As someone who lives here and LOVES it, the comments make me sad. People should be proud of being from a unique city that is visited and admired by people from the whole world.
I'm from Norway and just LOVE your city - been there 5 times and will ALWAYS love to come back. I Admire your city and the people there so much. I never had a happier time than in the park of the Triumph, I played soccer with all the people, everyone shared guitars and played each other lovely music and everyone had stories to share and tell.
My husband and I are coming to Barcelona on our honeymoon in May for a week and we are SO excited. We have NOTHING like any of this where we are from (Florida) let alone the states honestly... we went to London a couple years ago too and we are excited to start exploring more of Europe on this honeymoon. I have a feeling we won’t want to leave and just move to Barcelona 😂 I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about it.

Barcelona is my base camp in Europe. Flying to other cities is super cheap for here. Not only is it one of my favorite cities in Europe but there is a non stop flight from south Florida where im from. My favorite thing to do is get lost in the Gothic quarter and the park that has the arc de triumph. The born section is my favorite. For 6 euros ride the blue bus from the airport to the city center. From there the subways are easy. I usually stay at hotels near the end of a subway line or take the train to calella or calefell. I can do 1/2 at the beach, 1/2 in Barcelona. After 3 summers walking Barcelona i still see things ive never seen.

Yes, I agree that it’s not everything about Paella, Flamenco and Sangria, but not everyone necessarily is going to know that in their first trip, apart from the language and cultural barriers....Barcelona was my first European city (2) years ago, and I loved it! It always will be special to me in so many ways...However, don’t be so rude people. Focus on the message, not the messenger...

For people visiting Barcelona, something easy to save on is buying the t-10 ticket in stead of paying for separate tickets (2,20eu) every public transport ride, it costs 10,20 for 10 times and you can share it as well. You can buy it at every metro, tram, train station.:)

Great video each experience is different from one visitor to another. I'm from Barcelona, there are plenty of ways to save and travel in low budget. You don't have to go where everyone advertise. It will be a better experience if you adventure away from the known places. One example is CASA MARIOL three blocks from la Sagrada Familia offering the best CAVA (Champagne from Spain) that you will enjoy. Not to single out a place of course just mentioning one of the few.
@@acupofperspective8429 There are plenty of local places (few tourists) with great prices and good chow meaning food. On carrer proveca and Passeig Sant joan a restaurant called Manaba cheap prices plus food taste outstanding.

Except Mountjuic, other things are within 1.4 km radius area, so basically you were missed quite a lot of Barcelona, there are a lot of other things that you can visit and to do for free.

I don't understand why there is so much hate in the comments. I get that mass tourism affects the locals but that is a problem that your government should figure out, not put the blame on tourists. People are free to travel wherever it is possible for them, and they will spend what they can afford. Not for everyone 20 euros for a meal/person is a reasonable price.
