Elmira is beautiful and this is coming from a California native. The southern tier has got so much to offer if your into outdoor activities. I loved it. Met a lot of nice people there. Just be prepared for the long winters but during the summer we had some extremely hot and humid days. Back home in San Diego and I do appreciate the weather here, but theres so much more to do in chemung county
