Sarah, I was thinking, if you and your mom don't want to knit a belt for your long cardigan, just use a leather one! I think it would look lovely with a rustic looking plain natural brown leather belt. Maybe you don't have one of those around but I always think leather and wool go so nicely together. Thanks for another lovely episode!
I use a lightbulb stitch marker as an end stopper of Chiaogoo cables. I put it through the hole that is meant for the T-pin to tighten the cable to needle.
You were helping me get through feeling bored of my project, while you were talking about getting bored! Knitting a textured cardigan and I am so tired of knitting back and forth.. the end is in sight and your pleasant cozy time always makes it more fun!
Those little white Chiaogoo things are always escaping, also the are a little pricey… my solution is to just put one of the simple bulb stitchmarkers through the hole in the cable or needle to secure them 🙌🏼
Great tip. Thank you. My cap end also screw unloose. I need to put permenst glue on them, because they are hard to get off when the white part come unscrewed. So I love your ideas.
Yesterday, I wore a black vest, a shawl, and a hat I made. I love being dressed in my knits, too. It's such a good feeling wearing the clothes you make. It feels fantastic to be proudly showing off your hard, creative work. I love being a knitter; our community is incredible.
Thank you, Sarah for another wonderful podcast. I enjoy every one. I had to laugh when you said it was not nice to insult your pillow- I do the same thing when my husband teasingly insults my car. I pat the dashboard and tell my car not to mind, I love you just the way you are! Your warmth and joy spreads throughout your podcast which I often sorely need. Thanks again!
Hi Sarah, I have been organising my knitting this year. Not in quite the same way as you, but my categories are socks, gifts, a shawl and maybe something else for me. So I have been doing a bit on each every day, maybe a pattern repeat or a set length of time, I have found it really helpful and feel like I’m getting more out of my knitting time. So great minds think alike as they say! I’m looking forward to seeing the finished bubbleicious sweater on a body and finished! 🧡🧶❤️
Oh you did bring me a old memory with the patchwork. My mom did sew blankets with clothes from our childhood and old cloths my grandmother (oma) used. And she did tell stories about when we used the cloths. This is from the shirt you first scoolday....and so. Now afther her life ended, the blanket is a memory of the stories and memories she shared.
I had a few ideas to share… On the white “stoppers” at end of your needle: when you put on the stoppers do you use the T-pins in the hole of the stopper and hole on your cord? T-pins help me to get stoppers and needle tips tight. To make the mohair last longer could you eliminate the mohair from some of the bobbles? On the cardigan belt… maybe you don’t need two separate belts…. Maybe you could use the same belt on either cardigan. Or at least use the belt on either cardigan while your mom knits the second cardigan. Thanks for sharing your ideas about a “balanced” creative life. I have been meaning to organize all my creative ideas in some way, so that I could make time to work on all of them. I think a non-knitted belt could work, too…. an English paper pieced belt would look really cute on the Sunday Cardigan. Or a mini granny square belt.
Love your podcast! I recently injured my arm from knitting so much and wanted to ask how you avoid injuries from knitting large amounts of time each day. I would also like to to see you knitting, what style you use, how you hold your yarn and how you sit….I’m thinking maybe it might help me to also be able to knit longer without injury or strain. Thankyou ❤
Sarah, your daughter's sweater is turning out so nice! Hopefully the sleeves will transform with blocking and just bloom into the perfect circumference. I'm so glad you have your knitting mojo back again after the stress of last year. See you Friday! ❤🧶
Hi Sarah! You look so lovely in that bauble sweater. That color really suits you! I just finished an English Paper Piecing-inspired blanket, but I crocheted it using lots of scraps in a flower design. I absolutely loved the process of making it! I was working on my Colorwork Cuff Club socks for January while watching today. I hope you have a great week! 😊~Amy
Not only did I love the white pillow cover made by you, but I really loved that it was sitting « on the bottom of « your chair. It adds a touch to it, no doubt!😊
I love all your knits. And I love the coloured walking granny squares crochet pillow. To me it is beautiful since I love ❤ colour. Nice podcast as always 😊.
Stoppers...try tightening via the tiny holes with two pins twisting them in opposite direction. That works for me always. I love the try-on's. It gives me an idea of how a sweater looks on real person. Thanks!
So happy to see your long cardigan! It helped me make the decision to keep my latest cardigan a long length. It took me 5 hours to put the zipper in and I couldn’t bear the thought of re-doing it 😂 Your cardigan is beautiful! 🥰
Love your channel. The words for “thorn in your eye” might be said in English, “eye sore”. When you walk into the room and something is unsightly or not in harmony with the room is called an eye sore. Your talent is amazing and your English is very good.
