reason it seems like the writers are gonna redeem Rafe? I have no idea why ppl want him to become a good guy, he's much better off as a full fledged villain and this season he really should've gone completely insane.
That's exactly what I was saying about Topper, since s2 I thought to myself the redemption arc could work out for him. Like they did with Steve Harrington in Stranger Things. This season was off on a lot of things, but it's still my fav show I hope that they do better writing for the fourth season hopefully they can make a huge comeback with s4

They done pissed me off with that cheating conflict. Like yes let's make Sarah cheat on John B with Topper after a _minor_ fight and then regrets it later (because that's how the cycle always goes) and runs back to John B, he forgives her and they all live happily...ever after. 😍😀

This season was horrible imo. The writing was off. 1. Pope should've been in that cave. It was his ancestors' money. He should've been the first person walking in. 2. Too much romance with no chemistry. The only couple with chemistry surprisingly was cleo/pope 3. Too many characters loved cleo, but she was not needed nor rafe booty call. She was there for d*** and vibes 4. Bad writing, let obx 4 be the last.

John B met his Dad after thinking he was dead for years, and it was kinda brushed over like??? They couldn’t let that marinate for even a second before something else happened. Big John annoyed me so much the entire season as well cuz he seemed so emotionally unavailable and only caring about the treasure. The kids literally risked their lives to save him in South America and he barely said thank u, didn’t even trust Sarah and just starting obsessing over the treasure lol Sometimes I could see that Big Johns behavior annoyed John B but I feel like they didn’t focus on it enough? Imagine the emotional turmoil John B probably goes through discovering that his dad is alive only to realize that he doesn’t really care about him… that would’ve been interesting for me to watch, Instead the season just left me frustrated because nothing deep was addressed … I want a bit of draaaaaama and not just superficial action.
The whole reunion and the talk about why and how should have been like more than one episode, and when John B goes to JJ to tell him his dad has been kidnaped, this is so stupid, this talk should has been about how deceiving it is to get his dad back... What I mean is that there's so much over the top plots that the main storylines, which are rich with interesting based characters and great acting, are completly lost. Awful.
What was also dissapointing was the inevitable reunion between Rafe & Sarah: Built up for a while, she worries to see him again & he feels clear remorse over what he did to her (said it to Kie) & they talk for 1 scene? 1 scene? SERIOUSLY? It was so annoying cuz Madelyne & Drew have the chemistry of complex estranged siblings screwed over by their father, psychogical issues on the brother's end of the spectrum & trauma on the sister's end of the spectrum. They act so well together... What a shame! I wanted the complex dynamics from S2 to flesh out: Would Rafe admit he held Sarah at sniper rifle point & then tearfully lowered the sniper as he couldn't do it... at least not again? Would JB finally dress down Big John? Would JJ finally get to show his anger towards his parents and not have it glossed over? Would Ana & Mike verbalise properly to Kie why they feel the need to do what they do? Would Sarah & Wheezie ever talk again? Are Rafe & Wheezie still close? Would Rafe & Sarah ever get to express their contempt about their relationship thanks to Ward to eachother in a civilised manner?
I agree with almost everything...I think that the whole treassure hunt thing is a heart of the show. New love drama is not that bad (except for the JB/Sara/Topper mess). EJ and Kiara would be far more enjoyable if it wasn't for her previous thing with Pope which was weeeird. The plot was lacking tho and the "bad guy" was ridiculous.

But what else can they do? Hang out in Outer Banks? They should leave them on the Island for like a half of the show - new place, new beginnings and than make some tressaure hunt worth working for. They're trying to make the stakes so much bigger that it ironically made the stakes feel smaller. Like, expanding upon Rafe's storyline and having him be the main villain of s3 would've been perfect because he actually has character development and history with the pogues, but instead they introduce Singh as this big bad villain but it just feels so forced, unrealistic and unnecessary. The show was better when the world was smaller and more detailed instead of this big expansive treasure hunting world that feels unrelatable and unrealistic.

