I’ve made and cared for my very first Homemade SD starter for two months and Now I am ready to bake my first SD After watching and reading several different recipes. I’ve chosen this one and I’m excited to try it out. Your instructions are very simple.
I did try it out yesterday and allowed the dough to sit in the fridge overnight. It’s currently resting on my kitchen counter and warming up for 3 hours, Then it’s bake time. I’ll check back a little later to let you know how my final product turned out. Thank you!! 🦋
@@MossyMeadowsFarm hopefully it turned out and your still on your journey! I’m just starting mine and after months of videos and preparing other stuff with my sourdough starter I also chose this video due to her 1.1.1 ratio! Prayers it comes out like bread!
Just took my bread out of the oven, followed your recipe; I added garlic, rosemary, and basil. I followed your method. I usually bake at 450, but decided to drop it down this time to 425 in a Dutch oven with a scoop of ice for 30 minutes. Finally got the oven spring I’ve been looking for. Bread looks phenomenal. Waiting for it to cool down to taste it. Thank you so much!
@@desire4liberation As soon as I take the heated Dutch oven out of the oven, I place in dough, then but a scoop of ice cubes around it. It works perfectly.

Your instructions are simple and straightforward. Followed your directions to the “T”…..and finally….Success!! Thank you, Thank you….From, Houston, TX🤗

I’ve tried a similar process with refrigeration and it didn’t rise much 🥲 I want to try your recipe now! It looks beautiful, and rose so nicely 🤩🤩🤩 and it’s true, we all make it slightly different, there’s no one right way to make it, which is my favorite thing about sourdough! I’m having fun experimenting all the time. This recipe is on my list☺️
I was almost giving up after 3 failed attempts. Sat on the kitchen counter, staring at my active starter with no successful sourdough to show for it. Until I came across this video. I am proud to say now that I have undoubtedly baked the best sourdough bread with your guidance, and I am so happy to share this video to my friends who are keen to start off their sourdough journery. Thank you for existing. Honestly, I love you for this. Thank you a million times, from Singapore.
Thank you! My bread did not "sour" too well, BUT, this was the easiest and most successful experience for me yet! I love your method, and will most likely continue to use it going forward!
8:30 the cover that came with your banneton, you can use it as the bottom linen as well, that's how we use it and flour the linen and plop the dough inside to proof. It makes it super easy to get the dough out.
Omg. Your recipe is the bomb. I do let it sit on counter prior to fridge and after for some time I did play around, successfully- adding more starter and I soaked dried cranberries and added cinnamon. It works so well. So yummy. I will cherish this recipe forever. Thank you. 😊
I made the sourdough bread and it was a breeze. I got a recipe for the starter from Mary's Nest and it only took 4 days. She uses rye flour. Thank you for the great bread recipe and your clear instructions.
The first attempt I made it failed me miserably. But I will try your method because you made it simple, spoke clearly, and the steps are easy to follow. I call that a baddabing baddaboom! recipe, LOL. You are appreciated and may you and your loved ones enjoy a wonderful summer season.
You are an excellent teacher. I’ve watch so many others and there are things they don’t explain such as why you fold the dough in thirds and then roll it up. It’s so the seam stays on the inside. Maybe that should be common sense but I’m not known for that….lol. Thank u, I will try this.
Thanks. Your boule looks awesome! 👏👏 One small question - in the baking mode, do you keep both bottom and top heating elements on or only the bottom heating element? What about the last (lid uncovered) part - only bottom heating element or both top and bottom elements?
Your video is so easy to understand. I will try my next bake with your recipe. I might have missed it but what is your room / dough temperature throughout the four hours of stretch and folds. If I can duplicate the same room temperature as your recipe, I will eliminate any variables for my dough.
Thank you so much for your recipe and how you taught in this video. I have gone through so many videos and I was finally able to make it work today because of you! Your video was so easy to follow that I went to your Brioche Bread video and copied your way. My breads came out so beautifully. I am so impressed with myself! Thank you!
I just followed this recipe and made my first loaf of sourdough bread! It turned out great! The only small tweak I did was the wait time. It didn't seem to rise as much in the fridge overnight so I put it on one of those warming pads used for plant seeds and left it on there for about 7 more hours and then it grew and then I was able to bake it. So lesson learned ... sometimes you just gotta be able to adjust... great video to follow for sure! Thank you.
Your steps are very simple and I didn't feel overwhelmed trying it. My bread did not come out of the fridge as ballooned as yours looks. I'm hoping when I pop it in the oven it will rise to the occasion. 😃
I’ve used a friends recipe twice now and each time my dough is too sticky and I have to add so much flour to try and save it. It’s edible, but too chewy. I just realized today it’s because I have a central humidifier in my house, so it’s too much moisture. I made your recipe in half the time I made my friends, all in the same day. Baked both and your recipe came out wayyyy better! It’s about 100g more of flour than my friends recipe and it works perfectly. Also, I’ve seen so many of these videos and this one was by far the easiest to follow! So thank you! My loaf turned out beautiful and tastes amazing! ❤
I totally agree about the type of flour used to prevent sticking. However, when I use the cloth inserts for my proofing baskets and flour evenly (any type of flour -- I use All Purpose), I've never had the dough stick.
Hello Dina, thank you for a great video. What are you doing with the leftover starter? I feel it’s sinful to discard it. Do you have any recipes for that leftover starters?