My kids loved to have you as their teacher and they say you are a very good knitting teacher ❤ working on a sweater for my son in the same color fjallalopi as you are using. Love the look of the yarn so much.
You're trying to say "a thorn in my eye". In the US we usually say "a thorn in my side." A thorn is the sharp point on a rose stem. Love your posts and your makes!
I adore the Crochet collar. I cannot crochet but so appreciate that artform. The cabbage with eggs looks delicious. I am wanting to make this. I will try. Any suggestions/ recipes? I love all you do in the kitchen. Your cupboard of glass jars I would love to have. These look so well kept and so clean. My cupboards not so. It is Sunday here and a slow day so watching you and knitting has been so very relaxing. Thank you . Take care.
Hi dear Sarah. You Must absolutely knit yourself a sweater with the same green as your daughters' sweater. It brings out the colour of your eyes so nicely. ❤
Hello lovely 😊 My colourwork is always loosey goosey because the first time I did it it was wayyyyy to tight…since then I purposely knit colourwork extra loose and then it maintains the stretchyness off stockingette ❤
Loved this episode! ❤ I have done paper piecing and appliqué using freezer paper, which you iron to the fabric so it sticks while you sew. I tried the colorwork cuff club socks and my colorwork was too tight to fit over my heel. (I did catch my floats.) I will try again with not catching my floats and knitting inside out. It is very cold here in Maryland and I would like to make leg warmers. Can you share your go-to pattern for your leg warmers? I LOVE the white crochet pillow cover. I do not crochet, but I have some crochet doilies and tablecloths made by my great aunts that I might use to make a pillowcase. Instead of the stitch stoppers from Chiagoo I use single hole “cord locks” on the ends (usually used for drawstrings). They hold very tight. Thanks for all of the great information you share!
A very enjoyable episode, thank you 🙂 I also have trouble with fitting circular yoke sweaters and I finally realized that the patterns I have used always have the same number of stitches go to the front and to the back when splitting for the body and sleeves. Well, I am not the same size on the front and the back! So I do a little math and when I split for sleeves I put a few more stitches on the front. It helps mostly with comfort and I love it. Also, the back looks nicer without extra fabric there. I hope you have success with it!
Your raglan top is looking great and I am anxious to see what you decide to add to it. I think that if you were knitting it in a light color you might be less happy with your stitch definition because it would be more visible. With darker colors I think each stitch is less visible - you tend to see a bigger picture. Your girls sweater is looking great! I think a lot of designers make sleeves more fitted on a boxy design. Enjoy your new projects. 💜
Happy New Year Sarah! Thank you sharing your heart jumping handwork adventures with us! I am a lopi lover too and got some fjallalopi to try out. I agree it is a little wonky in thickness but I still love it. I swatched for a festive yoke pullover with it and I think it will be wonderful! I have been wearing the swatch around my wrist it feels great and my husband laughs at me that I have knitted myself some lopi Wonder Woman wrist cuffs 😂
If i remember correctly from Kutova Kika (Veronica's) podcast, she was designing her Bubblishes sweater while she was pregnant, and she wanted it to be oversized but by accident she made it super oversized 😊 but it is still so beautiful ❤
I agree I don’t like the needles coming. apart & I don’t feel that the item given to tighten the needles doesn’t work! I have gone back to fixed circular needles.
I have recently caught the EPP bug 😂 and am making a bag to keep my knitted sock wip’s in. It is the bag from The Last Homely House that she does a few tutorials on. It’s so fun! Now I want to make little fabric bowls and all the things😊.
Doing sock colorwork with the sock inside out also makes sure that you don't have short floats across the jump of double pointed or magic loop needles. You might not have to change to larger needles if you flip the sock inside out, because the floats are stretched around the outside of the sock. When Veronika Lindberg designed the sweater, she was pregnant, and made it very oversized. If you look at the pattern photos, the shoulders are more than halfway to her elbows, so the narrow sleeves didn't have to fit her upper arm. I think your version fits much more nicely and is not tight.
I think you were trying to say “thorn” when describing how your old pillow bothers you when you see it. There is an expression you say when something that bothers us it is a “thorn in my side” perhaps that is similar in Dutch.
Hej Sarah, thank you for this wonderful episode and your amazing channel. I like it very much. You are looking for this crochet pattern. May you are looking for "Winnie's Wonder" by Helen Shrimpton? I thought the look alike... I also love your new crochet project, the tulips.. very nice. ...hugs from Hamburg. Carina

