The ability to upload to FTP via WiFi is a game changer. Thinking of all of those times a photog arrived first on scene and called the station to say, "You better send a live truck." Now, (when there's WiFi available) he/she can upload footage to the station right away. Huge. Love it.
WiFi networked cameras are nice. Especially if you can control them remotely. Being able to FTP your content out is nice as well. What would be even nicer is a built in encoder with multiple protocols for live streaming. But I'm OK with using my Teradek to stream live. Nice job JVC.
I guess this means that within the decade the "satellite truck" will be entirely housed in a mid sized camera body. I see kids joking about ancestors who needed a truck. Looks like an interesting camera. The only thing not mentioned is bitrates. I know the AVCHD bitrates -- but I don't know the other format bitrates. The big missing thing was 1080/60p. I think all the new mid-size Panasonic broadcast units have it, like the HPX250 and AC-160.
What about news' 2GH trucks ? Many more of those than heavy SAT trucks. 2GH units can hit repeaters, while SAT require only one option: the bird (much $$$).
What Prof Camcorder would you recommend me for TV commercial recording use. I am a freelancer and i worked on Making commercials and i need to shoot some footage from time to time. I like this Camera but idk if its too much for my need or if there is a better option....?
just my personal opinion on this. I think the whole Wi-Fi thing is cool, but if a server e.t.c is out then it's pointless, and it may be a nice feature, but what's the point in streaming video if the quality/sound is poor, luckily the camera has great video, so I guess it pays for it's self

In a video about a pro camcorder, why is there always a comment about the female host? Desperate & lonely?
