+JayPG It is funny how a character in a TellTale game is acting like TellTale is Big Brother (the allegory for police surveillance, not the show of the same name).
Man I just started palying this game today, what a classic, it feels 100% like hit and road, but "remastered" so to say...I mean, it keeps its original feel humor, etc etc etc, im in love with it, just finished chapter 1
26:00, “Oh, Is He Still Alive?” 4-Part Segments (Between The Soda Poppers & Brady Culture). 26:01 Specs 27:19 Whizzer 28:32 Peepers 29:29 Brady Culture
All this criticism from fans of hit the road which i admit i never played. I guess i'm the only one who genuinely enjoyed playing this series and Beyond Time and Space. I didnt MISS anything playing all episodes from the first 2 seasons. It was like an interactive animated show and i liked it :)
Deprepperoni Pizza Nothing. Despite me mostly liking girls, there’s three dudes I’ve been attracted to over the span of my life; that one dude I met online, that quirky kid from school, and Sam.
"Hi, I'm Sam, a talking cop dog and he's Max, an almost dirty mouthed bunny. Before the events of Sam and Max Save The World, we had to leave for Canada since some people were angry that trees were sprouting up across America (looks like we should have saved the bigfoots only and not solved that totem puzzle) and we have to lay low for a while. And to make matters worse, that psycho British country music criminal Conroy Butthole (I mean Bumpus) wants us dead. He's brought Lee-Harvey and a few more hunters to get his revenge, so the Freelance Police have sent backup in the form of Mas and Xam. Mas is a buxom sexy female ex-SWAT bunny huntress and Xam is a tough, foul mouthed beagle who has now become a freelance policer.
yeah, though I don't understand why people dislike the Telltale's voices when they compare to the Lucas Arts game voices when they don't sound that much different, which means a lot considering Sam was voiced by Bill Farmer(a HUGE talented VA,has been the voice of Goofy for decades now.)so trying to be as good as Bill Farmer is no easy task, but David Nowlin has been doing great. That reminds me a funny nod to Sam & Max in Full Throttle where Bill Farmer and Nick Jameson played two guards.
THIS will be always be that Hit The Road Sequel, nothing can top this. But Devil’s Playhouse is a semi-harsh hindsight game now. The studio is officially dead, collapse, permanently crushed to dust. Sam And Max S1 served the original purpose of the company, the studio should have expanded outside the old style point and click stuff after The Walking Dead S1 And The Wolf Among Us. I’ll not spoil the ending to Devil’s Playhouse, but it’s kind of a foreshadowing thing, considering what happens to them in the end. Sam And Max will always be one of my favourite series of the TellTale collection, alongside TWD, WAU, And Tales from the Borderlands.
that's because he was voiced by a different person in Episode 1(Andrew "Kid Beyond" Chaikin.),due to health issues,he got replaced by William Kasten for the rest of all the games(though they got Kid to voice some other characters to make up for not playing Max anymore, like the narrator in season 3),though now in Poker Night 2,Max again got another VA for some reason.
It was a budget thing, using 3D models is more efficient than drawing 2D sprites especially with the quality of Hit the Road. Telltale were not particularly well off at the time.
I have no idea about that, but I know that season 2/beyond time & space is the weakest one. At least season 3/The Devil's Playhouse tried some new stuff, regardless of execution. Season 2 is just more of season 1, but with less plot.
Now that I'm older, I now realize how dark this game's sense of humor was.
Im Still 12
"Do you have any weapons of mass destruction"
"Who's asking?"
That’s what made the series so great.
I'm 11
you crack me up, little buddy
I wish TellTale Games can make more Sam & Max games. These are classic and amazing.
George Carapella Yep.
George Carapella I think there's a petition about doing more Sam & Max games. I don't know, I need to check.
Brendyn Robertson agreed there hahaha, I hope someday season four comes, though hard to top the devil’s playhouse.
R.I.P
@@dercoxile9939 what happens to Sam and Max now that TT games is closed?
2:22
"Where's the rest of the noise collection Max?"
"ItS a SuPrIsE"
Where are the bodies tho?
Max is going for a mass hanging based on the executions of the bubonic plague
You crack me up, little buddy.
Malcis I love it when Sam says that
this is my kind of humor. Dry and sarcastic
Ah, here we go. The scent of nostalgia comes and I am compelled to watch this entire game again.
18:25 Ironically, Cinnamon Toast Crunch advertises exactly like this now.
Kevyn The DevylMan xD
This rampant cereal cannibalism turns my stomach.
I miss the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chef 😢
Seriously I don't get why commercials make food alive I don't want to think I'm killing hundreds of "people" when I eat cereal.
14:44 I don't know how I never caught this before but I'm sure Bosco was about to say TellTale.
+JayPG It is funny how a character in a TellTale game is acting like TellTale is Big Brother (the allegory for police surveillance, not the show of the same name).
that's kinda true.
That's what you'd like to believe.
Then later he entered a poker game, then lost his badge and gun. He then got his head cut off.
*B A N A N G*
This game is a legend, and no one can tell me otherwise.
I love the last puzzle in this episode. A brilliant example of the series' twisted logic.
"Become Videotapes!"
"🤛🗿🤜 🤛🗿🤜 🤛🗿🤜"
yeah, you beat Brady with the Rabbit Season gag
Sam: Attack me
Brady: no, Attack ME!
The old Bosco voice is way more expressive than the new one
Brady Culture looks like Bob Ross
George Carapella yes