Oh my god! You are darling and had me laughing and smiling! Which I needed today in the US. Thank you!
Those little white Chiaogoo things are always escaping, also the are a little pricey… my solution is to just put one of the simple bulb stitchmarkers through the hole in the cable or needle to secure them 🙌🏼
Thanks, good idea

"Don't hurt your Pillows" 😂😂😂 you are the best, Sarah ❤

your daughter's sweater is beautiful. The color of it makes your eyes pop. So lovely
Sarah, the green in the Bobbolicious Sweater made your eyes such a deep shade of green - it's a very complimentary color on you ❤!
I agree the colour really brings out the colour of your eyes. Maybe you could consider knitting your next project for yourself in a similar shade?
Oh you did bring me a old memory with the patchwork. My mom did sew blankets with clothes from our childhood and old cloths my grandmother (oma) used. And she did tell stories about when we used the cloths. This is from the shirt you first scoolday....and so. Now afther her life ended, the blanket is a memory of the stories and memories she shared.
I think she did get the idea from the song from Dolly Parton. 😊😊
I have quilts my grandma made & can remember the cloth scraps left from her dresses. So fun to sit on the bed t
& pick out the familiar fabrics.
I had a few ideas to share…

What stunning creations! Happy creating 💚🧶🩷
So many lovely things to show us Sarah. I always feel so inspired by you.
I love how you drop the necklines down so they're not strangling. Thanks for showing this. Love your videos and look forward to each one❤❤❤

Yes! I also thought it could be a "thorn in her side"☺️
My kids loved to have you as their teacher and they say you are a very good knitting teacher ❤ working on a sweater for my son in the same color fjallalopi as you are using. Love the look of the yarn so much.
My cute animal stoppers stay on better than the square, or round plain stopper. As a beginner stoppers are a must.😊

I really like the colour combination of your colourwork socks - it’s like a 70’s coffee mug in sock form - delightful! 😄
Hi Sarah, enjoyable podcast as usual. Much love ❤

Beautiful projects Sarah! For the belts you need for the cardigans you could crochet something colorful and scrappy. That would be faster and lovely!
The love your bubble licious sweater

You could also slip stitch crochet a belt if you don’t want to knit it ❤❤❤
The pillow is "a thorn in your side." ;) Thorn being the spikes sticking off the stem of a rose.

Green colour lokks great on you as well as brown

A thorn in my side!
A locking stitch marker through the hole in the end of the cable works much better than those white things x
I agree I don’t like the needles coming. apart & I don’t feel that the item given to tighten the needles doesn’t work! I have gone back to fixed circular needles.
Maybe embroidery would look nice on your lite bright sweater. I love your podcasts. 💞 Diana 🙂

So lovely and full of energy and enthusiasm. Love the scoop neck on the raglan sweater. 🇬🇧
Your crochet pillow is "A thorn in your side?" Thats what we say in The UK☺️
💗🌸🍀💐🌸🍀💐🌸🍀💐💗
Wow, how beauty Bubblelicious sweater, color is perfect❤
I think you were trying to say “thorn” when describing how your old pillow bothers you when you see it. There is an expression you say when something that bothers us it is a “thorn in my side” perhaps that is similar in Dutch.

😉😊😲👍👍👍💯👌🍀🍀🍀🌹🌹🌹
Sarah I think you mean your cushion is clashing with your decor in your bedroom.😊
it´s a thorn in your eye - or an eyesore
in german ein Dorn im Auge, so very close to the dutch expression :)
5 cms is 2 inches 😊
Hint, hint Mom! 😂
