Fantastic! I am a first year math teacher coming from teaching science for the past 10 years and this discussion and completely changed the framework of how I preceive math instruction. You all left me with a sense of excitement for the future of math and I can't wait to dive into these tools further. Thanks to each of you for doing this.

Too many platitudes in this conversation. Low quality conversation. What about the part where AI is untrustworthy (and "hallucinates")?

what do you mean by "part where AI is untrustworthy ( and hallucinates)"?

AI for fascism removal anyone? Anyone?anyone?

It's a paradox because fascism removal is a fascist act. Can you please not speaking about politics out of context and let it pass out, please? Thank you

      @@Azraeltt89 Oh hi!
..yeah, you caught me slippin’ there. lol
I’ve been triggered wrestling with technology and its growing secretive and unofficial (unchallenged, unregulated) place in our society.
I went on a tangent there.
      Sorry about that lol
…but “removal of fascism is a fascist act”? I don’t get that. Tell that to WWII.
      Your request is denied lol
Politics in the face of all the issues we face is never out of context.
AI for improved math scores is pretty cool but AI for the violation of body sovereignty, like all the deep fake porn that’s being produced (and other examples), is not.
Can we get a handle on it first?
Can we talk about these things openly without fear of reprisal?
We don’t even have a handle on the democratization of information yet and the next generation is already trying to spin up the matrix.
I’m just saying if AI can be used for things like improving math scores, it should be able to be used to preserve our rights and freedoms and to protect our people and our values.
This should be the top priority.
We should be demanding it rather than trying to flow with it unregulated.
This stuff isn’t benign, it’s as dangerous as a nuke and it’s typically either secretive or it’s open source. There has to be something in the middle.
If there can be technocratic fascism, engaging in things like circumventing our biological sovereignty, there can be its technocratic antithesis.
but please, by all means, use it to improve math test scores first, we can worry about fascism when it’s already too late.

@@jayhooey9961 "Removal of fascism is a fascist act" is a fact, even in WWII, since to do that people did the same things fascism did. Now it's even more relevant cause fascism neither exists, but people want to prevent that, already acting like that trying to eradicate ways ot thought and ideas with FORCE, when we should just use knowledge and teaching (yes, I'm aware we LACK a lot of these, but that's the non-fascist way).
Beside this, we here are talking about AI and Math, so politics is WAY out of context. It's like you are talking about Africa's famine in between a conversation about pickaxes.
      Is an important matter? Yes!
      Should be a priority? Yes!
But we are not talk about that HERE and NOW, so we will do that in a dedicated moment and place. What you do is called "whataboutism".
Anyways, there is an antithesis of technocratic hegemony (not fascism as you say) already that constantly protect us from any new kind of people rights violation, don't worry. On the other hand it's limiting parts of our freedom too, so it actually is a little fascist lol.
But the real point is, not here not now, that's all.

@@jayhooey9961 You could be right but it's "whataboutism". Here we are talking about math. If you are interested on other arguments just go in another place, don't pretend to talk about famine in a golfcart shop.

@@Azraeltt89 you don’t understand the nature of an effective non violent resistance. I’m not engaging in “whataboutism.” I’m addressing the “facts on the ground.” Somebody has to. We can’t all play the roll of apologist. Some of us are incapable of that level of cowardice. If my civil liberties (namely, my biological integrity) are not safe in your classroom, your classroom is not safe from my political opinions.
