Killer technique! Last time I used a slip bobber was when I lived back home in the Midwest while fishing for slab yellow perch on Lake Michigan while using fathead minnows under a slip! 🎣
I'm wondering how long it takes folks to figure out you that you can float n fly damiki/ffs style plastics under a float this way. There are some larger "crappie" plastics as well. Conveniently juvie shad size. And omg finesse tubes from crappie sized, through finesse bass, to 3"+. Got to love that secondary movement. Always nice to see guys throwing ye ole appalachian special. It just works.
New sub, great video!!! I'm a bank fisherman and I live near Lake Norman outside of Charlotte, NC and that lake is filled with spotted bass, I'll fish there in the winter months (hot holes) near the power plants where the water is much warmer than the main lake and it is pretty deep so this looks like a great rig to throw there, hopefully I will get out there soon now that the temps are starting to drop and give it a try. I've fished float and fly ultralight rigs for panfish but never for bass.
Lake Norman is a awesome fishery. Last time we were there we were catching them in the fall on finesse swimbaits and 9 inch glides! Have fun with the Float N Fly!
Fishing snobs always frown on the bobber But it's the best The cool thing is that you can use a bobber and fly rig to catch ANYTHING: trout, bass, panfish... It's a simple rig that works for everything And you can spinfish rivers with lots of brush for trout, without fly fishing, because of the weight the bobber gives you, it allows you to cast
Oh it’s so warm here in California! They have been mooooving !
This reminds me of good ole worm and bobber fishing as a kid! I think I need to get out an throw it old school again

I use crappie jigs for steelhead and salmon and people laugh, they don’t laugh when you out fish em.
Been doing this with torpedoes for awhile, works great with micro tubes as well 👍
Makes me want to go fly fish for smallies.
Finding a Spro phat fly right now is impossible. Tackle warehouse has been sold out for months