I honestly think not many people get that literally the only problem is that shows think they need to do more and more. They always incorporate more tension and adventures and eventually overdo it. Always. That is the reason every single show flopped from season to season, every single one. Which is exactly what was slowly shining though in season 2 and then really developed in season 3. And I don't freaking get how producers and writers can't learn out of this for the life of them. Like why? People are obsessed with this show mostly only because of its initial vibe. A warm summer, being free, surfing with friends, watching sunsets on a boat, pool parties, picknicks. That's _exactly_ what people want to see. Then they just need a little adventure to keep you hooked and that's it. But in season 3 they completely cut off this chill summer vibe and overdid it with the adventures SO much. That was literally the only problem. I hope they listen to that and change it for the better in season 4 because Outer Banks is still my absolute favorite show and its such a shame.
Season 1: S grade - best scene - JJ crying in the bath tub Season 2: A grade - best scene - Ward blowing up the Druthers Season 3: F grade - no good scenes. They turned the show from comfy and casual treasure hunt and surf beach bros brotherhood into a discount Indiana Jones and the crystal skulls.

JJ & Kiara made sense in the first 2 seasons, there were a lot of moments of tension between the two of them (particularly from JJ's end though), however I feel like they heard what fans wanted & really rushed through to get them together because the progression of Kiara's dynamic change w/ JJ did not make sense.

I didn't like the storyline at all, I feel like the directors should have gotten their dynamic of outer banks back instead of constantly going to different places with terrible subplots. it was weird to me how they built up rafe to be mentally unstable and a ticking time bomb in season 2 only for him to turn into a criminal mastermind in season 3, and be partially redeemed. i would have liked if they leaned more into his character going a-wall, it would have been more interesting.
this season of outer banks came out when I was on the coach journey back from a school trip and me and my friend were SO excited to have something fun to watch on the way back. we genuinely got like 3 episodes in and then I turned to her and said 'can you remember a single that that has happened so far' and she was like 'nope' and we turned it off and never resumed 💀💀

ngl I was shipping Kie and JJ because the actors have such good onscreen chemistry and play off each other so well for the comedic beats of S1 and S2. But I knew immediately that the writers had decided they would become a thing this season because every interaction between them suddenly felt so FORCED. Like, the two became so *aware* of each other that the sheer awkwardness of their presence onscreen just KILLED the easy familiarity they had that made it so fun to imagine their friendship turning into something more. I was already bored with the actual plotline of the show so wasting the characters was the last straw and I dropped the show
I think it also didn't help that the actors & their respective girlfriends got absolutely harassed JJ's actor hates romantic JJKie now which says a lot
I dropped the show the moment Sarah cheated… It was so unnecessary and seeing so many ppl defend her just because they like the actress was really annoying I hate how cheating has been so minimized it’s gross. It would have been better if she had found JJ when she was looking for instead of going with Topper (who really need a better storyline or just get out of the way ) because their duo is so underrated. Pope and Cleo were the best part of this season for me ❤

This season had so much potential to be soo good like back in season two every ep made you want to watch more. It would have been amazing if they slowed down it felt like the pacing was off and if they stayed on the island for a while and set up this crazy treasure hunt to eldorado for season 4 and make it the final one. End it with a banger and higher stakes by killing an important character. They could have redeemed Topper in s 3 and then killed him in s4 (they where trying to redeem him in season one when he helped them) with another main character. At least put one of the pogues in the hospital for something serious “life threatening” at least. You are telling me JJ’s crazy ass didn’t get injured badly once like i need a dramatic hospital scene. I wish they could have made Rafe more insane kill his dad and then in s4 he could’ve been the mist menacing fd up person
I'm watching this cos I didn't know what happened in Season 3 lol. I stopped watched the second Kia shouted out "MURDERER" for no reason when they were supposed to be incognito and recording evidence for Ward shooting that plane guy. Then the camera was dropped , broke and yeah.

