What did you like about Trenčín? Didn't like? What would you like to see in the next video?

I’m sorry you weren’t able to get in the castle. I really loved touring the place. And then I spent the afternoon in the Pivovar at the bottom of the hill. Awesome architecture, food and employees. Best place to spend a birthday…

@@nicksterba It’s a good thing I’m self winding. I went a couple days without speaking English, or rather, without my English being understood. 😏 The only Slovaks I met in Bratislava were bartenders and the staff at the hotels. Žilina was different. I may have been one of very few tourists. Took a three day trip to Kraków and I’m really enjoying myself. Their castle is more like a giant wall with another town in it. Headed back to Slovakia tomorrow but I have no idea to where. I’m open to suggestions.

I traveled a lot through those lands, the first time in the 1995 when there were still border guards, most recently in 2015. Slovakia is a beautiful country that deserves to be visited for a long time. There are beautiful mountains and lakes too. I have seen it all from Bratislava to Presov, passing through Zilina, Trnava, Trencin, Ruzomberok, Dolny Kubin, Poprad, Banska Bystrica, Liptovsky Miculas, Vysoke Tatry, Michalovce, Kosice and Presov, and many other cities and towns in that country. The Slovak cuisine is exquisite. Beautiful memories.

Glad you enjoyed! Yeah, was a bit of a bummer. I'll have to make castle-specific videos.

guys you use the second newer entrance to the castle from the forest, might be closed sometimes, but there is other one, you should continue the cobble road around leftside of the church. Castle is closed very occasionally, they always put an info about any closing on their facebook. The castle itself and a view from the tower is worth it.

The castle and it's view was amazing. Next time we go there we will try the cobble road you mention!

The monument at the city center is Plague Pillar, you could have seen it also in Trnava. Its in many slovak cities. Its to commemorate those who died during the plague times. Trencin is a really nice city, but quite small :) And I noticed that your GF ordered halusky without bacon and they brought it with it....classic in Slovakia :D

A couple of other people have mentioned the Plague Pillars....I'll have to memorize them in Slovak and mention them in the next city video. And yeah, that wasn't the first time that that has happened with Ad'ka's halušky haha

I chose an inconvenient time to visit Bratislava as 3 of the 5 days are holidays! I had planned to visit Trencin on a day trip. May try from Zilina.

Love the look of Trenčín centre but it looks a bit sad once you leave the nicest bit. I was last there back in 2018 and they were still fixing the cobblestones on the main square. The castle was great and there were some nice views from the tower. It was pretty dead in February but I did manage to get a tour in the castle but it was just me, the guide and a trainee.

I enjoyed the look of Trenčín too. So far each of the cities that I've visited and made videos about would definitely be more lively if I would visit them during the summertime. Heck, I would do that if I could, but I have to spread out these trips by at least 1 month to be able to manage things financially. That being said, sometimes the overcast weather and relaxed atmosphere can be nice and may make you want to chill and get a coffee someplace. Thanks for watching!

Yeah, most everything is closed in Slovakia during Holidays! Also, quite a few holidays here that also occur in the states can last longer, like multiple days instead of just one day... It's something to get used to here!
