She's too sweet for her own good. Serena was ruthless against her opponents.

could it be that she’s from Japan? not trying to sound like a smart a** but how was she addressed? is it like saying “an american football player…” ? could’ve just been mentioning her nationality which is Japanese.

Sounds like excuses as usually wilful ignorance I’m tired of so no that’s my point

@@kaykay2000 , I understand your point, but "Black" usually refers, specifically, to Black Americans. Africans are Black, but they're usually called by their nationality. She's tricky, because she grew up in the States as well. So, yeah, but I hear you.

@@kaykay2000she’s Japanese in nationality and culture. She has black ancestry and Asian ancestry so by default she is Japanese! It’s not that difficult. We mixed race women don’t have to just claim black so you unambiguous black somebody feel included in our accomplishments

Why do u sound so hateful?

To answer you, no, she's not Japanese. Her dad is Haitian, and her mom is Japanese. Japan wouldn't and didn't accept her with a Haitian last name, so they took on her mom's last name as a disguise because some people in Japan are very hateful towards people of color.

Naomi does not sound like a Japanese , just a black american because she grew up and went to school here.

I’m unambiguous and I honestly don’t care. It doesn’t bother me at all, but I think it’s done purposely to improve inclusivity. I think it’s dope that she’s the 1st Asian woman tennis champ. (At the end of the day I understand that she’s black and Asian) I also feel it’s terrible that it took so long to have so much inclusion