How are you going to go underwater cave diving with no gear, no oxygen tank, no nothing and no idea how long the swim will be and just send it like it’s no big deal, I mean they didn’t even mention that they were about to do one of the most dangerous things ever then it conveniently is a short ass swim and they find an air pocket 😂 no shot they would have drowned irl

I'd say it's somewhat of an unpopular opinion, but instead of making Kie kiss EVERYONE of her male friends, they should've just turned it into Kie figuring out what she wants romantically. She confused her platonic feelings for the guys with romantic feelings. Let's be real, she has more chemistry with Sarah than with any of the guys in S3. They could've fixed it if they just made her lesbian. The actress has a girlfriend irl so it would've been authentic and it would've made her character better (cuz she's not jumping from guy to guy just for fun but to figure out her sexuality). I loved Kie and JJ as friends but now after all that happened in the prior two season, it feels forced. Like it's not a slow burn if she tried every other option esp with no chemistry (I also blame the script cuz wtf was that). It also pissed me off that they made Sarah cheat on John B. Like just break up 😭
Right? I actually thought that Sarah and Kiara would end up together for a second. Especially when Kie asked why Sarah cut her off and Sarah said “Because you liked me” and there was just that giant pause. Like it was RIGHT THERE.

here's my opinion: I think that it def wasn't the best season. Big john kind of drove me crazy, and he separated john b from the pogues way too damn much. I also really ship Jiara, but it felt rushed. Overall, there were some good moments, and I still enjoyed the season, but there were a lot of flaws. I hope that next season will be a redemption, and as good as the 2nd season.
I agree with all this! I feel like the finale felt like the end of the show…. The forced coupling of all the characters especially. It’s not love it’s trauma bonding.
i'm totally disappointed in this season. when season 1 came out in 2020, i quickly fell in love with the teen/summer/treasure hunting vibe. i do think that the show should have continued on, but kept it on a smaller scale and focused on ONE thing, rather than tons of diff plots all over the place. ALSO, the time jump??? NEVERRRRR DO A TIME JUMP!!

Sorry but Jiara was the only reason I made it through this season, I’ve been waiting 3 seasons for them and really would’ve been satisfied if they hadn’t done the initial (and imo unnecessary) Kie and John B kiss and Kie and Pope relationship (idk if I should even call it that). I liked some parts of this season but definitely loathed others
The writing was always pretty weak… but season 1 there was a lot of on screen chemistry between characters and the plot was easy to follow … but now most of the actors don’t even like each other so the writers can’t rely on the chemistry from season 1

@@mia-rh3xpi think they had chemistry in thr first few seasons, but it was chemistry built upon the groundwork of an easy, close friendship. something shifted in s3 where that camaraderie was just gone and there was nothing for the romance to stand upon. Suddenly JJ and Kie were so aware of each other and every scene with just them two had a tension that went from like 10 in orevious seasons to 100, instead of slowly building up by going 20, 30, 40, etc. It felt forced and too overt, too obvious. It wasnt the slow burn we deserved.

Characters don't process shit in this show, it's over the top plot over over the top plot (if that makes any sense). It's frustrating, because it ain't needed!!! They have so much interesting characters, all we want is organic storylines with them, but the writers choose to ruin it instead

That the writers were using the island to finally delve more into the characters and their traumas (cause these characters went through ALOT) but nope they left the island and started on that stupid treasure hunt. Overrated show: Not all main characters are well written and motives are forced, there aren’t any actual character arcs just forced drama and wasted time, John B’s personality is “Bro, we gotta find the treasure!” and we never really know if a character is actually dead. Btw, S4 theory: Ward secretly survives and teams up with Topper and Rafe to take over the United States of America by stealing the gold to buy a bunch of people off; that’s how predicable this show’s plot actually is. 😂
I love the pass 2 seasons , everything was well written but this season literally was so terrible , and I love this show with my whole heart but their was so much things happening in one season , which was crazy . The fact too we’re Madelyn and chase broke up in real life so there characters was so off . It just didn’t feel like obx . I really do hope s4 will be a lot better .
It took me almost a month to finish the season because I just didn't find it interesting. From the villain being lame with his constant "you know". To Rafe just has multiple breakdowns. He's literally giving the same performance every time he's on screen. The problems the pogues encounter seem like they are too easy to solve. For ex. lighting fireworks to scare away bad guys is just not it...any 12-year-old could do that. It's giving Kevin McCallister in Home Alone. Also, I didn't mind Kie and JJ getting together, but it was a little weird because I do see them more as friends AND wasn't she just dating Pope. I'm getting whiplash. The group was separated for way too long and why is Ward acting so soft now lol. The way this man wanted to give the cross away just felt like it came out of nowhere because just last season he was happy to do anything to get it. Anyway, when it got to the last 2 episodes is when I felt like I got invested.
season two was so hard for me tbh n season three j made me realize it wasn’t worth it. i loved the lighthearted vibe of season one n ik it got more intense in the end but it worked out. they j don’t write well n tbh the acting was rlly throwing me off in the beginning of this season two. season twos last episode made me esp mad bc it pulled a riverdale in my eyes. there was no lead up or foreshadowing for big john to b alive n then they j threw it in there. i feel like rafe needed more screen time of him j losing his mind lol. ik john b is the main character but he was annoying me sm n that shouldn’t happen w a main character. i wish we saw them b friends more n j do dumb teen things n bond. sry this is so long lol