“Attack the dog!”
Man, that douche had a one track mind. Repetition = Good comedy. 🤣
Become video tapes!
The sax solo between 0:00 and 0:08 was pretty neat.
FYI, Sam used to be an airline attendant. So certain parts of the rat's interrogation make more sense.
The first time i watched an hour of a game with no commentary. Damn
damn I love these games to death!
same here
same
I think Max just implied he wants to have sex with The Hulk.
Good for him. Chase those dreams little buddy.
Where's that at?
max has a thing for big guys, apparently.
which. yknow. makes a lot of sense.
'i take my coffee green, like my men'
thefarglecaptain Also, Steve Purcell confirmed Max is a flexible homosexual

Whizzer = the popper with bladder issues
Peepers = the popper who has big eyes
Flint Paper Hi, Flint. I’m a huge fan of Sam and Max. It’s an honor to meet you.
Time out for number one!!
I love that. "their mine, not chos!" LOL
" Must....Deliver...Mickey Rooney??...Videos."
"AHHHH!!!"
The scream is when you screwed up in video games
I remember watching this whole series when I was a child. The nostalgia!!
I love all the past references.
Who here what's more Sam and Max, come on everybody lets here it!
Am I the only one who gets that reference with that paper bag puppet of Max on that board near the rat hole?
Please I can't be the only one.
:D i know right
I remember one from the tv show.
One Grumpy Cat Bad Day on the Moon? :)
Arathir66 no. I remember a skit on how to build a max puppet.
It was a reference to one of the original comics where Sam & Max originated
6:57 - 7:01 when the cats trailer comes up
Cheers, I’ll drink to that bro
It’s funny, all of the things Bosco said were after him actually were!
What if they made a Remaster with way better Graphics, or maybe a new series of it.
Lt. DizzyNoodles isn't S&M3 good enough?
Joshua its not good enough we need more Sam and Max!
Lt. DizzyNoodles I was talking about graphics and yeah we need more

14:32 Bosco was just about to bite the hand before Max interrupted him.
I remember when i had 7 years only i had this game, but i did not understand it at all.
Great time to revisit this game

I love Sam so much! I also love his voice in this game😍!
I actually want to see this Soda Poppers show now.
I played the demo of this with my brother years back. I love this game XD
Gaming nowadays needs more adventure games.
Well done!

Max: *W H E E !*
46:32 Now if only Sam and Max had that launcher during Sam and Max Hit The Road, it would make things a lot easier.
“Good eye health helps combat delusions” is a great line
The funny thing is, David Boat does Kasten's Max voice so well I didn't notice the difference until I saw the credits.
Anybody else come back to rewatch this after the trailer for the remaster?
Max's voice really developed through season 1.
the voice actor from this episode is different from all the other episodes of the game
0:00 to 0:08 is one good sax solo.
14:54 "Only a foo would watch a strange video.. you watch it!"
Love these playthroughs! Thx for fixing the sync problems!
Sam's voice is hot af

Deprepperoni Pizza Nothings wrong with you. You’re in love with the voice like I am.
I think his Voice is satisfying
Who remembers playing this back in the day.
Wow. Sam’s performance was really *phoned in*
There need to be remasters of these games!
They literally just announced one for December 2nd
14:40
Yes, Bosco, Telltale Game DOES have it in for you/
REMASTERED in December 2,2020
LET'S FUCKING GO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might need a 10 hour version of The Soda Poppers worshiping The Videotapes.
17:50 Wait a minute! Bosco is a weapons dealer?!
In hot the road, he’s called weapons bosco’s guns, booze and baby services lol
Tomorrow is the big day, everybody! Sam and Max season 1 remastered comes out tomorrow!
I’m definitely going to buy this game from Steam
8:55 fun fact: a man who went by the nickname of Squinky used to work for Telltale. IDK his real name.
Both this & beyond time and space were awesome
Sam,sybil and max are my three favorite characters of all time
I prefer Max's voice from "Hit the Road", but his character personality in this game doesn't match the old voice.
They had to get a new voice actor. After all, think of how many years its been between this and Hit the Road.
Patrick Spears the shows voice was also enjoyable.
The Pootis Man Yeah, that was my favorite too
I dont like sam with the goofy voice
I imagine him more with a brooklyn cop accent
Sam and Max/Strong Bad's Cool games is for people who can't take Walking Dead.
Dude I've played both there's nothing wrong with a healthy mix of comedy & tragedy
Cait Sith viruscomputerbad2003 no. It’s just the walking dead won’t end.

Was that an april fools joke from TellTale games?
I'm laughing my ass off.
Me and my brother actually had this game but we could never get passed the poker game so we couldn’t really finish it.
Other than the nacho joke these were all pretty funny
Their mine not chos.
This is good but oddly it also reminds me of "back of the future the game" for the PS4.
Same developers

You know what would be a great telltale series were you play as the internet trolls.
or play as the game designers on a quest to steal another franchise
+Cannon's Blockhouse I mean they get the rights legally lol.
my god the adult jokes
ahahahah
I know it may be nolstagia clouding me but Fuck is this underrated
the music that plays at 30:43 is the same piano in the final boss of episode 6!
Attack The Videotapes!

How could Sam brake at 44:51 when he couldn't earlier
Ethan Hudgins Cartoon logic.
@DrDot max has a different voice in the 1st episode they get the one we know and love in the 2nd or 3rd episode on
Bosco's? Why does that sound like a merger between Boscov's and Cosco Wholesale?
weird game, but it seems to be cool.
such a good game man
i used to play this so much the nostaliga
The bad guy looks like Nicolas cage
Who is here after gamescon?
Well its certainly not the same voice actors from the old S&M game, and honestly prefer the old ones :).
