Mine has only a wheatley silmalloy metal engraving on it. But it has a single page/divider. And has more storge for flies. It's like a single page book. Pretty neat
I've also found another box that appears brownish on the outside. It's a bit rough though. I thought it may be a brown japanned box. It has sideways Wheatly logo on one end, but no other marks. 50 clips one side. 35 clips on the other side. Seems a heavy box compared to others I have had.
Without seeing it I can only guess that it is a brown jappaned box. These are heavier than the aluminium ones. There is a Facebook Richard Wheatley Museum group where you couldpost a photo

I'm sorry but to be able to help I need further details. Which made in England is it - small or large. Which other logo is it on the outside of the box? Sorry about needing the extra details but I would like to be as accurate as possible.
@@cliveedwards976 it’s 6 inch, 140 clips. Small 10’s . Basically ‘Richard Wheatley ‘RW’ in the middle and ‘made in England ! In black writing . I think it’s mayb a newer one, I got it off eBay for pretty cheap, don’t think the fella knew much about fishing he said .
I am his namesake, coincidentally my father who shares my initials but had a different forename has been a fisherman all his life and in his latter years particularly a fly fisherman. We've had various RW boxes in the family home since I can remember. From time to time when a box is in the vicinity of a family member I joke about my fly box empire.

I have a box with Made In England on inside lip and the logo only on the outside end of the box. Is this an early one?
Yes..... although this arrangement was used on some boxes for almost 40 years.

@@cliveedwards976 Yes. I've tried to join that, but it just says membership pending. Can you fix that? Then I can post some photos. Thanks.

Ok Clive.
I've applied to join the Facebook Richard Wheatley Museum Group.
What date of box is it with Richard Wheatley made in England and logo on centre of the outside box? With clips inside

Re: your large fly box color: The dark, near black box looks more "Wheatley" .
I think that it is - that is what I try to collect