I love the show personally and I’ll probably be coming back for season 4 (mostly for Jj, Kie, Cleo, and pope bc they carry the show) but i feel like the story this season was VERY chaotic..like we were on the island for 5 seconds then in the Bahamas and now back in the obx..it was just ALOT going on in a very unorganized way. It felt like they put they’re all into the scenes they promoted the most and the more action-y scenes, then anything after that was just..there😭 As far as the relationships go, i loved the angst between jj and kiara, but i wish we would’ve gotten more couple scenes..like I’ve been waiting TWO SEASONS for a single kiss and a hand hold..BFFR??? This is very much an example of not having any more stories to write for a character. If they keep him, they are going to have jump through so many hoops to explain why he isn’t behind bars. Which might be easy enough since his family has the political clout. The main issue would be why any of the main characters would interact with him unless it’s in a courtroom. I was baffled when he was at the time jump ceremony.

Here’s a few things that I would want for Season 4 that could’ve been made possible in season 3: Rafe getting arrested for shooting Peterkin, Ward getting arrested for his shit, Topper getting arrested for setting the chateau on fire. I wanna see Wheezie join the Pogues, as well as Rafe getting drug addiction help, and mental help…..I wanna know the backstory of Rafe, Sarah, and Wheezie’s birth mom ( I think it could be Carla Limbrey) I wanna know if JJ, Pope, Cleo, and Kie ever got to see El Dorado for themselves to, because even though we only saw that Sarah and John B got to see it…..the scene cut to 18 months later, so the rest of the gang could’ve actually seen El Dorado as well, but it wasn’t included in the season. I also really want to understand Kie’s kook life before she met the Pogues. I remember in season 1 when the boys left her and Sarah on the boat, Kie asked Sarah what happened between them, and Sarah said that Kie liked her….which makes me think that maybe Kie had some feelings for her. I honestly think Kie and Sarah would make a better couple than Kie and JJ, and John B and Sarah.
All I want fore S04 is JJ going in Yucatan to straighten things with Luke over a bottle of Kalani, alone or with John B. I really don't care about anything else lol
I started watching outer banks about a month ago I binged watch season one and two when I got to season three it was just not as interesting :(The ending of the last episode was also ok not the best. I saw someone say it was cheesy and reminded them of Scooby doo ✨

Biggest letdown was not having Rafe as the main antagonist. He's easily one of the most complex characters & has history with everyone (+ great actor!!). Interesting dynamic with Ward too -could've had him turn against his dad & go against the Pogues his own way.
S3 set up was very much Camerons: 2 - Pogues: 0, we need to get a win. But they just tossed those unfinished storylines & the Camerons to the side for a random new guy & treasure.

But then he wasn’t even in the finale!!!!!! wtf were the writers thinking???! and don’t even get me started on the whole el dorado crap. also all the unfinished storylines like the shroud inside the cross and Limbrey. obx is one of my favourite shows but this season made me so mad

I have no idea why ppl want him to become a good guy, he's much better off as a full fledged villain and this season he really should've gone completely insane.

