I have chisos number one and i love it but i want to try a roper next for more of an everyday wear. I would love to see an update soon on how it's breaking in because i might get this boot to add to my collection. Great video btw!
Never been my thing either... but I really want to use the channel as a way to push my boundaries and comfort zone. I think this is a small, measured step into the western world... :)
Thank you for the informative review. Could you help me in sizing and tell me which size do you wear in sneakers? Nike, new balance, adidas, converse? Or maybe dr martens?
I think Tony Lama is a little more traditional than Ariat. I have some roper-ish Ariat ones that have the square toe which isn't as attractive, and the lowers are man-made instead of leather. Most of the Boot Barn stuff seems to have square toe now, which may be more comfy for work wear, etc., but I still prefer the full cowboy boot for looks and all that.
Ariat had those trucker boots that were not quite roper boots but also subtle and with a rubber outsole and I forget if the lower was man-made material, too.
I mean, a head-to-head comparison to Tecovas might be more useful to some other guys, but I haven't seen much evidence they have the styles I want and I don't know what they offer custom, etc. I know there's another brand that's slipping my mind and some the PNW companies are trying to offer more Western boots now, too, but I'm not on the market at this moment, anyway.
Hah! For today! I've got some straight leg Kato denim that looks good with these. I just ironed the crease out of them so I can wear with the boots. Get a hybrid-heritage/western goin'!
I gave it to ya the first time, but I'll correct you this time. Go re-watch. The boots with the cuffed jeans are Truman plain toe 79 last boots, not the Rhodes ropers I had on with the khakis that were no cuffed. ;)
If you like simple or plain boots, you'll hate the ones I got last week. Traditionally built, but square toe, Pirarucu boots. I prefer the look of square toes, but I wore round toe for years. I also prefer traditionally built with all leather soles and wood pegs. Those look good in your pic. Smart not to do a full body shot. Lol JK
Hah! JK, eh? Nah you're 100% right! My wife calls me a troll. :) I just looked up pirarucu boots... Arapaima gigas you say? That's pretty damn cool. Not sure I can pull 'em off, but I'm a bit in awe that something like that exists. So cool!
@rockymtnstyle you could pull them off. Anyone can pull off most exotic skin cowboy boots as long as they wear the appropriate jeans. You have to be a little careful with snake, lizard, and eel, in my opinion. The patterns and colors on those can easily be too busy.
Thx for watching!!
Solid looking boots brother, looks like they'll hold up for sure.
I hope so! Definitely won't be getting as many western boots as heritage boots!
Do you by chance wear Alden Indy boots? Do you know how these Chisos boots compare in sizing with the Alden Indys?
Hi! Unfortunately I've got no experience with Alden. Sorry!

Thank you! I have one coming up in August/Sept. I need to get a little more wear on them before this first update. They are really good boots, though!
Western isn't my thing, but I think I get that boot. Very nice and like you said, very understated. Maybe one day...

You are welcome! Nike/Adidas is generally 10.5, sometimes 11. I have some Hoka Cliftons at 10.5. Haven't worn the others in a long time.
@@rockymtnstyle thanks for the quick response ❤️
Sic ‘em! 😃 The only ropers I have are Red Wing 1178s, but these look great.
Sic 'em, Bears! Thx Greg! I hadn't seen the 1178 before. Cool stuff!
The lining is unique to them and not even found on boots costing twice as much.
Nice!!

Your money next? Oh, I don't know. You'll probably throw us some curveball whatever I may recommend, right?

Um, No. 2 is $600 and they look like something I might wear, but I'm not crazy about snipped toe.
Howdy? Minnie Pearl just rolled in her grave?
Hes ‘gon country!

roper boots scream cowboy
I guess when I'm feeling it, that's ok with me! :)
There ya go, no more cuffed jeans on cowboy boots jajaj.

Gotta love their slogan: “Do right. Love Texas.” Meanwhile their boots are made in Mexico 😆
Yeah - agreed that's a bit off!
