I imagine the people actually living in this house. I wonder if it’s cold in the winter like a palace or is it cool too in the summer as I’m pretty sure they didn’t install air conditioning. And so no one else has said it so I’m going to…he is so cute! Very handsome Frenchman. 😄

Of all your many interesting and informative videos, Beth, this has to be my favourite. A little bit of everything - history, cuisine, architecture, gardening, how people lived then, and a yummy French guide as a bonus! What's not to love? Also so nice to see your family from a few years ago, as cute as ever.

I want to be there. My husband is German and when we went to visit his family we would always check out the castles. Our girls, when they were little, loved looking at old things and we spent many happy times together looking at the local history. We love it.

Aww such sweet memories! It's always such fun to look at history through the eyes of a child. They say the most insightful and funniest things! I bought my youngest a disposable camera for camp once and she asked me "This is great Mom, but how do I get the photos out of here?!" LOL! I felt really old!

I also find it so fascinating to see how they lived centuries ago. I was surprised to see they had the beginnings of some of our creature comforts today. The restaurant looks fabulous and delicious. That kitchen looks like a hospital operating room which, as a nurse I can appreciate. Looking forward to the apricot desert with delivery service to my house. LOL

This tour was so interesting with a glimpse into the history that we often neglect while traveling since there is so much to see and time is limited. Good afternoon Beth! I thoroughly enjoyed this French Manor home! It’s beautiful! I wondered about the fashions the women would’ve worn during their evening dining parties. The dining table looks so eloquent and the tureen is gorgeous! Love the curved staircases, too! The whole house is an interesting and beautiful tour! Thank you so much for another wonderful experience in France! 💕

You are so welcome! Yes I would have loved to see the outfits too! There was a gentleman dressed in period costume walking through the kitchen (he's at the tail end of the shot of the kitchen) and he looked so authentic in his waistcoat and boots, I had to do a double take I thought he was a ghost! LOL!

Ha! Yes it's quite the journey to learn another language later in life! But the best way to learn is the "sink or swim" method ha! None of my French family speaks a word of English, so I had no other choice! And looking back over the last 25 years, I'm so grateful that I was forced to learn because it really has helped me understand the culture (and my husband better!) and enjoy our times there too!

Beth, it made me happy to hear you animate history with your fun quirky take on it. It goes to show how you can love something you struggle with(history, yet with a special story telling spin, and the real visuals works on my artistic side. This reminded me of how I thoroughly enjoyed history class in highschool purely due to a very passionate (often drunk- but fantastic and loveliest teacher) It helped me connect even though I struggled with it and all the dates. You are a so great at this Beth. Yay!! Ok the girls are just mini replica's of you..haha..😊P.S what Camera are you using, and microphone, quality is great or is it just you?!😮😅..Ahh the 'fake gardener was so charming and cute ..I couldn't help hold my breathe looking at those threatening looking clouds..mind you I do love rain and wintery natural scenes far more then summer. Thank you for uplifting me this evening after a difficult day emotionally. You relieve my isolation at the mo..I love gift shops, heck someone I'd just go in to that and skip the actual place😅😅😅 So nice to watch and share your day. Lia❤

Lovely visit, darling Beth! One, and only one, tiny word to reconsider, if you will, the first room would be called a reception room; the drawing (withdrawing) room would be the one to withdraw from the crowd; that one was for the family. And sorry to mislabel it I was going off what the English translation of the room was called from the map, but I'm sure the French translation might have been a bit off! (In the same guide book it mentioned how lovely the "flours" were growing in the garden :) LOL!
