Another Canadian treasure, from the mining town of Timmins, in northern Ontario. Great voice, lots of fun as a performer, big string of hits in the 90s, loads of fun songs to listen to. Another great reaction, thanks for bringing the light - peace and love from Canada!

I grew up in central Alabama, I listened to anything from Eminem to mudvayne, Cher to alan Jackson, anything you can think of.. but as SOON as this song hit that first note, I’m bopping.. everyone turns into a fan girl when this song comes on.. only person I can say I saw Michael Jackson jam their music.. that’s huge.. shania was an enigma

Shania Twain is from Canada, came to Nashville to become a country music star... her first album in 1993 did not break at first. But, she met and married producer Robert John 'Mutt' Lange soon after ... Lange was a hugely successful producer, who had major hits w/ AC/DC, Foreigner, Def Leppard, etc... he co-wrote the next 3 albums w/ Shania, delivering huge hit records 'The woman in me' (12 million copies in the US) in 1995... and then this album 'Come on over' in 1997 (20 million copies in US, 40 million worldwide) which combined country music w/ pop music vibes, and made Shania Twain a superstar in the late 90's.
Mutt Lange also wrote major hits for 90's pop acts.
Shania's 4th album 'Up!' was a double album in 2002 that sold over 5 million copies in the US... However, after the tour ended, she & husband Mutt Lange (who share a son together) endured a dramatic split after he was allegedly having an affair w/ her married best friend. Taking time off, Shania quit music for a decade, but recovered by marrying her former friend's ex-husband Frederic Thiebaud. Shania finally returned w/ a new album (since her split w/ Lange) 'Now' in 2017, which hit #1 on the charts in the digital age.
You guys did Robert Palmers Addicted to Love a few days ago and this video is a tribute to that. Mutt Lange was the video producer for both and, at the time, was married to Shania.
The song received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who praised the song's attitude and hook as well as Twain's vocals. Commercially, the song was also successful, reaching the top-ten in six countries, while reaching the top-twenty in Canada and number 23 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. It was even more successful on the Hot Country Songs chart, reaching the top-five and was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for 1,000,000 digital downloads. The song also won a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 2000.

It looks like a double Gibson SG-syled guitar. They can be two six strings tuned differently, but double necks are usually a six string and a twelve string. When you hear them play each, you'll be able to tell the difference between the fuller sound of the 12 versus the 6. You can tell which is which by counting the machine heads, where they tighten the strings.

I LOVE Shania Twain's first three albums, all a bit different so you get some variety. The album this came from was MASSIVELY successful with many tracks hitting video/radio as singles! Try "Any Man Of Mine", "That Don't Impress Me Much", and "What Made You Say That" for a great cross-section of songs.

Shania is primarily country but she had many songs that were crossovers to pop. She even had different instrumental for the pop radio stations. She was married to Mutt Lang a well known and sought after rock producer. They are now divorced because he cheated on her with her best friend and assistant. A few years ago she had some trouble with her throat but has worked very hard and is now preforming again. Keep up the great reactions.

Great one guys, this is from her "Come On Over" Lp released in late 1997 or early 98 and was the only album I bought by a nineties artist. Really talented singer and songwriter and Wow, what an attractive girl to top the package off. This was and still might be the highest selling Lp by a female artist in history. Her music crossed over from the country charts to the pop charts with numerous #1 hits on both. This video was a spoof of Robert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" check his video out and you'll totally get it. 👌☮️✌️💕

Her stepfather was physically and mentally abusive too her also …. She lived very poor times where the kids went too school hungry … like I said she’s a BADASS . Shania Twain's song 'Feel Like A Woman's means you can still dress,feel, enjoy being a woman. A Woman can be a feminist but still act and be feminine. A feminist can still enjoy the attentions/affections of a man and not feel threatened by or subservient to them.