Big John annoyed me so much the entire season as well cuz he seemed so emotionally unavailable and only caring about the treasure. The kids literally risked their lives to save him in South America and he barely said thank u, didn’t even trust Sarah and just starting obsessing over the treasure lol
Sometimes I could see that Big Johns behavior annoyed John B but I feel like they didn’t focus on it enough? Imagine the emotional turmoil John B probably goes through discovering that his dad is alive only to realize that he doesn’t really care about him… that would’ve been interesting for me to watch, Instead the season just left me frustrated because nothing deep was addressed … I want a bit of draaaaaama and not just superficial action.
The whole reunion and the talk about why and how should have been like more than one episode, and when John B goes to JJ to tell him his dad has been kidnaped, this is so stupid, this talk should has been about how deceiving it is to get his dad back... What I mean is that there's so much over the top plots that the main storylines, which are rich with interesting based characters and great acting, are completly lost. Awful.

It was so annoying cuz Madelyne & Drew have the chemistry of complex estranged siblings screwed over by their father, psychogical issues on the brother's end of the spectrum & trauma on the sister's end of the spectrum. They act so well together... What a shame!
I wanted the complex dynamics from S2 to flesh out: Would Rafe admit he held Sarah at sniper rifle point & then tearfully lowered the sniper as he couldn't do it... at least not again? Would JB finally dress down Big John? Would JJ finally get to show his anger towards his parents and not have it glossed over? Would Ana & Mike verbalise properly to Kie why they feel the need to do what they do? Would Sarah & Wheezie ever talk again? Are Rafe & Wheezie still close? Would Rafe & Sarah ever get to express their contempt about their relationship thanks to Ward to eachother in a civilised manner?
I agree with almost everything...I think that the whole treassure hunt thing is a heart of the show. New love drama is not that bad (except for the JB/Sara/Topper mess). EJ and Kiara would be far more enjoyable if it wasn't for her previous thing with Pope which was weeeird. The plot was lacking tho and the "bad guy" was ridiculous.

They could make it far more interesting if all the kids had more belivable puropse to do it other than making Big John happy and proud or helping Pope with his Legacy (It's hard to believe that teenager cares so much about it considering all the risks). But what else can they do? Hang out in Outer Banks? They should leave them on the Island for like a half of the show - new place, new beginnings and than make some tressaure hunt worth working for. They're trying to make the stakes so much bigger that it ironically made the stakes feel smaller. Like, expanding upon Rafe's storyline and having him be the main villain of s3 would've been perfect because he actually has character development and history with the pogues, but instead they introduce Singh as this big bad villain but it just feels so forced, unrealistic and unnecessary. The show was better when the world was smaller and more detailed instead of this big expansive treasure hunting world that feels unrelatable and unrealistic.

i really kind of hate how kiara and jj are a couple in season 3. the only reason they were actually together in s3 because the fans pressured the director or whoever decides that stuff to make them a couple. i mean i guess they are a sort of okay couple but i feel like they didn’t have much chemistry. on the other hand i love how pope and cleo are a thing.
They harassed the actors of JJ & Kie's real life girlfriends, that turned off JJ's actor to the ship I think
I honestly think not many people get that literally the only problem is that shows think they need to do more and more. They always incorporate more tension and adventures and eventually overdo it. Always. That is the reason every single show flopped from season to season, every single one. Which is exactly what was slowly shining though in season 2 and then really developed in season 3. And I don't freaking get how producers and writers can't learn out of this for the life of them. Like why?
People are obsessed with this show mostly only because of its initial vibe. A warm summer, being free, surfing with friends, watching sunsets on a boat, pool parties, picknicks. That's _exactly_ what people want to see. Then they just need a little adventure to keep you hooked and that's it. But in season 3 they completely cut off this chill summer vibe and overdid it with the adventures SO much. That was literally the only problem. I hope they listen to that and change it for the better in season 4 because Outer Banks is still my absolute favorite show and its such a shame.

