Excellent tutorial in dismantling a Lima MK2 . I damaged the roof slightly on mine but easily filled .I may go for the Hornby versions in future as they are held together by 2 brass screws and easier to dismantle .

Thanks for this video and the one that follows after it. I've wanted for a long time to make a Network Rail train. My coaches are the older MK2s with the divided windows but as it's for my own layout I intend to use a little 'artistic licence' so to speak. The information on opening up the Lima coaches was very helpful as I also have a rake of Lima MK2 Intercity coaches that I want to upgrade. So in all this was a good and helpful video - I'm just sorry it took me six years to find it!

I massage my flush glazing from the inside with cotton buds and pop one tiny drop of rocket plastic glue which runs right round the opening.... gives a good result.

Shame about the inserts - good idea but the seem to be a poor fit. Might want to let the manufacturer know.
