    Question do I need a different belt or something so nothing breaks if I install the variator. Btw everything is stock on my scooter. Thx

      it's not bad idea at the time of fitting to fit a new belt, the honda one if fine. But NO you don't need a different belt.

    There is a weird high pitched noise (sounds like a leaf blower) coming from my variator I believe, the previous owner put this variator on there. I thought it was just what a ruckus sounds like at first but now I'm starting to get my doubts.. Any idea what it could be?

      The sound is normal.

    So of a belt flips. Could it be that the variator is too small. Or shall I say, the wrong one?

    Will these polini slides work with other brand ramps and variators? I have a Keli variator with sel ramp and needed some new guides since mine broke and I saw these in a listing and placed an order

      most likely yes if it's a 49cc-50cc scooter

    That's probably what happened to my last one when. I pulled it in for a bbk and tune up that's when I pulled the variator apart and that aluminum that the guides slides up and down were almost completely worn away,it looked like someone CNC it perfectly.

    Have you ever seen the guides expand under heat or something? I was tuning mine, and initial install was fine; variator plate moved smoothly front to back. Now, lots of friction...did not change out anything but the weights (guides stayed in place). Very odd.

      That information should be listed on polini site as we do not have the efi here sorry.

    By tuning do you mean rejet the carb? I can’t think of anything else.

      Of course he does. Anytime you interchange something on the bile, performance wise, you want to check your tuning. Period.

      Roller weights would be the tuning for this. Fuel jets and variators have nothing to do with one another.

    A 49cc Ruckus is capable of 60mph with a few mods?

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i have only seen one go in the 60s with two different customers. usually people with minimal tuning will go high 40s and low 50s tucked

    Question my roller weights keeps coming out causing my transmission to stay in one gear. Could this be the cause??

    I'm guessing polini don't point this out in any fitting instructions?

      @@CabezaDePistacho if you own a ruckus please open the cvt up and then remove your variator. you will be mind blown when you find the factory guides are plastic just like all of the aftermarket ones.

      There isnt just one "plastic" Dozens of different types of plastics are produced today. acrylics, polyesters, silicones, polyurethanes, and halogenated plastics. It is a Specifcation of plastic honda has designated correct for this part.

    By doing this will this make the belt last longer? read somewhere that with this variator kit the belt only lasts about 2-3k miles

    • @Theruckshop
      @Theruckshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The belts wear the same no matter if it’s stock or aftermarket variator. Typically the belt loses performance aspect around 1800 miles due to it stretches out from wear. That’s why we suggest to replace them every 1600 miles or so to keep the performance of the scooter consistent.