JJ & Kiara made sense in the first 2 seasons, there were a lot of moments of tension between the two of them (particularly from JJ's end though), however I feel like they heard what fans wanted & really rushed through to get them together because the progression of Kiara's dynamic change w/ JJ did not make sense.

I'm so glad my sister and I weren't the only ones who hated S3. I didn't like the storyline at all, I feel like the directors should have gotten their dynamic of outer banks back instead of constantly going to different places with terrible subplots. Then essentially trying to ruin their friendship, as if they didn't spend months together on an island...

it was weird to me how they built up rafe to be mentally unstable and a ticking time bomb in season 2 only for him to turn into a criminal mastermind in season 3, and be partially redeemed. i would have liked if they leaned more into his character going a-wall, it would have been more interesting.
this season of outer banks came out when I was on the coach journey back from a school trip and me and my friend were SO excited to have something fun to watch on the way back. we genuinely got like 3 episodes in and then I turned to her and said 'can you remember a single that that has happened so far' and she was like 'nope' and we turned it off and never resumed 💀💀

ngl I was shipping Kie and JJ because the actors have such good onscreen chemistry and play off each other so well for the comedic beats of S1 and S2. But I knew immediately that the writers had decided they would become a thing this season because every interaction between them suddenly felt so FORCED. Like, the two became so *aware* of each other that the sheer awkwardness of their presence onscreen just KILLED the easy familiarity they had that made it so fun to imagine their friendship turning into something more. I was already bored with the actual plotline of the show so wasting the characters was the last straw and I dropped the show

This season had so much potential to be soo good like back in season two every ep made you want to watch more. It would have been amazing if they slowed down it felt like the pacing was off and if they stayed on the island for a while and set up this crazy treasure hunt to eldorado for season 4 and make it the final one. End it with a banger and higher stakes by killing an important character. They could have redeemed Topper in s 3 and then killed him in s4 (they where trying to redeem him in season one when he helped them) with another main character. At least put one of the pogues in the hospital for something serious “life threatening” at least. You are telling me JJ’s crazy ass didn’t get injured badly once like i need a dramatic hospital scene. I wish they could have made Rafe more insane kill his dad and then in s4 he could’ve been the mist menacing fd up person

I'm watching this cos I didn't know what happened in Season 3 lol. I stopped watched the second Kia shouted out "MURDERER" for no reason when they were supposed to be incognito and recording evidence for Ward shooting that plane guy. Then the camera was dropped , broke and yeah.
This season was way too unbelievable at the end. How are you going to go underwater cave diving with no gear, no oxygen tank, no nothing and no idea how long the swim will be and just send it like it’s no big deal, I mean they didn’t even mention that they were about to do one of the most dangerous things ever then it conveniently is a short ass swim and they find an air pocket 😂 no shot they would have drowned irl

I'd say it's somewhat of an unpopular opinion, but instead of making Kie kiss EVERYONE of her male friends, they should've just turned it into Kie figuring out what she wants romantically. She confused her platonic feelings for the guys with romantic feelings. Let's be real, she has more chemistry with Sarah than with any of the guys in S3. They could've fixed it if they just made her lesbian. The actress has a girlfriend irl so it would've been authentic and it would've made her character better (cuz she's not jumping from guy to guy just for fun but to figure out her sexuality). I loved Kie and JJ as friends but now after all that happened in the prior two season, it feels forced. Like it's not a slow burn if she tried every other option esp with no chemistry (I also blame the script cuz wtf was that).
It also pissed me off that they made Sarah cheat on John B. Like just break up 😭

here's my opinion:
I think that it def wasn't the best season. Big john kind of drove me crazy, and he separated john b from the pogues way too damn much. I also really ship Jiara, but it felt rushed. Overall, there were some good moments, and I still enjoyed the season, but there were a lot of flaws. I hope that next season will be a redemption, and as good as the 2nd season.

i'm totally disappointed in this season. when season 1 came out in 2020, i quickly fell in love with the teen/summer/treasure hunting vibe. i do think that the show should have continued on, but kept it on a smaller scale and focused on ONE thing, rather than tons of diff plots all over the place. ALSO, the time jump??? NEVERRRRR DO A TIME JUMP!!
I would watch a Supernatural amount of OBX seasons if we could just follow John B and JJ on the island in organic beliveable plots. Now I'm just sad...

