Just started fat biking last winter at 63 and find your videos contain a plethora of information. Like how you include high end and lower end gear pricing in your videos. Very little snow here in Northern Vermont. Good Luck on your race. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
Thanks for your kind words and I've very happy to be of service! - PS- Had a super rewarding race :)
Love the Nose Hat !
Your nose hat loves you back!
Another huge Nosehat fan here! Nothing else I’ve tried has as good a combo of unrestricted breathing and protection where you need it. Nosehat + hood + Dermatone works for me to -40 and beyond.
Thanks for sharing 🙌 ride on!
Incredibly detailed as usual from you. A ton of Great info.
Glad you enjoyed it! You should give fat biking a try :)
DirtyTeeth no beard or glasses, now I understand how nobody recognized Superman when he wasn’t Clark Kent !
hahahahaaa!!!! thanks for the comedy relief!!
Best of luck on fat pursuit. Looking forward to your recap.
Thanks a bunch :) I had a great ride/hike 😂 I’ll be doing a q+a kind of recap video, so if you have any questions, let me know 🤙
Looking forward to the recap as well! I would ask a Q but I don’t know what to ask 😅 glad you enjoyed yourself though.
Enjoyed that and would never ride in that level of coldness 🥶👍
I don't blame you! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you for the video. I know you are having a blast! Thank you for the link!
Always having a blast :) Thanks for watching!!
Excellent video! I learned a thingertwo.
Thanks for watching!! Ride on :)
Awesome breakdown of your various methods. I have the same 45nrth baclava it works pretty well for me. Plus I couldn't agree more with you on trying things out and seeing what works for you. I have found there's multiple ways that work or might not work for myself depending on the conditions.
Thanks for watching and sharing :) Ride on!!
Fantastic information! Greasy hat rocks!!
Yeah it does... I was hoping to win one at a raffle this weekend... but, nope :)
Great video as usual! Good luck on the Fat Pursuit!!
Thanks so much :) Had a blast out there!
I also use a sink cleaning brush for the kitchen to wash pots and crockery. One for bike and one for my clothing to keep any snow accumulations off. I always used this on ski trips too, any ice would break up on bindings easily, so on the bike it’s easy to clear too.
Great tip :) thanks for sharing 👍
@@DirtyTeethMTB bloody good tip. One for clothes and the other for a the bike. Cheap as chips keeps snow off.
Hope Fat Pursuit is going well and all the extremities are toasty!! Another awesome and informative video! Thank you and have a great race!
Thanks! I had a great adventure... and yes, all extremities stayed nice and toasty in -30 to -40F temps all night long... ride on!
I love your channal. Thank you so much!
I appreciate your kindness - thanks so much!
Thank you! best cycling youtuber
Erin, you're always too kind... thanks for making me smile :)
Good info as always 😎I use a Montane (UK brand) Punk Balaclava - V good in narly conditions 🙂
I like punk :) Thanks for sharing!
Great info thank you for taking the time and sharing your tried and true system! You rock and good karma to you!
I appreciate your kindness, and back at ya!!
Amazingly comprehensive! When the air hurts to breathe I like to use an under armor feather weight mask because it doesn't touch my mouth, it humidifies the air, and it's not noticeable in my pocket. It will fog your glasses for sure so it's more compatible with goggles.
Thanks for sharing :) will have to check it out!
Awesome video, as usual super informative! Keep pedaling Goose! “Do some of that pilot s*%t”!
Haha!! Love it!! I had a blast out there... such a great test off all the stuff I talked about in this video... a solid reminder that it actually works :)
Great video! Good luck at Fat Pursuit
Thanks, Steve - I had a great adventure :) Ride on!
Another great video sir! I used my OuterU faceGlove this past week fat biking here in Wisconsin. I started at 9:45PM and road for 6 hours. When I finished the temperature was -5 degrees with a -25 degree windchill.
The faceGlove worked like a champ and my nose and cheeks were absolutely fine the entire time. It was comfortable and stayed in place for the duration. I think it’s worth a shot in Idaho.
All the best!
Great to hear! I rode with a guy on Fat Pursuit who was using it and also liked it a bunch - they actually are sending me one to test out- looking forward to it :) Ride on!!
@@DirtyTeethMTB Kevin at outerU is top notch!
very g00d...u da maN..
thank u 🙋♂️
Thank you for watching!
Just ordered from Outeru. Pedal hard!
Awesome :) They're sending me one to try out... looking forward!
Another great video. Do you have a link to those goggles please?
Thanks :) Odoland: amzn.to/3O6hSIl - ride on!
Washing and shaving the night before a cold day ahead always helps to make sure skin oils are not scraped off the morning of the ride.
:) Thanks for sharing
Hey any more info you can give on that blue Mont Bell jacket? Is it a shell? What is the material? Thanks!
Trail action hooded jacket
Good luck and be safe at fat pursuit young man
Thank you much, I had a fantastic ride!
Helmet: cold conditions = insulated snowboarding helmet + balaclava. These helmets are designed for severe conditions; best versions have adjustable vents that can be opened for venting when temps start to rise.
Thanks for reiterating :) Ride on!
What do you do with your glasses when wearing riding glasses. Do you wear contacts? I always struggle with my glasess fogging up. Contacts definetely help and provide me with more options. Perhaps a future episode on this topic?
Great question. I don't wear contacts (I'm a chicken when it comes to touching my eyes). I just keep my eyeglasses in a pouch in my pocket.
Have a blast on fat pursuit!
Thanks! I had a great ride:) Ride on!
Wolverine ruff don’t carry as much frost as wolf does. Pro Alaskan tip
Thanks for sharing :) I've noticed most of them are wolf and wolverine mix... are you saying it's better to go wolverine only? Ride on!
"Grizzly Adams DID have a beard."
Thanks for watching 👍
No brainer....Ha
Someone appreciates my corny dad jokes :) Thanks!
Love your info Alan, I'm planning for some winter riding and events next year. Just not fit enough for this year. I've been pointed towards Buffalo shirts. Have you tried one?
Thanks Graham
No, I haven't... but I am intrigued... tell me more :)
