As someone in their 20s living in Elmira today, I gotta say I'm extremely jealous of those that got to experience pre-flood Elmira. It looks like the ideal place I'd wanna live. I always questioned how my family ended up here but honestly before '72 it looked amazing. Even little things like the motor inn having a pool and looking so clean and green.. Almost brings a tear to my eye thinking of how dilapidated and rundown everything is. It truly is sad that people fled instead of rebuilt. I don't think we will ever see this Elmira again.
Lived there most of my life I onwed the original drwaing of the Izard's building and donated it to the elmira museum. Bad political policies destroyed Elmira .Befor the 72 flood it was a amazing place to live