Suddenly JJ and Kie were so aware of each other and every scene with just them two had a tension that went from like 10 in orevious seasons to 100, instead of slowly building up by going 20, 30, 40, etc. It felt forced and too overt, too obvious. It wasnt the slow burn we deserved.

I hope season 4 is a lot about pogues vs kooks, but from the new perspective that the P4L crew are no longer pogues since they found the gold.

Characters don't process shit in this show, it's over the top plot over over the top plot (if that makes any sense). It's frustrating, because it ain't needed!!! They have so much interesting characters, all we want is organic storylines with them, but the writers choose to ruin it instead
@C.D. I do agree with you. I thought seeing the opening where Sarah kept thinking she saw a boat and John B started comforting her, we were seeing something new. That the writers were using the island to finally delve more into the characters and their traumas (cause these characters went through ALOT) but nope they left the island and started on that stupid treasure hunt. Like I'm honestly done with this show!!
The problem is the unrealistic things that happened in the forest and the cave, as if I was watching Harry Potter 😏

i’m in a class where we just learned about the “island of gold” and “el dorado”. nobody ever saw it in the western world but people talked abt it. everyone who tries to find it doesn’t come back. i feel like knowing the history made me really into it. esp knowing the gold owned to popes fam

Overrated show: Not all main characters are well written and motives are forced, there aren’t any actual character arcs just forced drama and wasted time, John B’s personality is “Bro, we gotta find the treasure!” and we never really know if a character is actually dead. Btw, S4 theory: Ward secretly survives and teams up with Topper and Rafe to take over the United States of America by stealing the gold to buy a bunch of people off; that’s how predicable this show’s plot actually is. 😂

Big John took away so much screen time from the Pogues. I loved the show because of the Pogues. We rarely got to see them together 😭😭
I love the pass 2 seasons , everything was well written but this season literally was so terrible , and I love this show with my whole heart but their was so much things happening in one season , which was crazy . The fact too we’re Madelyn and chase broke up in real life so there characters was so off . It just didn’t feel like obx . I really do hope s4 will be a lot better .
Jiara was so random even though everyone had been shipping them. They had ZERO chemistry this season.
It took me almost a month to finish the season because I just didn't find it interesting. From the villain being lame with his constant "you know". To Rafe just has multiple breakdowns. He's literally giving the same performance every time he's on screen. The problems the pogues encounter seem like they are too easy to solve. For ex. lighting fireworks to scare away bad guys is just not it...any 12-year-old could do that. It's giving Kevin McCallister in Home Alone. Also, I didn't mind Kie and JJ getting together, but it was a little weird because I do see them more as friends AND wasn't she just dating Pope. I'm getting whiplash. The group was separated for way too long and why is Ward acting so soft now lol. The way this man wanted to give the cross away just felt like it came out of nowhere because just last season he was happy to do anything to get it. Anyway, when it got to the last 2 episodes is when I felt like I got invested.

season two was so hard for me tbh n season three j made me realize it wasn’t worth it. i loved the lighthearted vibe of season one n ik it got more intense in the end but it worked out. they j don’t write well n tbh the acting was rlly throwing me off in the beginning of this season two. season twos last episode made me esp mad bc it pulled a riverdale in my eyes. there was no lead up or foreshadowing for big john to b alive n then they j threw it in there. i feel like rafe needed more screen time of him j losing his mind lol. ik john b is the main character but he was annoying me sm n that shouldn’t happen w a main character. i wish we saw them b friends more n j do dumb teen things n bond. sry this is so long lol
I think it would be better if they did not ruin the main 4 friend's relationship. Why can't they stay as a friend? Like I don't get it. It would be so much better if they always stay as friends.
I love the show personally and I’ll probably be coming back for season 4 (mostly for Jj, Kie, Cleo, and pope bc they carry the show) but i feel like the story this season was VERY chaotic..like we were on the island for 5 seconds then in the Bahamas and now back in the obx..it was just ALOT going on in a very unorganized way. It felt like they put they’re all into the scenes they promoted the most and the more action-y scenes, then anything after that was just..there😭 As far as the relationships go, i loved the angst between jj and kiara, but i wish we would’ve gotten more couple scenes..like I’ve been waiting TWO SEASONS for a single kiss and a hand hold..BFFR??? Same with pope and Cleo..they got all of 3 couple-y scenes, THEY WERE THE SALVATION POC COUPLE AND THATS HOE YALL PLAY IT OUT? And i completely agree with you, THEY SHOULDA STAYED ON THE ISLAND!!! I think it could’ve done SOO much for them if they had to couple everyone tg..like i woulda killed for Cleo and Pope to kinda go off on their own and have a moment😭
ALSO..i hope one of the main characters dies,,😭😭like rafe, WHY HAVE WE NOT KILLED HIM OFF? WHY IS HE STILL RELEVANT??

