I bought the same mop at Loews last year and I love tying flies with that little stuff !
its pretty awesome stuff.
That's the same material I told you about before but mine was a mirror cover made by Bell.
i didnt realize that until you said so, but you are right. thanks for sharing your tips.
I've got an old dog mat kicking around that has those same 'nubs' but twice the size of the mop ones. It's dark blue, but I'd swear I've seen white, pink, lite beige, etc.
I bet it would work, something about that style of material seems to make fish hungry.
That looks like some good stuff. I have some "mini mop" materiel that are dog toys I bought at TJ Maxx in white and yellow. Like it are hate it, it sure works at times.
Oh BTW, trying to get you and M.D. a cap.
that will be awesome. I dont care if MD gets one as long as I do. LOL not really, but really. lol
Cool. Finally, something in chatreuse can be found in nature. Please tell us you took pictures of those chartreuse caddis & will post them. Also, please show us how you tie a caddis with those mop pieces. Do you make it like a peeking caddis pattern?
I do have some pics, I will try to get them posted. The pattern I tie is basically a peeking caddis. Its nothing more than one of the fibers with dubbing next to the tungsten bead. I use a longer fiber dubbing and brush it out so it looks more leggy.
Totally amazing. I’m not a seasoned fly fisherman, but I have fished enough to know movement attracts good bites. I do have one question in regards to this material though. Would it be possible to dye this in other colors? If so what would be your preferred or recommended type of dye? Once again, thank you so much for another great video. God bless.
im not certian how it would take dye. Some of the best dye for the price is good old fashioned kool aid and vinegar. but i dont really know if this material would die well.
Are you going to show us acadis fly you tried with this material ?
yes, i recorded it and am working on the edit. I hopefully will have it up in the next couple days.
Does that come in any other color than that green
I have not seen any color other than the chartreuse
I actually found a similar product that comes in orange and blue. Here is the amazon link to purchase