@@sariee12 i have the same theory but with Austin North (Topper) he was so unnecessary this season expect for when he helped them at the train.Idk if you watch the obx cast out of the show but i do and they are all very close to austin and so is the creators and producers so i think they thought they would make Austin feel betrayed even tho TOPPER HAD TO GO HES NOT NECESSARY IF I SEE HIM S4 ISTG
@@jasmine15512 He needs to go too. They rehashed a storyline from last season to keep him in the show. That should be a sign. This is very much an example of not having any more stories to write for a character.
If they keep him, they are going to have jump through so many hoops to explain why he isn’t behind bars. Which might be easy enough since his family has the political clout. The main issue would be why any of the main characters would interact with him unless it’s in a courtroom. I was baffled when he was at the time jump ceremony.
@@sariee12 I don’t think it’s not having anymore storys for the whole show their are still things they could explore like their disappeared moms and other things.But Topper’s character needs to go he has no use i truly belive that they just don’t want to get rid of Austin bc the whole cast is superrr close and like a family.
When you said you skipped episodes I laughed so hard 😂 I didn’t skip episodes but I did skip through episodes to get to the end quicker especially the corny and unnecessary suspense parts
Seriously, the first three episodes ans the last one of S03 were torture. Nothing less. Won't rewatch unless it's JJ's scenes.

Here’s a few things that I would want for Season 4 that could’ve been made possible in season 3: Rafe getting arrested for shooting Peterkin, Ward getting arrested for his shit, Topper getting arrested for setting the chateau on fire. I wanna see Wheezie join the Pogues, as well as Rafe getting drug addiction help, and mental help…..I wanna know the backstory of Rafe, Sarah, and Wheezie’s birth mom ( I think it could be Carla Limbrey) I wanna know if JJ, Pope, Cleo, and Kie ever got to see El Dorado for themselves to, because even though we only saw that Sarah and John B got to see it…..the scene cut to 18 months later, so the rest of the gang could’ve actually seen El Dorado as well, but it wasn’t included in the season. I also really want to understand Kie’s kook life before she met the Pogues. I remember in season 1 when the boys left her and Sarah on the boat, Kie asked Sarah what happened between them, and Sarah said that Kie liked her….which makes me think that maybe Kie had some feelings for her. I honestly think Kie and Sarah would make a better couple than Kie and JJ, and John B and Sarah.
All I want fore S04 is JJ going in Yucatan to straighten things with Luke over a bottle of Kalani, alone or with John B. I really don't care about anything else lol
I started watching outer banks about a month ago I binged watch season one and two when I got to season three it was just not as interesting :(The ending of the last episode was also ok not the best.

I watched the first two episodes and then was uninterested. And I really enjoyed the first two seasons, I knew as soon as they were stranded on the island still looking clean, hair done and lips glossed, wasn’t serious enough for me.
the end scene made me SO MAD. LIKE WHY WOULD THEY LOOK FOR BLACKBEARD?????? they’re TEENAGERS. THEY ARENT DETECTIVES LIKE… it’s so random none of them are connected to this random ass blackbeard treasure why would they look for it.
They would technically be adults by the end scene, given it's 18 months since they were 17, but yeah... it makes no sense
